NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! *milks the giant cow* can i watch a SINGLE good anime without having to listen to crispin freeman? i used to like him when i only knew him as zelgadis, but then i met him at a-kon 12 and tried to ask him some questions about slayers and he was all "HAVE YOU SEEN RECORD OF LODOSS WAR? WATCH RECORD OF LODOSS WAR! I PLAY 3 PARTS IN THAT SHOW! ALSO YOU SHOULD WATCH IRRESPONSIBLE CAPTAIN TYLOR!" 9__9 and it seems like all the interviews i've seen of him lately he sounds so full of himself. >/
well, there's another dub i'll be shunning. *shun shun shun*

I got the dub dvd on Friday! It's really really awesome, and it didn't take long at all for the voices to grow on me. Mikuru is still annoying, though. :[ Oh yes, and since we're doing this now, here's my favorite Haruhi AMV! She's Just Oblivious

All those AMVs were cool, and the DivX ones were particularly awesome. Or "win." Ah yes, "win" is the latest thing the kids are saying I think, I need to start integrating that into my speech before they move on to the next thing. Are they still saying "owns"? Because they own, too. Anyway, watching stuff like that gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand it makes me miss making my own AMVs and wish my dang WMM hadn't crapped out on me. On the other hand, it reminds me that I've never been and probably never will be anywhere near as good as some people at making AMVs. The effects are just to die... even using WMM, other people could do cooler effects than I ever could, that's gotta take more patience than I have. And some of these vids, the DivX stuff, have mad effects, yo. I don't think I could ever do that, but they're awesome to watch, and match the music quite well, here. Still, it makes me think I really need to buy a new video editor, maybe something to make VidX videos (even if it is a bit annoying having to wait a few minutes for them to load even with cable internet). But... gah, I'm still trying to save money to buy vol 1 (special edition) of the Haruhi dvd. I hope I can afford it before vol 2 comes out next month, dammit.

I found these little dub snippets on youtube. They are not fandubs but I am not sure how long they will stay up though. Snippet Part 1Snippet Part 2I know it is highly unlikely but I hope adultswim gets the dub of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. They are pretty strange so you never know. I even found people on their forums putting it up for suggestion. Take a look HereI am a little confused on which order the episodes are supposed to be watched. Are you suppose to watch episode number anachronically (broadcast order) or episode number chronologically. Check out what wiki says List of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya episodes

I thought the dub was fine. It definately isn't the worst one I have heard, so I'm going to buy this dub when the entire box set somes out.
As far as it being on television goes, AS or Sci-Fi channel are perfectly fine with me. Though I think it has a better chance airing on the Anime Network (which I don't have >_<).

It's up to you, either way is fine. I watched them chronologically, and the dvds are being released in that order as well. But in my opinion, you'll enjoy the ending much more if you watch them anachronically. There's a reason they're ordered the way they are.

I was wondering about the anime network. It is under on demand for comcast digital cable but you need a subscription for it. I looked it up under on demand and it said the subscription is free and all you need to do is sign up.

^ I spoke with a representative from Anime Network at a convention a few months ago, and I was told that the channel was unavailble in my area.
I just stick to be resigned to DVD's. My curse as a country bumpkin.

I think it might be avaliable in my area. Norcal is a pretty big area so it is possible. Has anyone been to this website for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? It is quite interesting. ASOS Brigade Website

There's a reason they're ordered the way they are. yeah, i'd recommend watching them anachronically, even though they're being put on DVD chronologically. the "last episode" has more impact if you watch them in broadcast order, though i will admit it's REALLY hard to get through all those "what the hell are they talking about?!" moments, to say nothing of all the little hints you see referring to the "last episode" in subsequent chronological episodes. (and yes, the dub grew on me. i'm not even that bothered by mikuru. *shakes fist at crispin freeman* *goes back to oggling kyon*)

I watched to episodes in English, and got up to the part "Im gonna kill you, and see how Miss Haruhi reacts!" in the third. But on youtube, I usually listen to Bouken Desho Desho and Hare Hare Yukai alot! *twirls finger*
