I just watched the dub trailer (yes i'm slow) and i think picking Johnny Boech (yes i know i spelled it wrong, he plays ichigo on the bleach dub) was a miss cast. He would have made the perfect Suzaku ala his Vash from Trigun.
Also season 2 has started! WOOOO.

IDK, I think Johnny Young Bosch will do a decent job. We won't know til we hear it. Of course, I've never seen the Japanese version, so I may be a little bias. Atton, you're not slow. I have YET to see the dub trailer. Where did you see it?

it's on the 1st page yeah that's the problem with watching japanese dubs, you get way used to the character's tone being a certain way.

*smacks forehead* Duh, I should have know to look on the first page! I'll go watch it. I can't wait for it though! The show, I mean.
I know what you mean, Atton. Like when I watched Bleach in Japanese first, then watched the dub. I still don't like Hitsugaya's dub voice!><
EDIT: Wow! I watched the first episode (with subs) and it's sooooo good! I can't wait to watch it in English, so I can pay more attention to the action, and to reading the subs. XD

You can go watch the 1st ep of Code Geass on adult swim's home page www.adultswim.com/video/index.htmlHaven't seen all of it, but Suzaku isn't bad but Lelouch sounds more like a spoiled rich kid. Not bad all in all. PS. NOT a fan of C.C. voice WAYYYYYYY too much over acting on her part. Hopefully she'll figure that out sooner than later.

I'm not impressed with this series. Part of the problem is that it tries too hard to encompass too many genres and styles, which leaves the impression of novelty without real substance.

After the episode premiered on adultswim, I have to say that I like it so far. Lelouch is an interesting character and the plot of the anime is definitely different from any other anime I have watched. One thing I noticed was the "Power of the King" that Lelouch receives through a contract at the end of the episode from the green-haired girl is similar to Light receiving the Death Note in the first episode of Death Note. They both use their power to kill "evil" people right away. Light with criminals and Lelouch with the Britannian soldiers. What is even stranger is why would Lelouch's best friend from childhood at least "appear" to be killed in the first episode? In addition, this episode provided good background on the war and how Britannia continues to take innocent lives within Area 11 (Japan). To sum it up, this episode leaves me somewhat confused but I'll be fine one some more episodes come.
Lastly, I would like to say that it was quite clever to reveal the reason behind the episode's name: The Day the Demon God was Born at the end of the episode. I didn't get it until the last scene.

I agree that the first few eps are confusing. Personally when I started watching it wasn't until the 5th ep that I was hopelessly addicted to the show. I'm from a unique perspective in that I've never seen death note so to me the idea is very orginal. Monk yeah I would agree with you at 1st, you might want to hold off till there's several eps out before watching it. If possible I'd wait till the 1st 5 eps are out and then go back and watch all of them back to back.

Been looking forward to watching this, waiting to catch it on TV... then the stupid DVR only caught a few minutes of it, so I had to watch it online anyway. Definitely confusing so far, but interesting. Look forward to figuring out what the heck's going on.

I liked the episode! I thought it was done pretty well. The Voices were pretty good or tolerable. The only thing that bugged me was that they cut the ending song short! I love that song and they cut it short. But it's ok since I"m still watching the Subs online. Keep watching, people, cuz it gets better!
Some news: The second season was licensed by Bandai already. Maybe we'll be seeing it later this year.

Today's episode was pretty good. It was interesting to see how Lelouch used chess pieces in making his moves in battle but today's episode made one thing clear. Lelouch does sound exactly like Ichigo from Bleach. Not that it is a suprise because Johnny Yong Bosch is the VA for both dubbed characters. Still, it would have been nice if he made Lelouch's voice more unique. I feel like I hear Ichigo everytime Lelouch talks now. What suprised me was at the end when Lelouch ordered Governor Clovis to delcare all Britannians and elevens equal and for a cease fire without using the power of Geass. He used a gun and then kneeled down before telling Clovis that he was his younger brother Lelouch. Basically, the episode left me pretty confused. Based of this, I am thinking there is a connection between Lelouch and the emperor of the Britannian Empire. What did tick me off was how strong the Knightmare frame Lancelot is compared to all the other knightmares that Kallen and the rebels were using.

First of all, I want everyone to know that I'm watching this on Adult Swim and I don't want to be spoiled please and thank you. ^_^
Secondly, this is a very thought-provoking anime. It reminds me of Gundam, Death Note, and Age of Empires (yes the old but still awesome strategy game) all rolled into one. Lelouch is a conventional hero with a twist, especially now that I know that he is a member of Britannian's royal family. I'm curious about the hatred for his family and his country; the reasons behind it.
Thirdly, Lancealot, compared to Lelouch's capabilities, seems for now on equal footing so I don't mind its strength in comparison to other knightmares. The only thing I didn't like was that he was able to pilot it so smoothly being injured and it being his first time.

I'll just say that Lelouch's connection will be explains fairly soon and is one of the major crux of the show. As for the Lancelot it's the 1st 7th generation knightmare frame advance prototype. The Sutherlands that Britains use are from the 5th generation.
Basically, it's like comparing 1st generation jet fighters to most advance modern day ones.
