What makes you think I'm going to stick around in this thread? All I did was post my opinion of Bleach, and stayed a little because I got caught up in a conversation. Nothing to flip out over. Now you can all drift back on topic. Wait, I never directly said you were going to stay in this thread. All I said was that apparently you were allowed to criticize/put down Bleach as long as you explained why. I never really flipped out either. All I did was say it seemed hypocritical to continue posting in the Bleach thread since you seemd to dislike it so much. Anyways, we can forget about this since GUG has already made a clear point. So what does everyone think about episode 57 which is airing tonight.

I think it is an episode I haven't seen yet. This being a spoiler-free thread, I should think that to be the extent of anyone's thoughts on it.

All I can say is there are ways to criticize Bleach and illustrate your dislikes without saying Bleach's plot and art is terrible. teknomageOkay...All I meant was what were thoughts on the episode based on episode 56. I never implied that we discuss the actual events of the episode. Since it has already aired now, I'll start by saying I am glad the fight between Soifon and Yoruichi is over because I have been pretty excited about the fight between Ichigo and Byakuya finally getting to some bankai action.

^ Skye, I have to disagree with you on Captain Yamamoto being the strongest shinigami in all of Soul Society. He is obviously one of the strongest captains but I am still unsure because Aizen is incredibly strong himself and Ichigo does improve greatly as the series progresses. I know that Aizen is strong but I've yet to see him fight, like for real fight. And Ichigo can't beat Yamamoto, if it ever came to that, he would lose, I'm sure of it.

Well, last night's episode had some technical difficulties. It kept skipping a little, or doing weird little stops, but it didn't ruin the episode, so I'm glad. Next episode will truly be awesome!

I enjoyed Yoruichi and Soifon's backstory. I enjoyed the Tetsuzaemon and Ikkaku scene. I enjoyed the Ichigo and Byakuya scene (Zangetsu's new power reminds me alot of Tetsusaiga's windscar, though). And, as always, I look forward to next week's episode.

Okay, tek, why not just say you enjoyed the entire episode, because the three things you said you enjoyed was pretty much the entire episode....
Anywho, Yoruichi and Soi Fon seem to have had a shoujo ai relationship way back when? Seems like it to me.

As I was typing my last post it occurred to me I had nothing worth saying, really, so I considered not posting at all. Certainly I wouldn't just post "I liked everything about the episode." But individual things about the episode... well, it was, as much as anything else, an exercise in recall. My memory sucks, and I was just trying to remember what all happened. Still, I probably wouldn't have posted if I hadn't remembered wanting to draw that Inuyasha comparison....
the flashback did seem sort of shojo ai, but it's hard to say. anime seems to be more comfortable showing same-sex romance than western shows, but they also seem to be more comfortable showing same-sex friendships that appear potentially romantic, so it can be really hard to tell sometimes which it is. But... I think Yoruichi was perhaps involved with Urahara, so....

Hey, all I'm saying is that even people with memory worse than yours can remember various things at random intervals.
And on the subject of Yoruichi and Urahara, yes, it seems that way. But as far as Yoruichi and Soi Fon goes, Soi Fon practically thought of Yoruichi as a goddess, and the way they professed to each other that they'd always be together? Seemed like a proclamation of eternal love, without actually proclaiming that they love each other. And let's not forget how Soi Fon broke down, crying after remembering their past and dwelling on it.

I see where you catch the shoujo-ai between both characters...
But I think that Soi Fon's breakdown at the end of their fighting is more a combination of years of pain and years of having no answers or closure. After Yuroichi left, Soi Fon had no one to look up to, no one to admire and try to be like- and on top of it all, she felt left behind.
And I agree- there is no way possible Uruhara and Yuroichi do not have something going on between each other.

Well I think that Soi Fon just looked up to Yoruichi and once she left she felt betrayed. I think she just thought of Yoruichi as an older sister, she even said that she thought of Soi Fon as a younger sibling so that's something to consider. Episode 58 airs tonight! Just looked on the AS schedule and Starting April 5th, Bleach will be on at 12:30am. Thought I'd let you guys know. ^_^ Thanks for the update, I'm glad it's coming on a little earlier now.

Although I suppose the real problem would be how AS decided to make saturday stop being anime night, and give their crappy comedies more airtime.

^At least now they've started airing Shin Chan and Cowboy Bebop again, instead of Futrama and crap that belongs on Comedy Central.
