Has anyone got this? When we got our Game Cube, Mario Kart Double Dash came with it, and I loved it. (Even though I heard that regular Mario Kart was better, I never played it.) The one for the Wii comes with a steering wheel, but you can also play it with the Game Cube controller, I think. I really want it and was wondering if anyone already had it.

Plan on getting it, maybe when the price drops.
The only Mario Kart I played before was Double Dash, which I definitely enjoyed despite unenthusiastic reviews. With this one considered better, I suppose I'll like it a lot.

I thought that I read that the price was only about $30, which is pretty good for a Wii game, but maybe I was wrong. I absolutely loved Double Dash too. In the other one couldn't you only have one person in the car at a time? I love my Todette/Baby Bowser team. Super Shrooms AND Bowser shells = Pure awesome.

Well I never really play Mario games unless it's the original Super Mario Brothers. But this game looks fun because of the Wii Wheel and the online play. I may plan on buying it. How much does it cost, $50?

I just got it but I haven't played because I'm waiting for my brother to get home. It was $50 I think, but my mom paid for it. ^_^ We couldn't find the second wheel though. There was like 100 of the actual game+wheel, but only like 10 wheels - which were all gone from all the stores we went to. The extra wheel would be $10. You can only have one person in the Kart at a time and I liked having 2....

You have to realize that Mario Kart originally started with one player in a kart at a time. Double Dash was the only exception in the series hence the "double" in the title.
I haven't gotten this particular game yet but I have to save up the money to get it. Since I loved Double Dash, I really hope this one can live up to its' reputation.

I want to get this game. It's awesome. I played it @ the store.
Although I'm like a drunk-driver! (;

I got this today and burned a few hours testing it out. I can't speak for the online mode (I've heard it's fantastic, though), but I can talk about the offline mode - specifically, multiplayer. My initial impression is that Double Dash is more impressive visually (you read that right) and has a better "feel" to it. With Double Dash, you are constantly switching your driver with your backseat guy to gain item advantage, you have to jiggle your finger back and forth on the analog stick to control the speed of your boosts (they've eliminated that aspect of control in MK Wii), the tracks offer more twists and turns - there is more happening, and you get really engaged in the experience. MKW feels like a bridge title to me, and it loses some of its fun, frantic appeal with that transition.
Get ready for a big departure from Double Dash if you decide to go ahead and buy this one. The online play might be enough to justify the price tag (fifty), but in my opinion it's a bit of a step backward for the series.

I've had it for a while now, but it doesn't make me want to keep playing. I would sit for hours on DD, but I still haven't even beaten all teh 100 ccs yet.

The Wii version is good, although the only difference I saw between it and the 64 version were slightly crisper graphics and new items/characters/stages. Nothing new in the gameplay department. Although, that's a good thing, as the 64 version was perfect. Lot of nostalgia.

I just ended up using the GameCube controller, since I played at my friend's house and he only had one good wheel (the other was a crappy one). of course, being the uninformed loser that I am, I didn't know until after the fact that the drift/use item buttons had changed. ~Sanaki~
