@nandi: DONT EVEN GO THERE. THEY ARE LIKE. MY FAVORITES. But wouldn't that just be typical. It was sort of a pun...Roy being blind and all. But from what I've seen...very few fans have much to worry about... dang...spoiler tags didn't work...

Haha, I totally cried while reading it. xD;; I'm happy/satisfied with it all though, and I like that there's room for fandom and OVAs. I'm elated for Scar's ending though, hee! ^__^ There were a number of parts that correlated to the first anime's ending, and I'm so glad his wasn't one of them.

Ahh, I have to say - I loved the ending, and felt like it was really earned. It's a satisfying conclusion, and yet it leaves the door open for all kinds of other possibilities. If Arakawa wanted to do more books, omakes, or gaiden - she certainly has enough material! And I would welcome it - we have Roy and Riza's new adventures in Ishbal, and of course the Elric brothers' travels to the East and West to seek ways to use alchemy to help people. The possibilities are endless. After having been disappointed with so many series finales in the past (yes, "Avatar: The Last Airbender," I'm looking at you), it's refreshing to have one that really feels good. Mike and Bryan, take notes from Ms. Arakawa - THIS is how it's done!

I like that Arakawa's ending was happy without being unrealistic.
And I REALLY love how she handled Hohenheim's character at the end. I really, really felt for him in the end. I thought it was very impressive.

From what I've read...here and in other places...most fans are very happy with the ending. Can't say that for Avatar...lots of unhappy people after that (I'm one of them). You know, there's an Avatar marathon on this weekend...and I forgot all about it (I totally missed Water...and Earth's starting right now (and the TV isn't even on)). There was a time I would have plonked down to watch the whole thing all over again. But anyway... I was pretty happy with the way FMA ended...there are some things I would have liked to see some confirmation between Roy and Riza (but I kind of take that as a given...behind closed doors) for example...and weren't we promised Scar's real name? but they're minor complaints.

I have those same minor complaints, but I do love how open it was left - it leaves the fans whimpering happily "Sequel? Yes? Maybe?" Lol
