I just finished reading the first book in the series, Covenants, and was awed. There is an aspect in it that reminded me of Avatar (I won't spoil it), but the two works are very different. As I ordered the second book, I found out the third was not published because of poor sales of the second. Can you imagine if Avatar had been discontinued because Nickelodeon had decided it couldn't pay Mike and Brian?
Has anyone else read it? What did you think? I had to keep my wits about me during various dialogues, with all the political implications of each word pronounced. It's very intelligent. But it has so much more. It is humorous and yet intense, its has haunting images, great characters, constant situations... it is so enthralling that I stayed up all night to finish it. I couldn't put it down.
I just found a petition for Penguin to publish the third book in the series; if you like Borderlands so far and want the third, please post a comment in this blog: I don't know if I am allowed to post an address for it; please google dragonsheroesandwizards and lorna freeman.
