Watched the episode again yesterday and noticed that Kya was wearing her necklace when she was killed. That means she didnt actually give it to Katara. The issue of how the necklace was passed on was discussed in trying to confirm wether Gran gran was Hakoda's mother or Kya's mother.Although it seems generaly accepted that Gran Gran is Hakoda's mother and not Kya's, there doesnt seem to be any definitive proof of this.

@harem Gurl: yeah she was really ticked off but what else is new. she has been ticked off in the entire third season. also learn how to spell correctly here at DH we are not into the online chat. trust me i used to get criticized for speaking in slang all the time.

Actually, my impressions were always that Gran Gran was Kya's mother. I mean, Kya was wearing her hair the way Gran Gran was seen at the beginning, which is the way Katara prefers to wear her hair (The hair loops, with variation on both Kya and Katara's part), and I just sort of assumed that everyone thought the same.

^^ Well Avatar Wiki places Gran Gran as Hakoda's mother. I just always thought that Gran Gran was Katara and Sokka's maternal grandmother. I guess it's a matter of who each individual thinks she parented. Myself, I think that because few other Water Tribe women we've seen wear the hair loops that that is a dead giveaway as to which one of Katara and Sokka's parents Gran Gran parented.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned b/c I don't have the time to go through 20 pages but I'm confused about something. I was re-watching "The Puppetmaster" last night and while I was watching I thought about it when Hama said "Bloodbending can only be done on a Full Moon when your bending is @ it's peak" and in "The Southern Raiders" Katara bloobended the new Commander of The Southern Raiders and it was daytime. Hmmm...mishap or does it mean Katara is just very powerful?

Perhaps it was going to be a full moon at night? Or perhaps she was able to because often times you can see the moon in the sky in the daytime. Could another possibility be that it was nearing night? You know, sometimes it's still light outside at around 7PM. Good point there!

Er wha? It was already night time. The dark skies gave me the clues.
As for the moon issue: lunar phases often last about a week, so the full moon was out a pretty long time for her to Bloodbend.

But wasn't it about morning when Katara woke up? B/c Zuko was like "we're here" and it looked like sunrise. Then again I don't have my proof b/c I can't find any screenshots of the episode. Not counting the one I posted earlier, I got it from a trailer.

Its a bummer that Avatar Spirit doesnt seem to have added to their transcripts or screen shots since the screening of Sozin's Comet. Perhaps if anyone here is also a member of that forum, they could let us know why.

When Zuko said "You should get some rest" it looked like sunset.
However, when they attacked the SR ship, even though it may be dawning, the bloodbending would still be in effect because in the Puppet Master Old Man Ding claimed that as soon as the sun started rising he regained control.
