Oh yeah, the new Eevee-lution! I really like the color pattern, but man it's creepy to think those ribbon trails are flesh. But otherwise it's really cute. It definitely seems like a Contest pokemon to me, so I really hope this is an early hint that the Pokemon Contest feature will be back. I really enjoyed it and missed having it in the B/W games, but at the same time I kinda fear that they won't bring it back until they do the Hoenn remakes. I hope I'll be wrong about that, though.
As for type, I'm leaning towards Normal although I can see the name references to nymph/sylph as being Flying. I think it's curious that they're withholding the type and evolution method though. Makes me think that it must have some tie to the plot or a new feature that they don't want to reveal just yet.
I also like that they revealed something new again so soon; I hope they'll continue this trend of dropping bread crumbs every few weeks, and then hopefully have some big display and playable demo for E3.

Yeah, I did miss the contests, I guess the Pokemon Musicals were supposed to be the equivilent of them, although they weren't that great. (I really liked the Pokestar Studios from B2/W2 though. )

The Musicals were nice, I liked trying to collect all of the different props. But after a while I guess I got bored with it? Aside from the props and original novelty of it, there wasn't anything to keep me coming back. At least with the Contests you could get ribbons. Man, during the Hoenn and Sinnoh days, I spent so much time trying to get every ribbon I could for all of my favorite pokemon. I think my highest amount is 36 ribbons on my shiny Tentacruel Teol (from Emerald), and he still needs to get the 20 Sinnoh contest ribbons. xD;
But anyway, it seems like ribbons in general took a backseat for the B/W series. I wonder if that's partly why I was never super interested in it? Even though the new features like the animation, wild double battles, and the changing seasons are nice, I haven't really picked it up since I finished the main plot and some of the post-plot things. I didn't buy B2/W2 despite hearing a lot of good things about it, but the PokeStar Studios did sound like a really creative and fun feature. I'm gonna have to see if there's a collection video of it on Youtube.

I felt like I should post this here for some reason. As it turns out, the "no sunglasses while climbing vine" thing that was supposedly hinting at customization, as it turns out, was just a bug. If you look at the preview video thing closely during that scene, you will notice that the player's glasses weren't missing, but were just floating around. I hate that this may mean that the customization rumors were false, but it could still be true, because we still have the mirror scene, and the fact that the glasses are seperate from the player (and look kinda odd on him when you think about it).

Ah, yeah, how weird. I wouldn't take it as meaning the customization being proven wrong though -- if anything, it proves that the glasses are removable! Well, maybe. I suppose they would design all of these shapes separately and then put them together, so even if the glasses are not supposed to be removed, the hat would still be completely colored. But then, if they were supposed to be tied together, it seems like the bug would pull the hat along with it.
I don't know, but aside from it being a bug, it's fun to think that maybe the forest is haunted and this is plot related. So like, when you use those rope jumps, a Gastly or something takes one of your items and you have to chase it down to get it back and that leads you to a new area. Or it's just something fun that happens. I wish they had more of that kind of stuff in games.

Haha that would be pretty interesting if that's what happens! XD

More X/Y news... there's a new form for Mewtwo, and there's in-game video of it battling like there was with Sylveon. Seems it's going to be featured in the newest movie (16) as well, with Sylveon playing a role in the Pikachu short that plays before it.
The head/crown design kinda reminds me of Dialga, but it'll be curious to see what the story is. Hopefully it'll be a good one, since it's connecting to Mewtwo.

So apparently Ruby and Sapphire are getting their long awaited remakes for the 3DS, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, to be released worldwide this November. There isn't any real footage of the game released yet (aside from a spinning 3D Groudon and Kyogre), but the cover art sure looks nice. Possibly of the Mega Evolution forms? I haven't even finished X yet, but I like that these main games are getting worldwide releases now. I don't know if I'll buy it, but I look forward to seeing videos of the new and improved Hoenn. It was always my favorite region, even with all of those water routes.

So before Pokemon Sun and Moon released, I was super psyched for it because the region is based on Hawaii (!!!) which is the best news ever (!!!!) Even though they destroyed the part of the island representing where I grew up ( !!) but it's still wonderful and I love how Hawaii-esque most of the new pokemon feel. (Especially Mudbray and Pyuukumuku. I'm in love.) But... I've stopped playing after the first week. In fact I went back to playing Pokemon Platinum. I can't explain it! This game looks and IS wonderful. The plot, the pokemon, the graphics, the new features and battle system, everything is great. But outside of collecting Pokebeans and picking berries in PokePelago, I just can't get back into the playing the game. I'm somewhere early on the third island and I just.. don't want to go any further? I can't understand it. Is this what getting too old for a game is like?
