The Naruto games and their relevant threads seem rather ubiquitous. Do you think we can contain discussion on all of them right here? I can trash the others. Lemme know.

I was hoping that these would follow the trend of the Bleach games, but sadly, they are nowhere near as good.

I haven't heard too much about Clash of Ninja Rev, but it seems similar to the other Clash of Ninja fighting games but with more characters this time maybe? I think it goes up to the Tsunade arc plot-wise. You can probably find game footage on Youtube though.
Rise of the Ninja for the XBox 360 looks amazing though. I'm really, really tempted to save up for an xbox so that I can play this game. Which is kinda silly I guess because if I'm gonna buy a new system, a higher caliber game should be the reason like Portal or something. But Rise looks sooo pretty. <3 And running through Konoha looks like fun. ^^;;
I am looking forward to getting Ninja Destiny for the DS next week though. It looks similar to the Clash of Ninja series, but it goes up to episode 135 or 140 plot/character wise, and has the awesome advantage of me being able to play it during the slow time at work. YES! I'm kinda sad that there's no wi-fi feature though, but I guess the lag would be pretty bad. But what's also really nice is that the US version is really fixed up from the original Japanese version. I think it's really cool that they would take the time to fix up the graphics and frame rate and other stuff instead of just shipping it out and banking on the title to sell it.

I just don't see what the big deal with this whole "Wi-Fi" thing is. Call me old fashioned, but aren't video games supposed to be for amusing ourselves, and having friends over or going to their houses to play with friends? It's getting way out of hand if you ask me.
That said, I only have the first two Clash of Ninja games for the GameCube. I'm actually kinda miffed that the Clash of Ninja games lack the rosters of the Ultimate Ninja games for the PS2, though, I do say "Yay!" that all the Ultimate Ninja games that were out for the PS2 in Japan will still be for the PS2 here in the States. Well, that being the ones that haven't come out in the States yet.
I'm afraid I don't know much about the handheld Naruto games, except that the first Ninja Council goes up to the Chuunin Exam. They look interesting, all the handheld Naruto games, but I've seen too many crappy games made from great TV shows to actually want to play them, for fear that, despite the fact that EVERYONE else likes them, that I, myself, would find them to be made of 73% phailure, and 27% more phailure.

Yes, and the great thing about wi-fi is that it expands that. Instead of just being limited to playing with the people who happen to live near you and also require that they enjoy the same games you do, you can play with fellow fans all over the country and world. If it's 1am and I suddenly want to race someone or have a pokemon battle or whatever, I don't have to fight the computer because I can challenge a real person on wi-fi. And with timezone differences I can probably play with people in Europe, Japan, or Australia where the day has already begun for them. Wi-fi is the next best thing to happen for people who are normally stuck with only the single-player mode. As for Naruto games, this newest DS one will be my first game for the series. Aside from the Xbox 360 one, none of the others have really captured my interest. Although it's kinda hard to judge a game just by viewing the footage. If I had never played pokemon first-hand I would still be under the impression that it looked really boring. It's a shame Blockbuster doesn't rent out hand-held games anymore like they used to.

And what's wrong with Single Player mode? Not everyone who plays games has the time to just jump on whenever and be able to play with a gamer halfway around the world.
Though, I can honestly say that I wasn't particularly fond of the Uzumaki Chroniclesm games for the PS2. I thought they were rather boring compared to the Ultimate Ninja games, IMO.
And I'm sorry, but I think the word "chronicle" is overused.

Nothing! Before wi-fi, single-player was all I could play when it came to most games, and I still like the single-player modes very much. But it's also really fun to have wi-fi as an option, especially since you don't have to depend on others near you in order to play it. And since many DS games have it open to the world, there's always *someone* online and ready to play no matter when it is. ^^ The bigger question of course is if they'll stay connected for the entire time, especially if you win the match. But that's an entirely different topic. I haven't heard too much about the Chronicle games, but since they're for the PS2 I wouldn't be able to play them anyway. ^^;; But yeah, the word chronicle is used quite a lot. Too bad there aren't too many other similarly interesting sounding synonyms for it. Maybe they should just make up a new word for it.

Well, in a nutshell, the Uzumaki Chronicles games are Naruto in a different manner. You're using characters from Naruto, and you develop their skills as ninja, and while you're more or less going about a story set in the Naruto world, you're not pursuing even a very basic, bare-bones version of the plot of the manga and show. It's sort of like the Clash of Ninja games, in that the plot has major liberties taken with it to make it work, but it differs from the Clash of Ninja games in that it's not a fighting game, it's more of a free-roam action-adventurs.
