Oh. My. God.
I got into Dragon Ball Z when I was eight years old. It was my first anime. I'll definetly go see this movie, mostly because I feel a need to support the triumphant return of this series. It feels funny to have a solid fact after so long. I remember scoffing at the rumors a few years ago and hoping that they wouldn't make a live-action version. I'm probably setting myself up for horrible disappointment, but I'm marking my calandar for this one.

Man, I thought this rumor was dead and gone, but perhaps not!
I bet it'll suck. Most movies that are based from books and TV shows usually suck, especially live-action ones.
I bet they'll use CGI for the anime things.
This could be just because I haven't watched DBZ in a million years, but I thought Piccolo was the good guy. (Yeah, he was the good guy in DBZ, but I always figured that he was a kid at the end of DB and Goku basically fought his dad. Was it like Piccolo SR and Piccolo JR here?)

Er, your sorta right. In DB, Goku (when he was about 12 or 13) fought Piccolo Daimoh and killed him. Right before Piccolo Sr died he spat out an egg which then grew up to be Piccolo Jr, aka Piccolo. A few years later (when Goku was about 15 or 16) at the World Tournament, Piccolo and Goku fought in the final match and Goku beat him.
Later in DBZ, Piccolo sorta starts out as a bad guy until Raditz comes along. Then, he gets swindled into being a good guy.

I have an idea, as long as there is no Bulma, then DBZ if fine with me! He he he! Oh and that goes for Chichi too!

ChiChi I think we could do without. Bulma on the other hand is "the technological genius of the group" according to Funimation. She ends up playing a pretty important role throughout the series. (Despite her too being also annoying as heck...)

What's next? A Naruto Live Action film?Don't say that! You'll jinx it! Anywhom, I suppose I'll see it in some fashion, but I don't have high hopes. You can't top the over-the-topness of the DBZ anime.

*In a panic.* Stop talking about it! You'll all make them make a Naruto movie, and it will suck!

My relationship with Dragonball: Several years ago I watched it for awhile on cartoon network, though I didn't watch DBZ. At some point I stopped even watching Dragonball, and I don't know if they ever finished the series or not. But then recently they started airing Dragonball on Toonami Jetstream, so I got back into watching it there. About ten episodes into its run, they also started showing DBZ, so I started watching that, and it was weird because so much had changed, like there were all these characters I didn't know at all, who clearly all the characters I already knew, had met before. I'm not saying I've never seen a few minutes here and there of DBZ before, so I'd seen Piccolo before, but didn't really know anything about him. But still I wished they would've shown all of Dragonball before they started showing DBZ. But I'm still watching both shows on Jetstream each week. This week Dragonball is up to episode 30, and DBZ is on episode 20. And the former still hasn't caught up to where it was when I stopped watching it on TV years ago, there's plenty yet to come, and probably there'll be plenty more after that, when it does catch up. So I'm worried about whether either series will complete its run on Jetstream by the time the movie comes out.
All I knew about the movie was that James Marsters was going to play Piccolo, and I really want to see that. Now to learn that Emmy Rossum will play Bulma is cool, too. As for the other characters, I don't know the other actors listed on IMDb, but the women playing Chi Chi and Mai are at least hot, so whatever. But I don't think just because not all the characters are listed there means they won't be in the movie. What I think is really odd is that all the actors are adults. What story is the movie supposed to tell, is it Dragonball or is it DBZ? Because if it's Dragonball... Goku should be a kid, Bulma and Yamcha should be teenagers, and if Mai's in it, that means Pilaf and Shu should also be in it... but of course each series had a number of story arcs, so... I'm worried and curious about what the movie is actually about. But I do want to see it....

Nothing personal, but they should have killed Bulma off, and just made a clone of her.
