I understand that Sephiroth is a very popular character, but he's sort of overrated.
He is. But thats what makes him cool. Hes larger than life.
Sure, Kefka is a better villain, but if Sephiroth walked up to me and said "Kaneda, I need you to kill a man," I'd be right on it.
Yeah, Sephiroth is the kind of man you don't say "No" to when he tells you he wants you to kill someone, but, why would he ask someone else to do so, when he has more than enough power and ability to do it himself?
Recently, I've been obsessed with Suikoden V. While I originally voted for Osmund Saddler, I have new favorites on my list. From Suikoden V, I have two favorite villains in Lord Marscal Godwin, and his son, Gizel. They would use assassins who killed Marscal's wife to kill the legitimate Queen of Falena to usurp the throne, they would then release propaganda blaming a Queen's Knight for the death of the Queen, then after some time, they'd try to kill all the Beavers, intelligent semi-anthro beaver people, and the Dwarves. I like them because I love to hate them and their trice damned nobility.
Ah, Gonzalezu! Kare wa tsuyoi! Kare ni kattara shilubaa pointo!
You just got NINJA'D!
You can't see me. You can't see me. Neither can He. No one can see me.

Gizel and Lord Godwin are pretty evil...they come in a close second for me,personally I think that Luca Blight from Suikoden II is my first. The Godwin's really planned their crao out which is awesome but with Blight, although he had a dang good strategist on his side he still just went around and slaughtered people and wiped out whole villages for kicks. That's pretty evil....barbaric...and evil. I would rather die as the result of a well thought out plan than randomly told by some royal guy to get down on all fours and act like a pig only to be laughed at and slashed in half.
