I participated in NaNoWriMo last year and finished that novel (how to summarize, how to summarize... alchemy, vampires without the blood-drinking, and anarchy, fun.) I'm still editing right now, but I definitly plan to go again next year (and hopefully get something done in the meantime.) Earth King Sunny: What do newspapers have to do with anything? We're fiction writers! Fact=pfft.

well these days people look for credentials in some shape or another, its really rough to get into bookwriting these days. Its far easier to get into television and movies, and I would feel better if i got into a amataur film career as I am interested in the field.

It may be a hard career, but people need to remember how important literature is (Not to point fingers, but my whole English class!). A challenge, I find, makes everything more rewarding.

i agree. although, you can accomplish a lot if you have the right help. im grateful enough to have my english teacher for help(i mentioned in an earlier post she has written a book). im in the middle of typing it and ive finished editing it for the second time. but i heard the publishers make you finish a book by a set date. well excuse me, we sometimes dont have the creative flow. and SOME pesky agents just HAVE to make you revise your book OVER AND OVER again. so dont come crying to me. we sometimes cant help it. i cant do dates that well. youll just have to wait untiol i finish it. but i already have plans for a sequel. so hooray for that.

well ya never know...it could be published one day. but dont give up! i never have. im gonna post the first chapter of my book today and next week ill post chapter 2
Chapter 1: Ichigos’ Tale
We start off our story with a girl. A normal girl with a normal friend; but, little did she know that tonight; she wasn’t going to be a normal girl with a normal friend, anymore. “I’m home!” announced Ichigo. Ichigo was a young, innocent, and pure 13 year old with brown hair tied with black ribbons into pigtails. She was wearing a short grey skirt and grey school vest as her uniform and had a white shirt underneath her school vest. There was a black bow on the collar and the skirt was halfway to her knees, a mini skirt. She had long white stockings up to her knees and she had black slip on tennis shoes with a tiny bow on them. She had a black backpack going around her shoulder down to her waist and she had sea green eyes. “Sissy!” cried her younger sister, Tohru. Tohru had on a full-length pink dress with a collar on it and long brown hair tied in a single braid. Her green eyes were sparkling with happiness. “Hey Tohru!” Ichigo threw down her backpack and embraced her sister with a hug. “How was your day?” asked Tohru. Ichigo replied, “Well, there was a beginning, middle, lunch, and an end.” “Sissy…” said Tohru sternly. Ichigo giggled, “It was good.” “Great! ‘Cause we have a new member of our tea party! C’mon!” said Tohru, while dragging her sister. “Whoa, Tohru! I’ve got a spelling and grammar packet, an essay in science, and a sheet of math homework to do; and you- know- who is coming to help out!” said Ichigo. “You mean, K-chan?!” squealed Tohru. “Yup.” Replied Ichigo. Tohru was silent for a moment, then she ran into her room and Ichigo began to hear noises as if Tohru was making or setting up something. Then Tohru ran out and screamed, “Tea party’s ready!!” Then Ichigo gave a heavy sigh and grabbed her backpack, she then slowly walked to her room. She then slid open her white bedroom door and laid her backpack next to her table. Her table was oak and close to the ground. It had four cushions around it that had circular patterns of dark blue and dark green on them. It was centered in the room. In the corner of her bedroom was her bed, it had the same pattern as the cushions on it. At the end of her bed was a clear sliding glass door that led to a porch with silver wind chimes. There, was a white chair with a small table for whenever it is needed. Then in between her door and porch was a closet. Next to the bed was a small dresser that was oak with a single photo on it. It was her prized possession. ‘Ding dong!’ The doorbell rang and Ichigo went to the door and opened it. It was K-chan. She had dirty blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. She had a grey backpack that goes around her shoulder, and her school uniform was grey and has a black shirt underneath. It was long sleeved and had a black bow on the neck. Her skirt matches the shirt and went to her knees. She had black tennis shoes on and her blue eyes seemed a little dull. “Hiya!” said K-chan. “Hey! Come on in!” greeted Ichigo. K-chan took off her shoes and stepped up onto the living room floor. “So, have you started any of the homework?” asked K-chan. Ichigo shook her head. “No. Not yet. I just practically got home myself.” “K-chan!!” shouted Tohru. Tohru ran up to her and hugged her. “Come on! Come on! I have a surprise for you!” announced Tohru. K-chan said quietly to Ichigo, “Tea party?” Ichigo stated blankly, “Tea party.” K-chan began to speak as though she were an announcer, “Next on the agenda is Tohru crying sadly because I won’t join her tea party. After that is homework. Then our walk through the woods by the cave. Then lastly, ice cream. Like, mint chocolate chip?” “Yup.” Answered Ichigo. Then K-chan said, “Cue me saying no…I’m sorry Tohru; but I have homework so I can’t be in your tea party. “Ichigo finished K-chans’ sentence, “Cue the waterworks…” Tohrus’ eyes began to swell and look glassy, and then she ran crying to her room. “It’s become a normal routine, hasn’t it?” Asked Ichigo. “Yes it has.” Answered K-chan. She continued saying, “Shall we go do our homework?” Ichigo then said, “We shall.” And they both headed to her room with K-chan. Ichigo entered her room and sat down at the desk. Both girls began rummaging through their backpacks for their homework. K-chan broke the silence saying, “Oh! I forgot to ask. How was today for you? You know, it has been one year since the accident. “Oh…right.” Said Ichigo quietly. Then she turned around and looked at the photo of her deceased mother. The picture shows her mom with her arm around Ichigos’ shoulder and Tohru is on their moms’ shoulders. The mother is giving a peace sign with the arm that’s around Ichigo and is grinning. Ichigo has one eye close and looks as though she’s laughing and Tohru giving a huge smile. Ichigo continued, looking at back at K-chan, “It was better than I thought it would be. I have to work tomorrow too.” Ichigo gave a sigh. “Yeah, by the way, has Mr. Mamouru given you a rent yet?” asked K-chan. “No. He’s not charging me anything because of what happened. He was my mom’s best friend. I keep telling him ill give him half of my pay but he won’t accept it.” “Well that’s kind of him.” said K-chan. “Yeah, but that just doesn’t seem right” “What doesn’t seem right?” “Not paying money.” “Oh; well you still have a killer house.” “K-chan!” “Sorry! But you do!” “Let’s just get this homework done and go on our walk.” said Ichigo. So the girls did their homework while Tohru played in her room.
Finally, the girls finished their homework and went for their walk. “You behave, okay Tohru? Remember, no answering the phone or door unless I say it’s me.” Ichigo said to Tohru. “Yes sissy.” Replied Tohru obediently. Ichigo walked out with K-chan and locked the door. She slipped the key into her coat pocket. Their hands started to turn pale from the cold. The girls began their walk and entered the forest. As they began to gaze at wildlife Ichigo had spotted a deer while K-chan saw an owl. Eventually, the girls came up to the cave at the end of the trail where they head back; but something was different about it. Something that wasn’t normally there. There was a light coming out that was white and changed to black, and white again continuously. The girls decided to go in and see what it was; besides what their gut was telling them.

Hm...maybe everyone who wants to can post a little bit of thier stuff here, sort of 'round-robin' style. I'll start? ***** I sneezed. Violently. For about the billionth time. Cleaning out the attic was not as fun as I had imagined. I mean, come on. It was an Attic, with a capital A. It was one of those wonderful dusty, dark, full-of-really-cool-hundred-year-old-stuff attics, the ones where people are always finding ancient treasures and secret rooms and trap doors. That kind of Attic. Not only was it an Attic, (with the capital A), but it was in a House. An old, Victorian style house of the kind that nearly always turns out to be haunted. I sighed dramatically at my fate- to end up in the only House with an Attic that turned out to be completely Boring- but the entire effect was ruined when I got a lungful of thick, musty dust and spent the next little while coughing it back out. “Are you quite all right?” laughed Mara from some obscure corner. I smiled in satisfaction as she, too, started coughing loudly. “That’ll teach you to laugh at your poor suffering friends” I wheezed at her. We’ve been at this for quite some time, and we were getting incredibly hyper. Actually, I think it should be lunch time soon. We got here at seven this morning to help old Mrs. Aldona clean out her house. Me and a few others volunteered to help with the Attic. So far we have sent down nearly fifty old, crumbling cardboard boxes for the others downstairs to take care of. There were about ten completely full of old sepia-toned photos, each neatly labeled and dated. That was where the ‘neatness’ ended. They had all been packed into little envelopes and seemingly tossed into the boxes at random whim. Most of them were so damaged by time and damp that you couldn’t even tell what they might once have shown. We had no end of fun with those before we finally sent them downstairs. A couple of the boxes were crammed full of old paperback books in some unintelligible language. These also showed a lot of time’s wear and tear, and offered at least an hour’s worth of fun as we tried to figure out what they said. The rest of the boxes, strangely, seemed to contain nothing but old, brittle, over-used packing paper. Our most exciting find had been an old, dented cedar-chest. The most exciting thing about it, though, was that it was locked and we could not figure out how to get it open.

My god..thats just sad. With that kind of additude you won't make it as a writer. Do you know how incredibly difficult it is to be a publish writer? I mean it's exausting! And you seriously need to learn how to do revision and show many mistakes that most beginners have like info dumping, and you tell and not show. You need to have some real hardships before you can constider yourself ready for anything needs publicated. And oh, NaNoWriMo is pain...can you write 100,000, words? If we are showing off peices and I might as well do one Muscles were taught, and ready. Eyes focused on whats infront. Voices reverberate in the dense woods, ready for the hunt that was to be accomplished. "Shh! The unicorns can smell us! Those are hydromancers, we need to tread easy with them." A voice whispered behind an elm. His scales gleamed in the light of the three moons above. He gave a wild grin, the drakonian theif knew tonight was the night. "Alright men, close your wings and don't flex your talons." The leader of the bandits comanded as he started to the group of hydromancers on unicornback. "One." The bandits approched slowly eyes gleaming eerily by the moonlight. A young acolyte jerked his head to serched the trees, the hydromancer reached for his staff. "Brothers...." "Two." The hydromancers didn't have time to react the the got on their unicorns and spurred out if the glade, but the acolyte didn't have time. The drakonian bandit king grabbed him. He screamed into the darkness as he saw the pale ends of his temple brothers leave him "Three!" The boy screamed out. "BROTHER BROTHER! HEEELP." He tried to summon a rain spell but he could move under the tight grip, the drakonian had him around the chest, one bad move and the boy could suffocate. The drakonian took off into the air, flying high into the air with prize with them. "No one can help you now...Prince Arion."
