Are yearbook/newspaper done by the same group of students? That's funny because at my school it's two completly different classes, & two different groups of students. We refer to each other as "The Enemy". lol. This one guy was in newspaper last year, & he went to yearbook, so this year whenever he came to our classroom, or we saw him we called him "The Traitor". XD

I'm going into ninth grade. I think these are my classes (in alphabetical order): -Biology -English -Geography -Geometry -Japanese (>.< I wish I was taking French) -Scientific Research and Design -Volleyball (If I make the team.) No room for electives until next year.

They have Japanese at your school? Dang. We only have French, Latin, German, and Spanish. Everybody takes German because it's the easiest. Except me, I wanted a challenge! So I took French, which is what everyone says is the hardest. They won't let us take a foreign language until Sophomore year, I waited until Junior year though, because I didn't have room on my schedule this year.

Yep. They have Latin (but I think that got cancelled because not enough people signed up), French, Spanish, German, and Japanese. At the other high school nearby they have Chinese instead of Japanese. Most people at my school take Spanish.

Well, at my school, you only get one choice for language, Spanish.
So don't complain. I wish I was in French next year soooo badly.

I hate Spanish, mostly because of the teachers. I am NOT seeing my homeroom teacher more than once a day! lol. At my school you have to go to your homeroom for 20 minutes everyday, and they make you do worksheets on "Life Lessons", nobody does them though.
Anyways, I got to meet my future French teacher on the last day of school, he seemed really cool, & nice. ^^

@ Cara- The same group of students, but each has a different job. Some are mainly Newspaper and some are mainly Yearbook. I'm editor of the yearbook, though, and layout manager and copy editor of the Newspaper, so I get a LOT of both.

Oh, sounds like fun, and alot of work!
At my school, everyone on the staff has a different job. Some are just "staff writers", while a few, usually the juniors & seniors, get to be editors. I am going to be editor of something next year, either News or Sports, I think. Then we have a main editor, who will be a Junior for the first time, he's my best guy friend, so it'll be awesome. ^^

I have barely any interesting classes in my school. Even then, there isn't room for them the way our schedules are made. Out of 7 periods, 5 are filled with the normal classes and then gym and health are each half year. So you get one or two choices, unless you take band or chorus, then you have none. I wish our sciences were more interesting. There's only bio, chem, physics, anatomy and physiology, marinebiology and zoology. There are so many others, but we don't get them. The only computer classes are plain computers and CAD. We have no home ec. or anything like that. The most 'girly' thing is just art. Half of what you guys listed aren't classes in our school, they're clubs.

It's mandatory to take P.E./Health at your school?
P.E is only mandatory Freshmen year at my school, and Health is a part of that.

You have to take gym freshman and sophomore year, and then it can be waived if you play a sport. Health is also mandatory for 9 and 10, but if you take outside courses it counts. Grade 9 is sex ed and stress management and 10 is first aid and violence prevention. 9th grade gym is like nutrition and excersise, so freshman year is like having 2 healths.

Health and P.E. here are totally separate. And they are both mandatory, along with Speech. A lot of people (including me...) have to take Speech and/or Health in summer school because it's impossible to take it during school hours if you play a sport or do band or choir. >.<

I'm going into 10th grade. Too bad, 'cause I loved my freshman year. And I'll have no idea what my classes are until school almost starts... D:
