Name:[/u] Kaigun, Kyuzo (Suriname, Name)
Age:[/u] 19
Gender:[/u] Male
Nation:[/u] fire
Bender?:[/u] Yes, fire bender(duh), very skilled
Appearance:[/u] black, thick hair; when down it reaches just past his shoulders. hair is usually tied up tight in a ponytail. the clasp holding the ponytail together is about an inch and a half long and is placed in the standard position of all fire nation hair tie ornaments and such. the hair that sticks out the end of the clasp doesn't flow smoothly down but rather, spikes out and points in every which direction. when tied up, the bangs hang down in front of his face messily because they aren't quite long enough to reach comfortably into the clasp.
his eyes are that lovely golden brownish color common in the fire nation and he has a very fair complexion, a ghostly pale white that contrasts the jet black of his hair in a frightening fashion, though, it is only pale, not transparent in any way. he is about 5'11" but only about 135 pounds. thus, he is very thin, allowing every curve of his muscles to be seen as his skin hugs against them tightly. the bones of his jaw are visible and his features are very defined because he has nearly 0% body fat. his nose looks sharp and slender, though not excessively long and his eyes often look intense and frantic, somewhat worried, and his brow is often creased as if he is concerned about something or is deep in contemplation.
he also has some burn scars on his hands, though they are usually covered up. he usually wears a black, full body under garment thats as tight on his skin as his skin is on his muscles; it covers him entirely including his feet and hands, even his fingers, like a thin glove. it reaches up his neck as well and covers his face up to the bridge of his nose and just under his ears. the face mask part is easily pulled down though, and he usually doesn't cover his face with it, usually only doing so to intimidate opponents.
on top of his stretchy under garment he wears a short sleeve kimono-esque type of shirt that is a dark blood-like red trimmed along the edges in black. it is worn loosely and exposes a good portion of his chest and abdomen most of the time( which are black anyway from the under garment). the kimono-ish shirt is tied together at his waist (lazily and loose) by a black sash. his pants match the red of his shirt and are baggy and loose, though held tight against his waist by a black belt (the belt is only seen if his shirt is off).
the pants usually hang down over his boots and are a little ripped up on the bottom from being originally too long and dragging slightly on the floor and step on until they ripped to a better length; the pants can be tucked into his boots if he wishes to look a bit more professional. the boots also match the red and are trimmed in black around the soles and the top with a black stripe running down the front.
Personality:[/u] although his demeanor is often serious, his feeling rarely matches. he is usually a joyful kind of guy who likes a good joke like anyone else does. he lives to enjoy himself and usually just does whatever he wants without considering consequences and it tends to land him in trouble. he doesn't care what people think of him and doesnt usually work too hard to impress anyone, but he does know the value of having surprise, fear, and intimidation on your side, hence his face mask get-up and rugged look.
he doesn't like people telling him what to do and refuses to take sh** from anybody and can loose his cool rather easily, his temper quickly flaring out of control, and though he would never hurt a friend, he sometimes hurts himself or will gladly hurt an enemy or destroy property. he finds it increasingly difficult to stay calm, and fights with all his emotion driving him. he tries his best to act and think logically, but chaos comes more naturally to him, and he often succumbs to its entropic temptations. he's basically a powder keg to be handled carefully.he starts of generally pleasant but it takes very little to infuriate him.
History:[/u] he was born out of wedlock and his mother had to work a great deal to support him. his father and mother never got along, and didn't even live together, but he still got to spend time with his father. his mother wasn't really home very often because she had to work many jobs to try and ensure he had a good life. he had nice things and a nice home, but she was always working to make it better. he never asked what she did all day, and didnt much care. he spent almost his entire life completely independent. he always did what he wanted when he wanted because there was no parent around to tell him not to.
But his mother tried to show him love. when he was little he welcomed all the tender feelings with open arms. always happy to see her, and sad when she left. but the older he got the more he got used to her not being around. soon he didn't want her around because she would impose rules about when he could do what and chores she wanted him to do. he began to resent the fact that it seemed whenever she came around it was only to tell him what he couldn't do. this led to his general disregard and disrespect for all authority, and slowly began to build his feelings of anger that so easily come pouring out now.
his mother clawed her way from poverty to the middle class, and was nearly among the wealthy and would constantly remind him that he was lucky she worked so hard for him. as he got older his relationship with her became more sour, and the wealthier they got, the farther they moved from the 'negative' influence of his impoverish father. he was essentially a spoiled brat. he was given too much independence when he was young and felt he didn't need his mother anymore.
slowly though as he became more mature they became closer again. she is his primary support, and he tries his best to take her advice and make good decisions.
at a young age he discovered fire bending, about 7. in a fit of rage he toasted his school book and felt like he was powerful. he practiced constantly and often burned his hands because he did not know how to control it well, and was essentially teaching himself.
when he was about 13 is when he first 'spoke to the sun' it isn't as much speaking as it is looking. he sits cross legged on the floor and stares into the sun. peculiar as it is, and presumably painful, he does it anyway. he claims he realized that the sun is the greatest fire in all the cosmos, and communicating with it makes him powerful. he claims he can stare past the suns powerful light to see its true fire. most say he is only damaging his eyes, but he claims to feel the suns power in him, and talks to it quite a bit. using this great power he bends powerful flames, and attempted many techniques far beyond his ability, and the burns on his hands are from constantly pushing himself too far.
when he turned 15 he found himself a real master, an amazing bender, the best kyuzo had seen, though he had not really seen too many per se, and trained under him for 3 and a half years. when he felt he had surpassed his master, he challenged him to an agni kai. he nearly killed his master and himself with his wild, out of control fighting, but in the end he was defeated. However, after his defeat he decided he had nothing more to learn from his master, but rather need only hone his skills until they were beyond his master's. he occasionally tests himself by returning to his old dojo and challenging his former mentor, yet still he has yet to gain victory and is not yet truly a master. he also is incapable of lightning bending, the tell tale sign of fire bending mastery, due to his volatile emotions.
after suffering defeat against a true master, he decided to join the might of the fire nation as an enlisted soldier, because where could he possibly have a better opportunity to find real opponents fighting with their all, not hesitant in trying to take his life? he sought the perfect training: war. however, he quickly lost his patience with taking orders and he broke off from the enlisted military and is currently considered a private contractor, and is technically not an actual soldier. this was his way of bypassing the authority he so loathes. since he isn't an actual part of the military, he doesn't have to follow orders from enlisted officers, and can use any means, or do anything necessary to accomplish his mission.
he hasn't been sent to do anything too wild yet, and mostly gets guard jobs or scout missions, and despite his lust for battle, has only seen the frontlines a few times. but he has only just begun his career and anything can happen.
