For me, it's the N64 Legend of Zeldas: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. To me, those two games had the best music of all time! Koji Kondo is a GOD of video game music. Although, I must say, Nobuo Uematsu is also a talented composer, along with Koichi Sugiyama, but #1 on my list is Koji Kondo.

Koji Kondo's good, but i feel that what makes him appealing stems from the memory of the games more than the music he makes. He also lacks truly incredible pieces like Uematsu's "One Winged Angel", "Liberi Fatali", and "Zanarkand"

Let's see. Legend of Zelda songs by Koji Kondo. In fact, all of his songs are sexy. One Winged Angel, To Zanarkand, Those Who Fight, and Valley of the Fallen Star by Nobuo are suberb. The piano versions are even better. Motoi Sakuraba's works are good too. He did the music from the Star Ocean series, Valkyrie Profile, and the Tales series. Can't forget about Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve). The Okami Soundtrack was awesome. Poke'mon and Sonic music is ok too. And even though I didn't get into the game, some of the tracks from Xenosaga are good also.

The Command and Conquer series...except C&C3 which has a looped generic track.
The 'Devil May Cry' series.
Augustus Cole's Rap at the end of Gears of War.

i liked the baten kaitos soundtrack... Hooray, someone who has played that game! I loved the music for this too. Other favorites: Chrono Cross FF6, 8, 9, the FFX tracks that Uematsu wrote. Earthbound Kingdom Hearts The celtic theme from MGS1 Intelligent Cube (it's fully orchestrated!) Secret of Mana Legend of Mana goodness...this is getting long. Have quite a few on CD. Has anyone ever heard the Orchestrated Game Concert cds? They're really hard to find...I only have them on mp3 courtesy of the sig other. But they're really great, esp if you like SNES era music.

I really like the Legend of Zelda music, especially from Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, and Ocarina, although TP has some nice songs too. Beyond Good & Evil also has really nice music, and I like many of the Metroid Prime/2/3 songs as well. Pokemon G/S/C had some nice tunes too.

I, myself, if I haven't already said it, am currently addicted to Koichi Sugiyama's music, and the orchestral treatment all his notable works from past Dragon Quest games that made it into DQVIII recieved.
