Jacob kind of bugged me in some parts of eclipse. But he seemed like a good "friend" character. Throughout the book I was waiting for Edward to show. I'll have to say that I like Edward better.
I was addicted the first time I read Twilight. I finished it the day I bought the book.

Im a newcomer with the whole Twilight series, and i'll have to let you people know something now... I JUST READ TWILIGHT 3 TIMES IN FOUR DAYS. IN A ROW. It's been giving me the most horrible headache but I deal. Its soooooo ADDICTING. Kinda like Edward said, "Yes, you are exactly my brand of heroin." Twilight and Edward is my heroin addiction now.

***SPOILERS***
I loved Twilight but I was only OK with New Moon. What's funny is that I was never really interested in Edward too much but I really like Jake. I guess Edward's too serious sometimes. However, (you guys'll probably hate me for this) I lost all respect for Bella during New Moon when she was having her 4-month long depression and she was so emo it almost drove me crazy and everyone reading this book is all "Oh! Poor Bella!". Sure it's absolutely fine if she's sad for a week, but it's just so annoying once you've realized how Bella's so dependent to Edward and how desperate she is. Then she tries doing crazy things in the book that almost ends up killing her just so she can hear an imaginary hallucination of Edward. But what really ticked me off in the end was how she was kinda mean to Jake. It was almost as if she was just using him to get rid of her depression and once Edward was back, he didn't really matter anymore. I also found it kind of annoying how all these guys really like her in both of the books. All these guys are fighting over her and if she's as "clumsy or ordinary" as the author describes her as, why do all these people constantly fight over her attention?
Okay, enough rants. I'm sorry you had to read all that. Hopefully, Edward and Jake will come to a mutual understanding in the next book and team up. That'll be so awesome! Still, I think Victoria will be a spy or something for the next enemy to come.

@puresimplicity: I got the sense that she really is extraordinary, but she doesn't see herself as such. (which is pretty common, especially among teenage girls.) And I think Stephenie Meyer really did take it to the broken-hearted extreme, but, c'mon, I'd be a little more than "sad for a week" if the love of my life supposedly rejected me.
I felt pretty much the same as you on my first read-through, but I liked New Moon far better the second and third time around. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I'd read it through again.

When you read through one of the books first, you're racing through it so fast because its so awesome, but if you read it for a second or third time you start to understand it more. I don't get why everyone is making such a big deal over Bella being heartbroken. When Edward left, it was like he took her heart with him, her sense of everything. Edward was everything to Bella, i can't see why you people don't get that. I would act just like her if the love of my life left me like that.

Normal teenage girls don't act that way just because there boyfriend leaves. I also agree with you on not liking Edward as good because he is so serious at times, i like Jake more.

@ Cara: Thanks for the Karma. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thinks so, or else I'd think there's something seriously wrong with me.
@ Zink & Bite Me: Yeah, I guess a book is a better read the second or third time around. I guess my expectations were just too high ever since Twilight. It's as if Twilight is a mix of romance/drama/action and New Moon is the same minus the action.

Gah. Bella's not a normal teenage girl.
Normal teenage girls don't date vampires.
