Nandireya for the win. ^ LOL When S3 resumes I can't wait to see Uncle Iroh reappear. The new uber-buff Iroh has definitely piqued my interest! Now that Zuko has officially left the Fire Nation maybe their relationship can be reconciled. I really wonder if Iroh knew deep down inside that Zuko would defect in the end all along?

Oh my goodness, spin off series for Iroh, that would be amazing!!!! If they don't make a series for Iroh, I think they should at least make a movie (2 hours) about him lol.
Iroh is my favorite character, now I shall rejoice!!

That would certainly be interesting to see! (I'm the first vote for #3.) It would be neat to see Iroh's past, and what made him the way he is... Plus, well, I'm certain young Iroh was a hearthrob for just about every young noblewoman in the FN... Of course, i have a similar opinion concerning the other son of Azulon, which may seem crazy to some--well, most--on this thread, but i know at least one other poster will agree with me, because she's "infamous" for that sort of thing... (lol I just had a funny thought, admirality--maybe we ought to call you "the baddest member/girl on the forum," or something like that, considering who your favorite character is. And you're right--infamy is definitely you. )

well, I would be lamenting with you. However, to my knowledge, M&B specifically said that we would not find out about Iroh's journey into the spirit world in this season...
this to me increases the possibility that we will find out about Iroh's trip into the spirit world in a spin-off series ;D
admirality, im not exactly sure im spiritual or wise as Iroh is, but I try at least. whats that quote? "all the worlds a stage" (and we must all choose whom to play)? something along those lines. heres your thanks anyways.

nandireya: I also love that option--or at least, it amuses me. admirality: Glad to know I made you laugh. And i guess it is cool that we have a member that kind of represents/acts like each of those two characters. lol (And for what it's worth, i also think it's great that you think someone is amazing who is your total opposite and who's favorite character you dislike--to me, that really says something for the non-"evil, corrupt" part of you. But don't worry, i won't tell anyone. We wouldn't want to spoil your reputation, after all, right?) @zenjamin and conspiracytheorist: I would be lamenting with you as well, and now i'm kind of sad that we won't find out more about Iroh's spirit world journey this season. I do think it would be cool to find out about it in an Iroh-centric spinoff, tho. And i guess it's good for Iroh lovers that this seems to increase the possibility of one happening...

ya, right now im just pretending that the Iroh spin-off not happening is not a possibility. because as cool as it will be to see Iroh ride in at the last minute with the figurative calvary, It wont be enough. anyways, here is another Iroh pic erikonil.deviantart.com/art/Displaced-83349604in general, I perfer fan fics to art, but this is not the case with Iroh... I just dont feel those fics really capture the wisdom/power/carefree nature that is Iroh. but if any of you read a particularly good one, send it along.

Thanks for posting that--I really like it. I hope an Iroh spinoff happens, at least for your sake (even tho i'm not sure it could top Avatar--it'd be cool, tho). As far as fics go... Well, i feel somewhat like this is tooting my own horn (or however you say it? lol) but I'm working on a fanfic where Iroh is the viewpoint character, and I'm trying to make his character deep, wise, compassionate and yet light-hearted and so on... So if you want to read it, here's the link. (It mostly takes place right after Zuko's banishment, and it's mainly about Iroh trying to help his nephew deal with what has happened, and coming to terms with it himself.) It isn't finished, but I'm working on the next chapter, and hopefully i'll have it up before too long. Anyway, hope you like it (and that i manage to live up to your opinion of how Iroh should be portrayed! ). www.fanfiction.net/s/3909870/1/With_Hope_Rekindled

This is interesting... You just mentioned Aaron Ehasz. One of the things I just read in the article in PiQ magazine was that he greatly expanded the role of Uncle Iroh.
KONIETZKO: Definitely. I thnk we had more of a harsh character idea for him. More of a strict kind of kung-fu sifu guy, and Aaron really humanized him. And what was cool was that the original idea was just a younger version of Iroh. He used to be that really hard-core general and military guy, and now he's sort of in his golden years. Aaron and Mako, the two of them...there were a lot of neat pairings of people on the staff, like Jack DeSena and Yu Jae Myong, the animator. When that voice meets that animator, there's like a little magic combination. I think that Aaron wrote really well for Iroh, and really humanized him, and with Mako, you know, it just made him such a lovable character. So there's all these great little, like, chemistry moments that just work between the talent on the show.So Iroh wasn't originally planned as the sweetie he became... Full interview here
