This is an idea I have for a future Avatar story, but I having a problem on where I should go with said story. For now I will post the history after the Hundred Year War and the birth of the current Avatar.

This is an idea I have for a future Avatar story, but I having a problem on where I should go with said story. For now I will post the history after the Hundred Year War and the birth of the current Avatar.
The Hundred Year War was just the beginning of Avatar Aang’s chaotic reign. Though the war was over convincing the Fire Nation colonists to return to the Fire Nation proved to be a more than difficult task. Ozai’s role was a reign of apathy for the colonists. Most who ended up in the colonies were those lacking noble blood and descendants from peasants forced out of their homes a hundred years previously. Sozin had taken the decree of Divine Right to extreme lengths where birth became more important in a nation that once values skill and wisdom earned though tests.
Scholars would note that Sozin’s ideals were heavily influenced by Chin the Conquer, a man who always factored in the bloodlines of his generals and advisors. Most did not enjoy the idea of turning to a land where they would automatically be lower class citizens despite the titles they had earned in the colonial world. Many decided to stay under Earth Kingdom rule though the equally feudal and patriarchal society grated the colonists nerves.
Colonist ideals of leaders by choice of the people quickly spread to the returning refuge’s from Ba Sing Se and other northern and eastern Earth Kingdom territories. Within the next few years revolutionists came to the fore front of the Avatar world, and idea of what would become a country resembling democracy would quickly spread.
Meanwhile in the Fire Nation Zuko’s reign was troublesome at best and chaotic at worse when his sister managed to escape her prison. Despite Azula’s failing mental state she was still charismatic if psychotic leader able to inspire Nobles to attempt and start civil wars.
The Water Tribe was better off than its fellow nations though dealing with a social revolution at the time. The Southern Water tribe needed to rebuilt, and despite Pakku’s change of heart the northern Waterbender’s were less than willing to start training their woman to fight. Rumors of equal rights in the Southern Water tribe quickly spread, then there was the appearance of the formally hidden and matriarchal Foggy Swamp Tribe whose customs also had the tendency to shock their fellow Tribesmen and members of other nations. The adoption of the Bloodbender Hama into their tribe was one of many actions that had outsiders questioning the tribes motives. There were rumors of those water benders being able to Bloodbend despite the lack of a full moon.
Then there was the sudden appearance of a young and strange Airbender who some say was able to warp time and space itself. The Avatar and his young bride Katara spent many years searching for the remaining Airbenders. There were rumors of the air bender almost causing a split in the relationship of the Avatar and his wife though others told of the Airbender fortifying their life long marriage. During the Avatar’s fortieth decade the Airbenders returned though the one Airbender who had befriended Aang after his awakening vanished. Some say she sacrificed herself to allow the Airbenders to return while other say that Avatar Aang had to kill her himself. Though the Airbenders had returned all was not at peace with the remote people. Their Avatar had abandoned them and ideologies were changing. There were those who argued that if the Air Nomads had been more assertive so many of them wouldn’t have died centuries earlier.
Time passed and Aang died when he was eighty three. A new nation comprised of both Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation civilians had formed who had over thrown the short lived reign of the Southwestern Earth Kings. For a hundred years Azula bided her time to strike against Zuko who survived two wives and a third mysterious companion with no heirs. (The companion was said to have been blind or deaf, a man or a woman, light and dark skinned though it was know that they were a companion of the Avatar.) The new Avatar, a young woman named Pua from the Foggy Swamp tribe, was said to be promiscuous at best and a sexual deviant at worth. She didn’t survive through the comets third recorded coming. At twenty six she died defending Ba Sing Se from a small army of Firebenders with Azula’s son at the head. Zuko defended his throne from his sister at the cost of his own life. Pua died not through fire but appeared to have had her skull crushed in from a rock.
Then Avatar Yu was born, and for eighty four years Yu dealt with a civil war in the Fire Nation, and a war between the Free States (the nation formed by the Earth and Fire Benders, and later the Foggy Swamp tribe) and the Earth Kingdom which was once more trying to regain its ancient territories. For the Free States and the Earth Kingdom Yu managed a tenuous peace between the Free States and the Earth Kingdom. The Fire Nation was harder as Yu had to die to bring on an era of peace as the Fire Nation waits for the Fire Avatar to reveal themselves. The problem is Sozin’s comet is making its forth pass, and there is more to that giant fire ball than enhancements for the Firebenders who in turn could be a ticking time bomb when the comet makes it rounds.
The young Avatar Hotaru has her work cut out for her.
