LMAO @ Dan I carry a CDL class B driver's license. I am able to drive utility trucks, rack trucks.. anything that is not a combination trailer. In NY, we have special endorsements- which covers air brakes, hazmat, tanker, passenger, etc. I have air brakes and hazmat endorsements on my license. Now the deal is, when you renew your license here, you still have the CDL class license. Though, you do have to submit a physical to the DOT yearly in order to remain compliant to their guidelines of maintaining a CDL. I also know for a fact, that if you wish to drive a passenger vehicle (limo, bus) you have to take a special passenger endorsement and take a new road test to show you oblige to the road rules of carrying passengers (stopping at railways, turning on marker lights when loading and unloading, etc.). The same holds true here for motorcycles. You have to carry a typical class D driver's license and take an endorsement and road test to obtain a motorcycle license. If you still want to go to the prom in heavy duty machinery, this gal will only sit upon a backhoe.. preferably a lager CAT, if you will.

We'll just start calling SS, DMV instead. So if you one of those handy dandy CDL passenger class licenses, Dan- please go visit our local DMV. You know what's ironic, is I used to have a CDL Class A license to drive anything: doubles, triples, tankers, hazmat, buses. However, I'm pretty sure it didn't cover driving a limo. I have let that license expire though. I don't really need it in IT. I still remember how to drive heavy construction equipment, though. You wanna go in a heavy duty articulated front end loader? We can park wherever we want! Wow dan tripples sound kinda umm scary.lol @gug sorry I haven't got back to your pm it got baried in my big ole pile and I'm working on answering it now *hugs*

My kind of gal! =D (Grangran too!)Those endorsements you mentioned aren't just NY, they are federal standards now, I believe. I basically got tired of submitting a DOT physical form every year, since I lived 1 hour from the DMV office, and 2 hours (all one way, in opposite directions) from the doctor's office. I had the passenger endorsement too, for awhile, but dropped it. I can't remember why. Good thing I don't need any of that anymore to use the really fun stuff. Backhoe it is then. I am guessing you are talking about the general loader/backhoe combination. I was a pro with one of those: 2 stick or 4 stick. The articulated loader was still my fav, though. Just the raw power of it was... thrilling(?). Maybe after the prom we can find a nice quiet construction yard and have a machine vs machine dual!

My Tonka truck vs. yours! I was pretty sure those standard were federal.. I just wasn't totally sure and didn't want to risk sounding stupid. I was indeed referring to the bucket and plow combination. While power is a wonderful thing, function was all the more a necessity for the job I had, once upon a time. I was in utility construction- underground electric to be exact. (I still hold my IBEW book) Digging was just as important for me as plowing my mess clean- thus why I adore the bucket feature. having to trench a hole by hand sucks... but I assure you on a good health day (when I am not in this condition), I can still dig you a 6'x6' hole faster than a cemetery worker. Having to dig such a hole is never a good way to end a date.

ROFL I luves you guys.lol
Oh and and if anyone one was wondering. A class A usually pertains to vehicles with a gross combined (trailer and tuck weight) weight of 26,001 and over and this varies by state. I've actually herd of 1 ton duallies (F350/3500 series pickups) being pulled over near weight stations and being requried to be weighted and I found that kinda odd.lol
Just another clarification a CDL and class A are not exclusive for instance some states or jurisdictions will fine you for not having a CDL if you tow a trailer or other tow able item that makes you money even if you under the legal weight limit. Example a trailer that carries a race car.
oh and gug you would love it where I live I'm about a mile and a half from a Western states CAT.lol
Wow that was hellalisly random of me sorry about that.

The early bird gets the worm, love. Who says I didn't already dig it? What you should be worrying about is whether or not I put an order in for your headstone.

*hugs Hok* Ty. So nice to see you again as well. I am shocked to see you back using just 'Hok'. I was so used to you having this long title within your name. Yeah. I know realize that long names sometimes stink. Hok says it all. xD

Thanks for flattered me by assuming I have some sort of talent. lol
