I think the movie would be better without the plot of the show, all the episodes would be confusing to watch and would make viewers who have not see the show very confused. I really want to see a movie of some events in the show, given that the director doesn't completely screw it up like they did with Ella Enchanted. I always use that as an example of a "movie gone wrong," because it was totally messed up and disappointing, taking the idea of the book and changing it completely. If they plan on pulling an Ella Enchanted, I would even say forget the whole thing, but I really do want to see a SoTN movie...I wanna see the Sokka and Yue scenes done in live action with a camera, as well as some of the cool fight scenes.

If you really think about it a lot of things are going to be cut out in order to fit the story into a 2 - 3 hour movie. So Jet, Omashu, the Waterbending Master sexist story, Jeong Jeong, Teo, Haru, Bato, Aunt Wu, a lot of it is going to be cut in order to complete book 1 movie.

SoTN fo sho. I really want to see how they would pull it off in live action. And besides, the episodes are some of the best.

Isn't the waterbending master PRETTY important, though? It's a pretty character developing ep for Katara, and it initiates the Sokka and Yue relationship.
I can't see anything being cut apart from the Great Divide in season one; not Jet or the Northern Air Temple- we know Jet and Teo come back. And in the Deserter, Katara gets her healing powers. Omashu also returns in season 2.

I'm pretty sure they're going to make a trilogy, one movie for each season.

Actually, I've read the movie will have nothing to do with the plot of the show (Which is good) So...none of the above You find that good? I find it quite disappointing.

for the first movie bits of epiosdes all mashed 2gether from the first book startin wit the boy in iceberg/avatar returns, ending wit the segie of the north and as much as they can in between it would be simlar for the second movie just book 2 instead.

Personally, I am really skeptical about how it will come out; I can't see avatar portrayed in a movie without every event in season one save the great divide.
I'm excited for it, but I also hope they do well with the plot, and maybe get asian actors to make it authentic.

Omashu also returns in season 2. Keep in mind that the movie has a time constraint. Because of which the movie can't deviate too far from these sub plots. Jet is a sub plot in season 1 which really isn't necessary or contributes to the Avatar story as a whole. Sure he comes back in season 2 but is he really necessary for the overall story of Book 1. In fact, he really plays no important role in the Dai Lee conspiracy and not having him in it doesn't change the events of the story. Besides if you wanted to add him for suspence for the Zuko and Iroh sneaking into Ba Sing Sei, couldn't he just be introduced as another random refugee who hates the fire nation. Is his whole Freedom Fighter subplot necessary for movie of Book 1? As for Paku again time is of the essence in the movie, you can have him be a mean jerk with a hint of sexism but having that whole Katara having to gain his respect takes too much time out. I think that story can be gloss over because the whole Invasion of the North Pole thing is going to take way too much time.

I like the idea of a completely new plot, other than the defeating the Fire Lord. xP

^I don't know. That would be weird, unless they came up with a really really cool plot. Then I'm all for it.
But I think they should defiantly put the boy in the iceberg in the live action movie, so they can explain everything thats going on. And also the sage of the north. I just think that would be a cool episode to include.

If they put the Great Divide in I would die. Thankfully they probably wont. But The Waterbending Master and The Seige of the North is what I want to see in the movie.

For this movie to be able to fit in a 2 to 3 hour period, they would be forced to cut alot of things. Because i mean the season finale would be the best ending point for the movie. We also have to take into consideration that its gonna take alot of building up to get to the actual fight. So to cover the important things that are happening in the North Pole it would take at least a good 50 mins to an hour. So depending on lasting time of the movie there could probably only be another hour or so to tell the beginning & middle of the Book. Also the whole talk Aang has with Avatar Roku is pretty big & would need like a good 15 - 20 mins itself if not more than that. With all of these big events that happen in 1 season, it would be easier for them to just make an entirely new plot for the movie, which if they do would probably be just fine with me, as long as the plot is good.
