hmmm... the style is definitely different. if i had to compare i would say that it sounds kinda U2/REM ish not a lot of the old linkin park "metal". Most of the songs don't have the amount of sound layering found in Hybrid Theory and Meteora. It totally has a political message to, but then what artist out there doesn't now adays. Personally, I rank it last out of all their releases.

I wouldn't say it sounds like U2 or REM because they always have the same sounds and all of their songs on one album are alike linkin park has more differences in the album..
also linkin park has never been metal...
linkin park = hard rock/rap or linkin park = alternative rock
but not metal

*cough*
[/u]or rap-rock, has also influenced some of the most recent music styles such as nu metal.[/quote]
All good. After listening through the cd a couple more times i would have to say my favorite song is "Leave out all the Rest"
Even though i say it's not their best release it is by no means a bad CD. I just prefer more of the synthesized sound layering + heavy bass found in some of their other songs.

Linkin Park has its own style, they're just that awesome. And my favorite songs from the new album are "In Pieces" and "No More Sorrow." I also adore the harmonization at the end of "The Little Things Give You Away."

I haven't listened to the album all the way through yet but I definitely love it. I think my favorite songs on there are Take Out All the Rest and Shadow of a Day. I just really love the style they're using now. It's softer but still them all the way.

My fav is Little Things Give You Away.... actually, I like them all very much. I do think this this their second best album.... Hybrid Theory is their best, but Meteora disappointed me.... it sounded too much like their 1st album.

I just listened to more of it and I love Hands Held High. I think it's a beautiful song with really meaningful lyrics.
