We have seen that Zukko knows how to combine a Waterbending form with his Firebending. I wonder if he teaches Katara a Firebending form, and that is what she is using with her Waterbending in the Finale trailer when she stands under the rain (?) with arms stretched out to the sides and palms outward. We've seen both Azula and Zukko display that form before their grandfather Azulon when they were kids, so it is a Firebending form (unless there are shared forms among the elements?)
If it is only a Firebending form, I wonder what it does exactly when combined with Waterbending, and why?

We've seen Aang use that form, too - when he burns Katara in "The Deserter", he's got his arms sticking out in the same fashion. I can envision a scenario where Katara picks up on some of Zuko's moves (in the wake of the scene in the trailer where they're fighting together, perhaps) and applies them to her own bending discipline, but I don't know if there will be any dialog about it.

conspiracytheorist: "We've seen Aang use that form, too - when he burns Katara in "The Deserter", he's got his arms sticking out in the same fashion." I had forgotten that!! I'll look at it again. So it must be a Firebending form.

I just realized, it's also the form used by the Avatar (Roku?) in the introduction sequence for each episode.

I agree Katara must pick up some firebending moves while training with Zuko. I think this is really cool because Zuko and Iroh do the same thing for lightning redirection. It will make her style more aggresive and quicker straight on attacks. Will let her outmatch Azula in a possible showdown??? I sure hope so.

It's definately a firebending form. The question is is Katara simply picking some things up just by WATCHING Zuko or is he actually TEACHING these things to her? This I cannot wait to find out, but my bet is on him teaching her. It'll be interesting to see what else she's learned, and I hope he's taught Sokka a few things with the sword as well. July has never felt so far away. So many questions to be answered, and I hate waitng!!!!

Well, they are training together, so it makes sense for her to pick up some firebending forms. My guess is that Zuko asked to train with her because he wanted to learn more waterbending techniques and then he decided in exchange that he'd teach her firebeding techniques.

At the moment, it seems unlikely for Katara to be willing to have Zuko teach her. They're a bit at odds right now.

^ Currently, yes... but eventually, they'll become good friends. ^_^ That's the basis for team work.

Zuko has used Katara's waterbending moves before in battle. Like that fireball he shot at Azula in 220: Was the move she used against him in the North Pole in 120: Same has happened between Toph and Aang, though Toph is his teacher so that would have more of an explanation. So anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if Katara is just picking up firebending influences from being around Zuko and seeing him train and fight.

Wow, that really does look identical. It is not just one move, but a combination of moves. I bet he took that from Katara! He is treating fire like water there.
In fact, in the trailer, Katara first has the squatting stance with legs apart that is soo Firebender (I sound soo Azula saying that); the squat Aang had to keep doing with Jian Jian. Then she stands and does the second form. So she is really doing two Firebending forms there.
I kind of expect Aang to use all forms (although I don't know if he mixes the forms and the elements). But does Toph use Aang's moves?
I can't get over how neat it is that Zukko learned from Katara. It makes sense to pick up moves from your opponents. But it's neat to see it done.

The screenshot where she's in the suit and holds her hand vertically in front of her nose? BLOODBENDING!

I wonder what kind of waterbending move she can do by combining a firebending form. It's probably be something offensive.

Yeah, firebending doesn't really seem too keen on being defensive (unlike, I believe, waterbending). Which is why it's good that Zuko's picking up some water bending moves ^____^

She seems to be using the Firebending form to stop the rain. I don't see what's the use of that, or its connection to Firebending.
