Who would have guessed that this would turn into predominately Spike fangirling?

Though I do adore Spike, I have to confess a liking for all the characters. I'm falling in love with Jet Black, too - he's all kinds of awesome, and really the glue that hold the "Bebop" together. When everyone else is off getting into trouble, he's the one who's often bailing them out, or at least sitting on the ship getting worried sick over them! And, he's the one who gave Ein his own doggie bowl, so I've gotta love him for that! Faye is an interesting character, too. She definitely has the "hot anime chick" look completely down (her wardrobe and her endowments are gravity-defying), but there's a lot more to her than that. Plus dangit, she knows how to handle a firearm and is sharp as a tack. And, she's a woman who actually eats on screen! A lot! Faye (paraphrased): "You know the first rule of combat? Shoot them before they shoot you." (Danny - I hope we're not scaring you away from this thread! I want yoooouuu heeerree! )

I love Spike he's one of my favorite anime characters of all time. But Faye Valentine is my favorite charterer , to start with she has the most awesome name and I just love the episode were she sticks the gun in a guy's mouth and is asking him questions and expecting him to answer. I can't remember the episode I haven't seen Bebop in a long time.

I haven't seen Cowboy Bebop in a long time either, but it's one of my all time faves. Spike IS my fave, but I like all the characters. Jet's cool and Faye is cool and sexy, and Ed puts a smile on my face! And Ein is the best anime dog! It was the first anime to make me cry. The last episode was pretty sad for me.

I love Ein, too... and not just because he's a Corgi, like my doggie (though it helps!). He's so intelligent, and the best part is, no one (except for Ed) knows that he's a canine genius. They just think he's a regular dog, meanwhile, he's hacking the internet.

I watched the series the first time adult swim aired it, years ago, and I've only seen it occasionally since then. I'm not real big on reruns. But it's still my favorite anime ever, and it tops a great many anime fans' lists of the best anime ever. It was also recently number one on Anime Insider's list of the 50 best anime ever. Of course, everyone has a right to their own opinions, nothing in the world can be to everyone's taste. Of course some people aren't going to like it, and even those who love it won't necessarily put it at the top of their own list, but even so, I think it's worth noting how many people, fans and professionals alike, recognize the show's greatness.
Well, I once ordered a DVD set from a third party seller through Amazon, and what I got was a knockoff copy. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but I'd prefer to get an official copy. Then later they came out with the Remix editions, but I wanted to wait for a box set of those. It's been a couple years since the individual Remix discs were released, but today is the release date of the box set. Finally. Alas, I can't afford it today. But hopefully sometime in the next few weeks I might get it. It's definitely alot cheaper than getting all the individual discs would have been, plus, you know... it has a box. I like boxes.

Unfortunately, most of my anime friends think it is stupid. I'm late, but those are not anime friends.

*bump* I watched the movie a couple of years ago and since then I've always wanted to watch the series because I loved the movie so much. Now I've finally been able to watch the series completely and I must say: I love, love, love it so much. It's definitely my most favourite anime and even in my top of all shows. I just love everything about it. Every episode has a great plot, with a great mix of drama and humour, and it always ended on such a magnificent way which always put a smile on my face. Only the sun stone episode was one of the lesser ones but even that one was good. The jazz theme was also great. I like jazz and I though it suited the show perfectly, just like the hip hop style suited "Samurai Champloo". All the songs and background music was <3 Then the characters... I can't even pick an absolute favourite because they were all so fantastic. Even Julia, who didn't get much screentime.

Oooh, Cowboy Bebop. *__* I love this show. It is one of the best animes ever created IMHO. Every character is deep and realistic, and the writing and animation is absolutley fantastic. My sister bought the series on DVD, so I can watch it whenever I want. ^^ The movie was really cool too, and when you read some of the articles at bebopmusings.com, you can have your mind totally blown. @___@ There's a live action movie in the works, but I'm not sure about it right now.... Keanu Reeves has been signed to play Spike as of right now...

I like how every character is so different but yet they seem to make such a great team. The Bebop is like a little albeit a bit dysfunctional family. It was sad when Ed and Ein left the Bebop but I feel it was for the best, especially with the intense sadness of the last two episodes. I so cried at the last three ones. ;___; But they will always be a family, no matter what. And yes, the animation is amazing. I'm so jealous of it, tbqh. xD They really pay attention to the smallest details and draw everything so realistically that it feels like you're watching a live action show. I'm going to buy the show and movie on dvd too. I recorded the movie when it was on television a couple of years ago but I'd rather have it on dvd. Especially because it's the Japanese version and I prefer the English dub. Yeah... I don't think Keanu would make a good Spike. I really doubt he will be able to capture Spike's complex personality and his playful charm. But who knows? I could be wrong and it's not sure Reeves will play Spike anyways.

Yep, the series is great, but I've recently started to see how the music made for the show and movie are great as well. I've got a lot of the songs on cd!
