Oh my goodness... I've seen more episodes and now I'm totally in love. I adore the characters - is it sad to say I want to know Mugen, Jin, and Fuu in real life? This show just gets more and more awesome... One thing, though - I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same way. I think the dub for Cowboy Bebop is great - Steve Blum *is* Spike Spiegel to me - but I'm finding myself greatly preferring the Japanese voices for Samurai Champloo. Especially Mugen. Which is weird, since Steve Blum does his voice too for the English dub. But in English, Mugen just sounds like your average guy with a bit of an attitude. In Japanese, he sounds insane - which is how I like him. The guy who does Mugen's voice in Japanese is just a wild man, very fitting I think for Mugen's personality. I just love him.

I think that was "Gamblers and Gallantry," right? I haven't seen them all, so I can't make a full determination, but I love "Bogus Booty" and "The Art of Altercation." Good stuff there.

^I just watched the 9th one last night on AS, it was the one about Jin and Fuu getting captured and Mugen has to deliver a head to somebody. It was funny and cool at the same time.

I decided to get back into it since Avatar is ... whatever it is.
I just watched episodes 13 and 14 -- Misguided Miscreants I & II. So far those were the best episodes I've seen. II is especially amazing.
I'm not watching the dubbed episodes though. I'm watching the subbed. I'll have to try dubbed at least once because I think the dialogue in SC is more suited to a western style translation than some of the others. I can barely get through a dubbed version of Death Note. I'm going to stop trying soon.
Anyway, I'm glad I decided to start watching again. Especially since I chose two such incredible episodes to restart with.

I have to confess I prefer the sub in this case. The English dub isn't bad (and it features Steve Blum, the swoon-worthy voice of Spike in Cowboy Bebop) - but some of the spirit of the show is lost in the translation, if that makes any sense. The voice actor for Mugen, especially, is just so darn unique that it's hard to replicate - there's this battle cry that he does (you might have heard it in a few of the episodes you've seen) that features a kind of wild, rolled "r" sound that's fantastic. That's missing in the English version. Also, I think the voice of Japanese Jin is Teh Smex. Sooooooo smooth. I loves me some Jin. Misguided Miscreants is fabulous - and the ending of Part 2 is perfect. Just perfect, with Mugen walking down the beach... I'll stop there, but you know what I mean, Maha. I also love the fact that Jin and Mugen really do like each other, but keep couching it in terms of "Remember, I'm the one who's supposed to kill you," and "You didn't think I'd die before I had the chance to kill you, right?" Have you had a chance to see Gamblers and Gallantry yet? It's a must for any Jin fan.

I don't think I have seen G&G. I've been trying to go in order and I just happened to pick 13 last night because it seemed like the right spot. So if it's after 14 I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it. I enjoyed 13/14 so much though I'm sure I'll be trying to catch an episode or two every day.

G&G is episode 11, I think... if you need a link to all 26 episodes of the series, I can hook you up.
