Totally!!!!! But why break down? Apple's got enough dough$ to make a game console last with good hardware and software, right. Yah but theres some sort of wierd misconception that apple products break easily. I dropped an ipod shuffle from the 2nd floor of a building and it was fine. How did that happen?

Yeah but you know what they do break easily at least mine did, first I had the mini and the crapy buttons stopped working then I had another mini, then I had the nano and I heard they were doing a recal on some because of the screens. And of course one day I woke up and my screen just turned like a fire red, then I got a white nano and that one had reached another quick death not like the others. I had four I refuse I get another one. So basically 2 gave me problems but that's about it. But with Apple it's all love you return and they give you another one most of the time

Did it have any sort of protection? no just this. But i was probably just lucky. I'm surprised, since the substantial weight would OBVIOUSLY cause it to shatter. My Nano fell five feet and broke.

Don't forget that only ~10% of people would play it because it doesn't have that much software for it and what they do what would be ports of xbox 360 games That is actually not entirely true. There are just as many games offered for Apple as there are for PC. And one of the problems that PCs suffer is 50,000 pieces of anti-spyware or any sort of software for the same function, whereas there would be generally one or so for Apple that works better than the other 50,000 for PC.

OMG yes!! So many people with these horrible iPods when the Zen is so much better, and cheaper. But I'm off topic.
Apple wouldn't make it in the console world. It was a miracle that Microsoft did, given they had to share contracts with a bunch of PS2 games. Had it not been for Halo, they wouldn't have done as well as they did. Apple wouldn't know what to market, or whom to market to.
But if Apple did make a console, and if, in the highly unlikely event that it succeeded, it would probably be the prettiest console in history with the catchiest advertising. The commercials would be black sillouhettes of people playing a white video game console against solid color backdrops.

Obviously you've never had a Zen before... The Zen has more features than the iPod and it's soooo much less aggravating. Plus iPod can only play certain media files. Zen plays ALL media files--without converting anything. iPod's have to use iTunes in order to interface with a computer. Zen can use Window's Media Player as well as it's own program. And, you can put music on to a computer from a Zen which makes for awesome backup if your comp crashes, trust me. iPod has licensing and crap. You try to transfer music from an iPod to a comp, the iPod's files are erased. Not to mention, Zen's got an FM radio and can record songs off the radio and store them on the mp3 Player. AND, the best part, they're cheaper. Retail iPod 30G is somewhere around $230. A 30G Zen is around only $200, but I got mine new from the company at $190. More for less basically. But if all you care about is listening to music, then it doesn't really matter.

Yah, the only problem I've had with iPods is transferring music to the comp.
But i've only got one computer, so not that big a deal for me.

Do Zens have the same warranty that the iPods do?
Odds are Apple would be willing to provide similar support for a game system, which would be welcome in light of the recent Red Ring incidents.

The thing I don't like about syncing music with the iPod is that when you want to delete an entire soundtrack or a group of music, you have to delete them one by one, not by deleting a selected group. It's very annoying.

I believe so. I had a friend whose Zen got stolen. He filed a police report and sent a copy to Creative, they sent him another, free of charge. And another friend of mine, hers froze up and she sent it in, had it repaired and they sent it back.
I also wanted to mention that Zen doesn't have the overcharging problem that iPods have. Zens shut off after the battery is full.
