<random> My band has dancers. Oh how I loathe thee. They suck at dancing, they look stupid, and they're arrogant pig-headed a**holes.</random>
My school just had our homecoming game, and we won!! The first time in 7 years!! And we got to march down the main street in our town. At 11 o'clock at night. It was so much fun.

They can be really stuck-up sometimes. At one of the away games, the opposing band's field show used these huge 4ft flags. It was really windy and their captain had the largest flags which she kept getting tangled up in. The fronts standing behind me were laughing at her and making fun of her. If it wasn't for the fact that we were at attention, I would have told them to shut up. Let's see them try that in that wind...

Haha my band is the exact oppisite. The trumpets all play really softly but we have about a billion flutes and they hurt my ears.

My friend's band history:
Did it in 7th grade. Quit of the first day of 8th grade. Joined again the next day. Quit a week ago.
XP It got kind of annoying.

*Joins in the fun*
I'm in band, but not marching band. *coughbecauseofswimteamcough*
I play the flute, and for awhile there, I played the piccolo. (Like for Pirates of the Caribbean music in 8th grade)
I've played for...oh, since 5th grade and I'm in 10th now; so 4-5 years, and I've kept the same flute for all of them. <_> (And it reallllly needs to be cleaned or something.....)
My sisters just started playing and now I'm teaching my one sister to play the flute. (She thinks I'm absolutely amazing; like when I play some of the pieces in the back of her book that aren't hard at all; at least for me)

We had our Homecoming game on Friday, and for the first time in 4 years (or something like that), we actually WON ;D The best part about Friday night though was my friend and I playing during the halftime show in our dresses ^.^ Even though it was completely freezing and we couldn't wear our nice warm jackets, we had a blast! Plus, I got to talk to my maybe-possibly boyfriend (who was in band at one point--he played drums) and finalize our date plans for last night! Ahh, this weekend was awesome ^.^ I only hope that the band took my horn back to the band room after the game, otherwise there might be some problems (I left before the game was over, since I was slightly cold in my formal dress)...I'm going to have to fudge my practice log a little bit though, since I didn't take my horn home this weekend...like I don't do that already Oh crap, that reminds me: I still haven't done my memorization test over our last song >_< Oh well, we played it in my 8th grade year, and I still had most of it memorized from then (4 years ago ), so I should be alright.

Argh...I figured out why nobody ever sits in the seat directly infront of the podium... The BD moved me there because he wanted all the piccolos together. I was thinking to my self that it could be either be a good thing or a bad thing. Then he called our drum major up who then pulled out the whistle. He also over-blows the darn thing so I get a faceful of his air. So basically from now to the end of the year, if he gets a cold, I will probably contract said cold later. Isn't life in band loverly?

^ Lucky. My director plays the trumpet, and empties the spit valve right next to our feet! It's sooooo nasty!! And he spits sometimes when he talks

Dude, Dr. Beat was pulled out on us today >_< Our snare player can't seem to keep a beat, and since one of the best small bands in our area is coming to our game Friday, we're working on our show music so we won't look like beginner band members...it's not working so well -_-;; Sometimes I really don't like being in a small band (seriously, we have 16 people in band ), but other times it can work to our advantage...as long as Dr. Beat stays in ol' Woodworth's office >_<

We used to have only eight members, but now we have 40 (over a few years). But we're still a really small band (considering that about 1/4 of the band are flag twirlers). During practice one of the snares started speeding up a lot and it was insane. Especially since we had a lot of eigth notes.
