That what makes it so sad! He loved Konohagakure and you don't care! But it was so obvious that they only put his love for Konoha in to make you sad when he died, beause he was such a minor character. He was a very minor character, but when he dies they act like he was the main character. (What glitch?)

LOL I was being sarcastic! (It didn't show ) Anyhow, in the end, Kakashi stands by the memorial and this lady walks up. Talking about how he makes up excuses for being late when he hould get there earlier Kakashi says "I did I've been here since..." the screen went black, CN fence, then they replay the scene, up in till "I've been here since...." and black the screen goes again, and the ending credits roll....I will never know since when Kakashi was there!

I know! I saw that, and I was like "WTF?!". But it's ok cuz I had already seen the subs. The funeral DID feel a little forced, but I still got teary eyed when Konohamaru was crying (poor kid).

No matter how minor Sandaime was, it was still sad. I mean, Haku was only important for one season and people cried when he went, too. When you think about it, he is pretty minor.

Maes Hughes on the other hand was a very likeable character who was well developed over the course of 20 episodes. They didnt devote an entire episode to his funeral either, which owuld have ruined it.

Too true. The hokage's funeral episode... bored me. I found Hughes's funeral sadder, by far. And, I didn't like da Sandaime anyway... he was ugly.

No one's said anything about Grave of the Fireflies yet, so I'll go ahead and say just about all of it. That movie was painful to watch. The most sad scenes for me were: SPOILERS AHEAD, YO - When Setsuko buries the fireflies, and how the way she was dumping them into a hole reminded Seita of his mother being thrown into a mass grave. Disturbing as hell and totally heart breaking. And that Setsuko had already known about their mother's death when Seita was trying to protect her from that and him finally breaking down after staying so calm about everything for her sake.... - When Seita gets caught stealing food for Setsuko and gets beaten up and almost arrested. It was just....they were so scared at being separated. And then after Seita gets let go and Setsuko runs up to him...and she sort of understands why he's crying but not really and just how Seita so clearly needs Setsuko as much as she needs him and just....*bawls* - Setsuko eating marbles and dirt because she was so hungry. Oh god, I can't even imagine starving like that. - Flashbacks after Setsuko dies and then Seita cremating her by himself and keeping her ashes in a candy tin. ....ow. My heart.

I really wanna see Grave of the Fireflies. I know someone who has it, but it's their brother's copy and apparently, the brother is all, "It's mine!!! You can't have it!!"

Well unless the brother watches it every single day, it cant be to tricky for your friend to take it and lend it to you.
Or you could rent it.
