I watched both episodes so far ... or was it three? Anyway, I've seen the beginning of the series and I can honestly say I'm not impressed. The story is good, I suppose, and I like the art, but it's not moving as quickly as I thought it might.

the third episode aired this morning. So far it's moving fast enough for my taste... I like the fact that Shu hasn't instantly mastered his Shadow...

Isn't this the series that copies its art from the DBZ style of drawing?

Now that you mention it, it does kind of look like DBZ. But there are probably lots of animes that do. Actually I'd say this looks more like Digimon, and I've never even really watched that. And I like the look of this more than either of those things.

I watched a couple of episodes and it didn't grasp my interest enough to keep watching. Someone above said it has a digimon feel to it and I agree. I have just grown out of this genre of anime.
Akira Toriyama's art is still nice to see.

IT's pretty good! I've never played the game or anything, but I like it. Seems interesting enough and seems to fit in nicely into the Toonami line up (that's when I watch it).

Well, so far I think the story could be okay, I mean I've seen much worse. And I think it's actually a bit clever at times, kind of defies anime cliches (in my previous siggy I had a quote from Zola: "These guys certainly have an arrogant attitude. What makes them think I'm gonna sit here and wait until they finish merging before I attack?") I really like little touches like that, though on the other hand alot about the show is pretty standard fare. It's hard to say yet how long the show will hold my interest. For now I guess what I like best about it is I think Zola's pretty and has an awesome piratey look....

i love this show now. I really like the japanese opening called "Friend" I liked it better in Japanese though. I love kluke and jiro.
Has anyone watched it online?

For now I guess what I like best about it is I think Zola's pretty and has an awesome piratey look.... Now there's something you and I can agree on, for all we disagree on. Much like Misa is the only reason I watch Death Note, Zola's going to be the only reason I watch Blue Dragon til some seriously interesting things start happening. Hero leaving his home village because the bad guys attack and won't stop while he remains there? Boring! Arrogant rival who is so blind to his own lack of power/ability that he almost gets himself and everyone else killed? How many times can that be done? Hero and childhood female friend come close to admiting feelings for one another, but are interrupted? Give me a break, already. Your statement about anime cliches could not be more true, though. Pirate looking main character? Awesome. Shadows that can attack people? Sweet. Witty lines? Hey, a good quote goes a long way.

Meant to mention last week, while watching the show I tried an Açaí juice called Zola. Because that's the sort of thing that amuses me. Also... last week I think there was someone who was sneaking around, never got a good look at her, but I had a hunch it might be Zola (same hair, though she wasn't wearing a headscarf). But whoever it is appears to have shown up again this week. Still didn't get a great look at her, but at least a bit better than the last episode. And she got ahold of the book that Zola wanted. I have a feeling they may be related. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of her in the future...
