It's called The Dark Knight. Not "Batman". Goodness gracious. I wasn't sure how'd it be, because I heard it was two and half hours long and sequels are usually not as good as the first ones; also it was hyped up alot, so I was afraid of being let down. I wasn't. One of the most awesome movies. The characters were awesome, and Heath Ledger was indeed AMAZING. I love The Joker. He's the most awesome villan EVVVVVERRRR. I'm going to see it again tomorrow, I think. =D

GAH! You both make me jealous! I want to see it now! @_@ I'm gonna be squee-ing all during that movie. I'm a huge batman fangirl...and an even bigger Joker fangirl. It is certainly crazy though, in some places it was sold out a solid week before it even started. Last night there were 900 people outside waiting for the midnight showing alone at one of our local cinemas. We had to go an get our tickets today just to go see it tommorow.

Incredible for a comic movie to hit all the right notes for story telling without bogging it down too much. It was so great but i'm so disappointed for the 3rd movie now. I mean topping the joker.... just don't see how they could do it. Something confusing though. Myself and many people think Two Face died in the movie, however many other fans say that's not the case and that he's alive but Gordon will put Harv in Arkham where he'll see his public "funeral" which will the trigger for the real Two Face personality to emerge.

Oh gods, the Dark Knight was one of the best movies I've ever seen. That's no understatement.
I saw the midnight premiere in my town - we got tickets two weeks in advance. I even had a bat signal drawn on my face. (Because if I go to a movie premiere, I go in style. When I go see Airbender - I'll probably have hair loopies at least. XD)
Heath Ledger is so up for the Oscar, but I think Aaron Eckheart could seriously get one as well. I agree, attonbitus - I 'm not sure how that will turn out. I guess we'll learn. On Ledger's performance: He is one of the only actors I've ever seen to make himself completely undistinguishable between character and actor. The only other one I can think of that has done that in my opinion would have to be Dustin Hoffman. I've never seen the Joker pulled off so flawlessly. I was absolutely floored. And seeing him in that performance is utterly surreal after his death. It's also very heartbreaking. I hate to see a talent like that disappear before it gave us everything it had to offer. I mean, the entire audience would laugh at disturbing antics of the Joker. And the voice, and the little movements he did... completely perfect. That's real acting, ladies and gentlemen. I can only wish to one day be that good.
I think Christian Bale is probably the best Batman we've had too. He pulled off a great smug Bruce Wayne. The only problem I have is that when he is Batman sometimes, as he disguises his voice with a really gruff sound, he's a little difficult to understand. Still, he played Batman and didn't make him cheesy. That's hard to do. The film is so dark, but so powerful, and the messages are strong. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
By about three a.m. when I got home, I actually worried I would have nightmares - and I'm eighteen! Crazy! It would be worth it anyway. It's worth the nine bucks a ticket, and it'll be worth eighteen or twenty-seven if I go to see it again. Everyone should definitely see this movie. It kills the first, and the first was awesome.

Goten--- you pretty much summed up everything I'm thinking. =) I LOVED it. I just wish we could have seen more of Two Face, Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of him really freaked me out. The build-up to where they showed the left side of his face was so intense that I actually clinched my eyes shut right as they revealed it.
What really got me while watching was knowing that, somewhere buried beneath the face paint and sadistic, belligerent laugh was Heath Ledger. I kept having to remind myself that that was the same Heath who played in The Patriot and A Knight's Tale. If his performance isn't worthy of an Oscar, then nothing is.

Now that I got this man's thumbprint from a bullet hole, I'm going to use my moon technology from the future to transform all the cellphones in the world into magic sonar giving me god vision!
That aside, I loved it.

Yeah, even for Batman, that was a little far fetched. *nod*

I mean topping the joker.... just don't see how they could do it. It definitely hit all the right notes (although sometimes it just didn't hit them quite hard enough for me) and I agree, I just don't see how the third one can top the Joker. That's kind of comic book nobody ever dies logic. The movies are of course based on comic books, but I feel that in a movie someone can fall off a building, have their immoble body on the pavement look pretty dead, then have a funeral, and turn out to actually be dead.

I enjoyed the movie. There were some Frank Miller aspects of it without outright ripping from Year One or Dark Knight Returns.

That movie was heart-stoppingly amazing. A bunch of my friends dressed up as characters from. The guy who dressed up as the Joker does an uncanny impersonation. It was kinda creepy. Side note aside, Heath Ledger astounded me. I just couldn't believe it was him. Even without his face paint in that one scene, the way he held himself and spoke and injected his mannerisms was flawless. I really hope he wins... well, something, at least. He deserves it. Even if he hadn't OD'd I'd still be in shock and awe at how great it was. Why did he have to die?

The Joker was incredibly awesome. now, I wasn't a batman fan or anything, but that movie was really good. The Joker has to be the coolest villain ever... I mean, he's just a psychopathic guy who has been driven insane. he didn't fall into a vat of toxic waste or anything... he's just... crazy.
and yet he's so awesome. ~Azula~
