I have written a couple of scripts for python (click an image in my sig to download), and, well, I decided to share them with the community. Now, some of you might remember the recent issue with Nymph finding a virus on her computer as she was downloading one of my scripts. Multiple third parties have tested the script in question, and it is virus free. *** The first script is a game. You guess it's number, it tells you if you were too high or too low, and you guess again. It repeats this until you have guessed the number. It's really fun! Click on this paragraph to download it.
I also have a 1 to 10,000 version for those who want a slightly harder game. *** The second script is quite useful, but unstable. The unstable part is that it randomly encounters an error and closes. It usually stays open for about five minutes before this happens, stay tuned for a patched version.
Anyway, it checks your PMs for you. Every five seconds ,while you do other things, the script logs on to DH, checks for PMs, and beeps if you have new messages. While it does ask for your username and password, it is NOT sent to me in any way. It uses those credentials to try and logon to DH, to check your messages.
If you are worried that I might find out your username and password, you can take a quick peek at the source code. I have put in many comments, effectivley explaining each and every part of the script. Once you have downloaded python, all you have to do is rightclick the script, and select "edit in IDLE" The red parts are my comments. *** Please try and comment!

These are all hosted on your website and should therefore be part of a vistro.net thread in Other Sites, I think. =P

True true, but it's also a creation. Hm, odd. Let's let the mod's handle this one. Haha.

I have to agree with Shay. It's more appropriate for Other Sites than Other Creations.
Moving this.
If Empy or another mod disagree with me, they can move it back. xD

Sounds interesting and useful. I don't have the patience to download it and test it, but from what I've heard it's pretty cool. I myself script in Javascript, and have created several calculators using functions and the sorts for RPG's =D
<3 Scripting.

I temporarily locked it because I recalled a thread in the Advertising subboard from you before. Then I saw it was for moola.com and not vistro.net. So I just unlocked it and moved it here. So your thread is still here, don't worry. It's just in another board of DH because I agree with Shay that it was more appropriate for Other Sites.

Okay.
I have made a more useful program, though I would need to make a personalized version for each of you, and you would either have to PM me your ZIP (Zone Improvement Program) Code, or County, State, so I could build you your own version.
It is to be used when you think there might be a sotrm, though technically you can run it 24/7. Every five seconds, it connects itself to your local NWS summary page, and searches for bad things. It runs on the same technology (URLLIB2) as pcChecker.
Then you have to choose verbosity:
NoVerbose (Tone on Tornado Watch, Flash Flood WARNING; High priority tone on Tornado WARNING)
LowVerbose (Tone on Tornado Watch, Severe Thunderstrom WARNING, Flash Flood Watch ; High priority tone on Tornado WARNING, Flash Flood WARNING)
Verbose (Low priority tone on Severe Thunderstorm Watch; Tone on Tornado Watch, Severe Thunderstrom WARNING; High priority tone on Tornado WARNING, Flash Flood WARNING)
HOLY_SH!T! (High priority tone on: Hazardous Weather Outlook, Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Severe Thunderstorm WARNING, Flash Flood Watch, Flash Flood Warning, Tornado Watch, Tornado WARNING. You will want to toss your computer out the window after a few minutes in a good storm)
There are some specialties, depending on where you live:
nearRiver: Tone on Tornado Watch, Severe Thunderstrom WARNING, River Flood Statement ; High priority tone on Tornado WARNING, Flash Flood Watch, Flood Advisory, Flood Watch, Flash Flood WARNING
trailerPark* Tone on Flash Flood Watch, Severe Thunderstorm Watch; High priority tone on Severe Thunderstorm WARNING, Tornado Watch, Tornado WARNING, Flash Flood WARNING.
Once I have perfected the system, I will REQUIRE you to run at least a certain version that runs in the system tray, and always looks for national "Civil Emergency" (Widespread threat to life, limb, and property), as well as everything listed in LowVerbose. I really care about you guys, and if I can save your @$$es, well, all the better!
The biggest problem with the system at this point is that if the data it retrieves is corrupted in some way (as passing through the internet might do to data), it returns an error, and closes.
THE TONES!!!
The tones are like this
Low priority tones only sound Tkinter.Tk().bell() , which, for you XP users, is the same sound you get on AIM/Messenger/Talk when you hit the backspace key on the enter message field when it's empty.
Tone mixes Bell with a system tone, which can occur even with your speakers off. The motherboard comes with it's own built in speaker, and if you activate sticky keys (shift 8 times), and play around with the shift, control, alt and windows keys, you can hear some funky sounds from it, and see how loud it is.
High priority Tone really is special. It's like tone. Over and over and over and over again. Between each message it prints, the system beep will occur no less than ten times. It's the perfect alarm clock! And the perfect way to get your attention!
* This really has nothing to do with the sterotype. A Trailer park is a very unsavory place to be during a tornado. Tornado Watch is placed on High priority tone because it gives you a chance to get your things and get the f*** out!

I have written something in python, yet again, but it doesen't need python (as long as you are running Windows, but if you are running mac, you already have python)! By the subject, you can tell that it helps with TXT messages of sorts, but AoD told me that it can't be used on the go. So, I guess it's nothing more than a novelty. You enter text, and it converts it to TXT speak. Have fun, check back for updates. EXE Version (Windows users that do not have python, or do not want to install it); www.yousendit.com/download/Q01Fa0ZRaFI3N0R2Wmc9PQpython Version (Mac, Linux users, and Windows users who have installed python); rcpt.yousendit.com/599975695/d2ddeabbf643b190ecd4941d2ce3a18bSo, there you go! Have fun! Please comment, and suggest improvements!

This is some pretty cool stuff, LC. MY dad always wants me to get into this sort of thing to somehow use it to make money.
I know this sounds kind of lame, but I don't really need the scripts myself, but I'm sure someone out there does. I haven't gotten a PM in forever. lulz.

You guys won't believe this.
I just made my moms laptop rick roll her when she tried to look at pictures of nick swisher...
When she looked at a nick picture, it used the motherboard speaker to make beeps in the tune of Rick Astleys "Never gonna let you down"...
lawl...

@lc: That post belongs more in those chat-threads, like the Harem. Keep this thread on topic, which is the scripts you make.
Thank you.
