Wow, a russian and a chinese person, an odd pairing, but tif your in love, who cares!? XD russian x chinese? indeed uncommon. love knowing bondaries? uncommon as well! Sorry if I get into a little bit of a debate here, but do you think that an American being married to a Chinese person or to a Russian person is uncommon too? Or how about Americans marrying Mexicans? In fact I heard that Chiang Ki Check's son married a Russian woman! So who cares if it's uncommon! I mean look where China is on the map! It's right next to Russia! So what are the chances of a Russian moving to China and a Chinese moving to Russia? Very slim but it could happen. And since the two characters in the book were both communists I believe, then I think that they made a good couple. Who cares about race and ethnicity. Once again I apologise for the debate mood that I'm in. He he he.

If I was, I'd be against my sister's marriage (who I might add is Black and is married to an Indian. now how often do you see that pairing?), which I am indeed not. Plus, you hafta be more specific when you mean "American." I mean, you could be talking about a Mexican or a Canadian or if you're referring to a person who lives in the U.S. you can be talking about an African American or a Chinese American to which if a Chinese person where to marry a [Chinese] American that wouldn't seem to be very uncommon, right? Ok maybe I'm being too much of a smart@$$ above. Sorry. What me and Kitty meant was that they are uncommon but as long as it's about love, who the hell cares. Simply a harmless comment is all. So far in the Joy Luck Club, I got a little sad at the beginning, but I guess I'll have to read further in the book to get to the emotional stuff.

...Back to the books...
The end of A Tale of Two Cities makes me cry every time. I love Sydney Carton so much... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the only Harry Potter book that made me cry. It was the scene where Harry brings his parents back that really got me. *pokes sig*

So far in the Joy Luck Club, I got a little sad at the beginning, but I guess I'll have to read further in the book to get to the emotional stuff. I know this is going to sound really funny, but I don't just mean a certian type of American, I mean any American. I didn't really mean any type of racial or ethical background. I mean Americans are all mixed from what I know. So but when it comes right down to it, it really doesn't matter what race marries what race. It really depends on the person. But there are issues when it comes to culture sometimes. But I think if a person can learn to accept and understand their spouce's culture, then everything will be fine! But yah sorry I got into a debate mood. But yes I have seen the Joy Luck Club movie, and heck I burst into tears at the end. I've also been to China. God I miss that place! But sadly I haven't really read the Joy Luck Club, but Amy Tan sent me a copy of the book. It's not a joke either.

^I had to read part of the Joy Luck Club for school. I didn't cry at any part of it though.

I just read A Thousand Splendid Suns and that book made me so sad. It's one of the only books that has made me cry.

It's about two women of different generations in the Middle East. I absolutely loved it as well has The Kite Runner, written by the same author.

It's about two women of different generations in the Middle East. I absolutely loved it as well has The Kite Runner, written by the same author. Wow sounds interesting. I read a sad book about the middle east. It's called, that is if I haven't already listed it, "Companions of Paradice". Well it's about this Bristish chick in the 18 hundreds and it's set in Afganistan and Pakistan. She married a man from India due to the fact that Pakistan was a part of India back then. And the British were trying to control Afganistan. And techically she lives with her aunt and uncle and they didn't approve of this marriage. But it's a sad and happy ending at the same time. And I also come to find out that perhaps terrorists have existed back then. Because there were some characters in the book that thought that they would be with a bunch of beautiful virgin women in the afterlife if they committed terrorism. Ha what a bunch of morons they were!

Deathly Hallows. I cried at two of the deaths, and at one of the character's flashback story.
The ending of Brave New World was also plenty sad.

I have to admit that "Brave New World," really cracked me up for some reason, but yes the ending was really desturbing I have to admit to that.
