Set in the Shinigami technical school for weapon technicians, the series revolves around 3 groups of each a weapon technician and a human weapon. Trying to make the latter a "Death Scythe" and thus fit for use by the Shinigami, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch. I have seen 4 episodes so far and I must say that this is the anime you need to be watching! Its wacky, action packed, and the main character is a kick*** girl with a scythe (well Soul is the scythe). It is like a mix of Bleach, Naruto, The Nightmare Before Christmas all rolled into one awesome package.

How can this not be on the front page? Also I love this show. death The kid is priceless....... black star and w/e his weapon's name is............. well he sucks. I whole heartedly glomp maka. (no that picture isn't mine, credit for it goes to gabehouseal from youtube). Soul is awesome. And the nickname he gives to Maka on the first eppie made my ribs hurt. Maka's dad is a piece of dirt but funny.

Any views on how the anime version is being handled compared to the manga version? (I won't reveal spoilers unless no one minds.) I'm liking the manga version better except for just one situation... but the anime is fun, too.

I've never read the manga but I heard it has more fanservice and crap like that(I do not want fanservice god dammit! If I particularly wanted it I could just go on deviantart), plus gabehouseal (guy who recomended me the anime, same mindset as me about all anime, somewhat similar mindset about everything else) likes the anime more. So either it took a turn for the worst after epie 14, or the anime is better.
Also, it's best that you don't spoiler too much. Since apparantly we have no spoiler tags.

^ In different series, sometimes the anime has more fanservice than the manga, and sometimes the manga has more than the anime. Some people like it and some people don't. I don't mind it, but I don't think it's crap. It's a shounen series, so silly or random moments aren't a surprise to me. I'm just saying I'm enjoying the manga more because I like the delivery of the story better in it. When the anime started to deviate from the manga, I thought the way the important points were handled felt very... silly. More silly than some fanservice, honestly. At least with fanservice, it's usually obvious and not really important to anything. That's just my thoughts, though.

-snip-Some people like it and some people don't. Obviously, but I can't stand it. Yea, but I don't want those moments to be "teh bewbz!!" And I was just saying I like the anime more because it doesn't have the fanservice

^So Blair being... well, Blair isn't fanservice? I thought the anime had it's share of fanservice moments, actually... Well, let's lighten up this thread. It's supposed to be a fun series anyway: Kid, Liz, and Patti. Coolest team in Shibusen. Yes? No? Who?

She's had no point since episode one (unless you're honestly going to say the boob grabbing fight with the mizune sisters wasn't fanservice). Yea, they are. How could the team where the technician fights with guns not be?

She's had no point since episode one (unless you're honestly going to say the boob grabbing fight with the mizune sisters wasn't fanservice). I already said that fanservice serves nothing important... And, I was trying to hint that we should change the subject. I don't want to argue about a series like "Soul Eater." @grimmjow of the funk: Lol, you mean Kilik, Pot of Fire, and Pot of Thunder? Yeah, they're cool. I love how Fire and Thunder look so cute while still keeping a "srs bsns" face on all the time. Honestly, this series has a lot great side-characters.

Maybe BONES will make a movie like the way they made that FMA movie. Or like how they keep making Bleach movies that have nothing to do with the manga storyline.

I'm going to give it a shot (;< That one gif reminds me of the Teen Titans. edit: Didn't like it. I liked the action at the beginning of the first episode, though. : P

I've been reading the manga, and I really like it? So is the anime better or does it kind of screw it up. But in anycase, I fell in love with Soul Eater by the first chapter! It's so funny! A bit perverted yes, but I found myself laughing at it every couple of pages. Plus I like the story, just don't spoil the end for me, I'm still working on it!

^ Well, the anime makes a lot of changes, but whether the manga or anime is better is really up to personal opinion. And who knows, maybe you'll like both?
