Plus, I download illegally, will EA report me? It is ridiculous. Yeah, that's something you tell people, Grandi. Yeah, I am only an administrator at Avatar-Episodes.com, the place where you can download episodes. Big secret.

if EA gave me $50 i'd turn you in j/k I was like you before i got out of college and relised how much it sucks to have your code stolen by people that don't want to pay for it. If you like a game you should support the people that made it so they can keep making games. That being said, if you don't like what a dev studio is doing, please by all means boycott them. That's your right of choice.

Just don't believe everything that comes out of joystiq. Did you hear about TP for GCN being canceled? Yeah, that was joystiq that perpetuated that rumor, and it turned out to be false. They blow things completely out of proportion. Here is the ad program explained by DICE: www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=11300Basically: 1) EA assigns you a random number (to them, you are a random number among millions) 2) You look at a billboard you find interesting 3) EA records how you look at it (what angle, how long, how close, etc) 4) The info is sent to EA along with number you got assigned, and your IP. Nothing else (They use your IP to find out what region you are in, and display the appropriate ads). That's it. EA can't look at your number and dig up your information. Want to know how the process works? Get your search bar ready! Take these numbers, and find out it's social security number, it's address, it's bank information and it's name. 2963651087 10.7.0.12 If you can do that, go sign up for the FBI or CIA, since you're doing more than EA can. Also, the terms spyware and adware are being thrown around like they are true. Spyware: any software that covertly gathers information about a user while he/she navigates the Internet and transmits the information to an individual or company that uses it for marketing or other purposes
EA tells you they are installing the software. Also, the program doesn't look at your info while you use the internet. Spyware secretly gathers information while you use your internet browser. EA's program does neither. Adware: a software application in which advertisements are displayed while the program is running, esp. in pop-up windows or banners, and which often is installed without the user's knowledge or consent; also called advertising-supported software
There no banners, no pop ups, no windows opening, the only ads that appear are on billboards. The program does nothing outside of BF2142. The ad program does absolutely nothing outside of BF2142. The program is part of 2142, and as such, it does not act on it's own while BF2142 is not running. Also, it does not monitor anything outside of BF2142. Now, I do agree with Grandi that the game should be cheaper. They are making money off the ads they now have in this game. Money that can be hacked off of the game's price.
