I always thought it would be cool if Aang could create a vaccum in a room. That way there would be no oxygen to firebend...........or breathe for that matter! But suffocating someone to death seemed a little harsh for Air nomads. They would probably use vacuum bending to create a bending to suck all the junk out of their rooms to clean it before using it to kill

^^ Considering the philosophy of the Air Nomads and the Monks in particular, I dont think they'd have much junk in their rooms but I take your point. Killing isnt really their thing.

I think it's weather control, like how aang controlled/manipulated the clouds
which could include lightning, rain(hail), fog, etc.

I'm starting to think that the highest form of airbending would be something beneficial to people, not another attack. Most of their art seems more for defense since it has no real finishing moves and they often use it to enhance normal movements ( like running, jumping, etc). I was in a martial art where they used sound and vibrations for healing. It was based on the theory that each organ vibrates at a certain frequency and you could "attune" to that vibration to fix it. So maybe soundbending or some type of vibration producing art could be the higher level. I think this would be something only masters could perform since the bender would be messing with someone's insides (not something i would want a novice too do!).

So you are saying is making a rushing army that is heading for you float up in the air so they can't get to you is an offensive attack?

I'm not sure what your question is asking can you rephrase please?
But to clear up what i was saying i don't really think airbending is geared towards offense. Especially when you compare it to the other bending arts. Most air bending seems to just knock the opponent down or blow them away the other elements crush, whip and burn.

Oh yah! i totally agree! I was just coming up with stuff for people who think the higher form of airbending should be an attack of some kind. I would love to see some cool antigrav stuff it could be really funny!

I see so you are saying this canon higher airbending move is obviously the higher airbending move because it is defensive like how all airbending is. I say all airbending because their kung fu style is one of defense, my fav showing of this was when Aang went to that Fire Nation school and got in a fight and he never laid a punch =b

It shows that you really can fight firebenders with fun!

Maybe during a hot, sunny day they could laserbend. Just manipulate the air to have a higher diffraction index to focus the suns beam, redirect it and you got a laser. I guess that could also make someone invisible too, if they did it right.

How the hell is Gravity Bending canon? --;
That one reference used Airbending to stop the piece of meat using a vacuum of sorts. Seriously, you can see the spherical style of the air surrounding the meat much in the same way Aang does to himself. It's manipulating the air, not a force such as gravity. My theory fits in with Soundbending. Remember when Aang makes that whistling noise to attract the animals, or when in the "Firebending Masters" he increases the intensity of his cry for help? There's two solid references for you.
