I love these books! Some of them I have read are: Wolf Moon <-- Nice. Blood and Chocolate <-- Greatly disliked Marked <-- Great!!! Beastly <-- Not really vampire/werewolf, but I loved it to death! The characters felt really real.

There is also the Kitty series by Carrie Vaughn which is pretty good. I love that series. I'm on the third book. I haven't read any vampire books... I'm a werewolf. Go werewolves! That, and I read witch books. I am reading the Sweep series and this book called Wicked. it's a different Wicked.

I read the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton - it's got vampires, wereanimals (cuz there's more than one type), and a bit of crime in it too.

I'm kind of annoyed with vampire or werewolf books. They're so mainstream and it's hard to find a good one, anyway.

You can never go past the legendry “The Vampire Chronicles series” by the very amazing Anne Rice.
Another amazing vampire book is the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, its great and brings in life to the good old Dracula legend!!!

I'm kind of annoyed with vampire or werewolf books. They're so mainstream and it's hard to find a good one, anyway. I know. I used to think of all the vampires in TV, books and movies as some sort of triumphant comeback, but it's starting to get a tad ridiculous. But if you're looking for a good vampire book that isn't of the "Twilight" series (which is actually quite good, if a little drawn-out and unrealistic, even for a fantasy) or isn't part of the whole neo-vampire-romanticism, I would go with Anne Rice's "Vampire Chronicles". It's a classic. Old-school vampire time!

I've read some of the books you listed up there, and they are wonderful, though not as exciting or as good as Twilight, I don't think anything could compare to those.

^No, but I think we supernatural fiction lovers should read it in honor of the vampire that started it all.
Hey are there any original werewolf tales?
And speaking of vampires...
I'm taking a break from my werewolf and witch books, and starting on vampire books! My older sister lent me two books: Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck, both written by Christopher Moore.
Anyone heard of these?

What about the original vampire book: Dracula by Bram Stoker? Anyone? Anyone? Seriously, if you haven't read that book yet, READ IT. The nightmares are completely worth it. Beat me to it. Can't help but love the classics.

I'm not a big vampire, though I haven't completely hated the books by Poppy Z. Brite I've read in that genre. My favorite book by her, however, is "Drawing Blood". It took place in a world where vampires exist, but I don't recall anything but cameos from characters from her other books. It's also the only book I've read from her that isn't overly gloomy.
I can't seem to remember who wrote it, but there was also a YA book called "Dark Angel" that I was entertained for a little while by as well.

"Lord of the Vampires" is an awesome book,it's from the trilogy "The Diaries of the Family Dracul" by Jeanne Kalogridis, its the last one in it but its awesome, abraham van helsing kills vampires(obviously)and the more he kills the stronger her gets and as he gets stronger vlad tsepesh gets weaker,so he calls on elizabeth bathory for help and its this whole...battle against all of them and its just...wow...I don't know...it's great though.
