Hey Zen...I'm just having a discussion. Don't take it so seriously, neh? I told you myself that I'm not even firm enough in my opinion to bet on it. So take a breather, we're just talking about options here.
So, yeah, I have seen 312. I mentioned earlier that Iroh could possibly GATHER the army, but Zuko's storyline is the one that would benefit and progress more by being the one to actually lead them in the end. So, as I said, maybe Iroh dies and Zuko has to take over. Maybe Iroh insists that Zuko lead the army...I could see that, because the foundation of MY argument is that I think Zuko needs to be the one to win a new era for the Fire Nation. I don't like the idea of Iroh winning, and GIVING Zuko the throne or taking the glory for himself. It doesn't fit Iroh's nature, and it doesn't fit either of their stories, if you ask me.
It all comes down to the end. Iroh says that Zuko is the ONLY one who can redeem the Fire Nation. That really implies that he has to LEAD them before the show is over. I don't see his story being complete if we dont' see that in action. It would be a cop out if Zuko is given the credit for the work Iroh did, and everyone just accepts him only because Iroh said so. So let's talk about the ending. How do you see the ending played out?
So, take a deep breath, CALM DOWN, accept that we're having a fun, happy discussion and all I really have is a nagging doubt against your theory, and don't take it personally that I don't agree with you, alright? We're all friends here. (the "I've addressed and answered every single argument you've made" thing might come off as a little egotistical to some people as well. Not to me, but just a warning, some people might find it to be.)
P.S. I hate quoting and responding...pet peeve of mine. I prefer just letting my train of thought flow and come up with a complete, sinuous post.

Hahaha when I saw this in the "last posted" box on the right of the theories box all it said was "General Iroh, the drag" then it got cut off because it was so long so I was like, "General Iroh the drag... queen!?" now THAT would be a crazy theory This is a very plausible theory that I think could totally happen

Thanks, This theory really need more support, but only because of a logical foundation... and foreshadowing that has already been in the show. by that i mean, "The Dragon of the west" is one of the 314 title choices, but I happen to know that says that the next 3 episode titles will not hint at an Iroh centric episode. EDIT: more General Iroh, Dragon of the Weat forshadowing in 313

Yeah, that whole thing with the dragons and telling about how he killed them. Personally, I'm really hoping for an all-Iroh episode sometime soon.

Hey guys. At the Comic Con, M&B said that we would not find out about Iroh's trip into the spirit world. and as disappointing as that is, it pretty much confirms my theory here. decides becoming militant, the only other significant surprising thing Iroh could do, would be to become Aang's spiritual teacher, and help him with the avatar state. but if that was the case, we would have learnt about Iroh's trip into the spirit world. distanthorizons.proboards31.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=characters&thread=160&page=13#880986and im linking the info instead of reposting it, because that thread needs more attention.

I don't think that Iroh would bother trying to create a civil war in the Fire Nation, where Ozai has everyone believing that he is da bomb. If anything, he should be leaving a revolt in Earth Kingdom (spin-off ;]), because they are the people who want to be free. But if anything, he won't be doing anything except for turning up in the finale and kicking some serious a to the s to the other s.

clearly you didnt read some of the previous posts.. but thats to be expected I suppose.
Somebody NEEDS to combat the probaganda in the FN and bring that nation to the "good side" It has been forshadowed and stressed that the common man in the FN are not bad people, just manipulated people.
for symbolic reasons, all four nations/elements need to be against Ozi. for Military reasons the FN citizens would be a much better choice, as they have great respect for Iroh, and increasing disrespect for Ozi. (I expect pheonix lord will contribute to this) For political reasons, the FN populace has to be for aang's movement to ensure a smooth transition of power.
I just cant see the the common FN people standing idly by, and accepting whoever happens to win, not with all the foreshadowing they have done on the issue.

I'm expecting that he will play a major part in the finale, hopefully something that involves WLS. Since he is an ex-general of FN, he can be very useful in battle( i hope there is large scale battle for the finale). By the way, are there any spoilers about White Lotus from NYCC?

I don't think Iroh will come back with an army. I think he has outlived his Dragon of the West days. I do, however, think he will make an appearance. Maybe even something to do with the White Lotus?
I also have another point to make: Remember on The Day of the Black Sun, part 2 when Zuko is fighting his father? There is an odd screenshot, from above, almost as though from an air duct. I think Iroh heard Ozai and Zuko's conversation, and Zuko's redemption. I think that perhaps there is a slim chance that Iroh is tailing Zuko and the GAang even in current episodes. It's certainly possible...

Nope.
it was proposed directly after DOBS, but if Iroh had heard and was planning to meet up with zuko, he would have waited for zuko to come to his cell, he would have revealed himself to zuko.
despite how it would be nearly impossible to trail zuko's war baloon...
But the short of it is, there is zero reason for Iroh not to reveal himself to the gaang. there is no reason not to step in and vouch for Zuko when he was rejected... no reason to trail them...
however, the possibility that Iroh heard Zuko actually supports my theory. When he heard that Zuko turned good, why did he then break out? because he knew that Zuko would be coming for him, and he knew they would be walking different paths for awhile.
however, we know that Iroh did not break out because of Zuko's confrontation. we know that he was planning it long before. "Trust me, you do not want to be here this afternoon."
and there is all the foreshadowing already mentioned. why show Iroh's strength, power, and the respect the FN military has for him if all they planned for Iroh was to trail the gaang?
