Speaking of English, how about those English voices? Other than the slightly too-normal voice for L, I think they're good so far. And he's L, and he is awesome, and it is very hard to take away that awesomeness just with a voice actor.

^Me, too! I just finished the last volume of the manga the other day, and I've been all depressed at the prospect of not ever having any more new Death Note, ever. So about L's name. They never actually revealed it in the manga. Did they in the anime? I'm only up to episode 25, so I'm not sure. I know they did in the 2nd movie--but I deliberately didn't look because I wasn't through with the series and didn't want to know it yet, and the movie was totally different anyways. I heard somewhere that L's real name was only mentioned in a supplemental fanbook or something like that. Is that where it comes from? I dont remeber it even being said, but who knows. ^ The art of the manga is still very detailed for a shounen, though. Hey, remember how Ryuk wrote the instructions for the Death Note in Engliash because it was "the most popular language in our world?" While it is the language for most all global affairs, wouldn't it have made more sense to write them in the most widely spoken language a.k.a. Chinese? The only reason Chinese is the most popular language is because of China's huge population. I have never meet anyone that can speak Chinese, even the Chinese people (well, shes Korean. But she does not know that eather) Besides, Japan like American stuff and most Japanese people know some English. Its a win-win situation. Besides, the Death Note might not have had enough room for all the Chinese characters needed. I like the Japanese version more so far, but the only difference between them is that the voices are different. I wonder how they will deal with the 2nd opening. I dont think they can leave, "Hay hay human sucker, hay hay human fu**er" on there.

^^ I was wondering about that too. Maybe they'll just change the song that goes along with that opener.
BTW: Did you find that that line from the song stuck in your head for hours?

Hmmm, I think murder is a bad thing too. So do I. I think this particular show is excellent at exploring all the different aspects of the subject matter. That Light starts out wanting to cleanse the world of the worst people would seem like something a lot of people might consider (although most would probably realize they wouldn't want the responsibility of judgement). But he wants to set himself up as the god of this no-bad-people world and as things spiral he starts killing the people investigating him and they aren't the dregs of humanity, but decent people trying to enforce the law . I think they do a great job of exploring the whole complex issue.

Bump! We need the spoiler Death Note back >.<
Okay, I got this book the other day. "Death Note 13 How to Read" (Its 13 because the manga ends at 12) I thought all it had was character bios, but in the front there is this card thing with L's real name on it. It is in face Lawliet (or something like that) Sorry to doubt everyone who said it was ^,^; I got mine at Barns and Noble, if you want to go get one for yourself. (im pretty sure I say some at Books-a-Million, too)

Well this is a great show/manga, and both L, and Light are geniuses, hands down one of the best anime/manga out there.

Lawliet is his last name? Makes sense, but.... No, its the 1st name. Im pretty sure... Because, since he was a orphan, wouldent he have no last name (or his parents, but I doubt that)? Or, maby take Watari's (sp?) last name, since he adopted him (diden't he?) I really would have rather had it a secret forever, though. The Card says, L LAWLEIT So maby L is his 1st name... Has anyone here seen L's Funeral?! I cant believe they deleted it (Its deleted scenes) Its amazing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcvIxTVafkM&feature=PlayList&p=7D45A37435EBD8A7&index=6

After watching episode 28 dubbed of Death Note, I decided to watch some subs and ended up finishing the entire series. I just started cracking up in the last episode when Light went crazy after Near pwned him. It sucked to see Mello die especially since he could of easily taken care of Takada if he had only seen the death note pages she had put in her bra. Why o why did he give her the blanket? She used it to help cover the death note pages and it screwed Mello over. At least what he did overall helped corner Light. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has watched the subbed Death Note Rewrite: The Visualizing God. It aired in Japan 2 months or so after the final episode (37) of Death Note. I finally managed to find it online and am gonna watch it soon. I began watching the beginning and the Shinigami that is looking for Ryuk has a pretty nice look.
