If he's going to justify his casting choices, he needs to stick to one story. He said that they cast the movie regardless of race. Okay. I'm not mad at that, but that's not saying he should have done that. When you think about it, that's what the show is all about--diversity, equality. So, he went for that. Good for him. But, after this whole uproar (ie, no Asians in the movie), he goes ahead and says that in the second movie, Toph will be Asian.
Whoa. Wait. Didn't he just say that they go for the best actor, and said actor's nationality doesn't affect casting? How could he then go out and openly state that Toph will be Asian in the second film (while so will most of the Earth Kingdom, as well as African-American), when he also said (truthfully) that their casting is unaffected by race. He's a hypocrite. And that actually upsets me more than his (albeit flawed) initial casting.

I swear, Viacom plays beer-pong, then gets out "The big book of ****** directors, show concepts, casting, and decision making in general" and plays drunken darts for all the executive decisions they make. Perhaps we fans could get out our Zippo lighters of firebending and go to Viacom HQ for a giant coup, where we align ourselves with the Dai Li security guards. Screw the movie, I'm not going to see it, it's not based on the series anymore.l

One import concept I would like to iterate here. Viacom fails. Thank you for your time.

Race is always going to play out in this story as it as with other anime adpations. I'm not bother by it because this take place at alternative time where our current tradition and cultures are use and mix with the narrative
This all remind me of Spider-Man or The Dark Knight

I cant believe it never occured to me that Shaun Toub who will plays "Uncle Iroh" also played "Yinsen" in Iron Man; another asian character that was "white-washed" for the big screen.

There are a lot of Indian people in this movie. & it makes sense since Indians are Asian (Look at a map, India is in Asia.) I am just totally disappointed with the casted members, they look nothing like the characters. & that stupid Twilight guy is gonna play my favorite character, Sokka

'Dur hur, tis wil rak n d doh'? Mike and Bryan definately should've been allowed a bigger part in this. This had the potential to be good. Viacom, you suck for hiring M. Night. D:<=

Aw, only fourth? Although the top three were pretty terrible too. I couldn't even sit through a commercial for Furry Vengeance. Sadly these lists can't stop Shyamalan though -- he already has a new original trilogy in the works, starting with Devil. No one ever learns, I swear.

Im not even sure if that list was in any particular order. To be fair, the film didnt do as badly in the box office as people imagined it would and in the end of the day, the box office takes trump all the critics lists in the world.
