Wow, now that was one hilarious movie. I really recommend not missing it ~ the acting was surprisingly good, and the casting and writing weren't bad. Plus, it's another one of those films where New York itself is almost one of the characters. Watch it now if you can, or rent it later if not... I know, when I first saw the trailers, I remember thinking, "Oh, how stupid," but trust me, I laughed nearly the whole time, because Disney spends the entire movie making fun of Disney. It's interesting to see the fantasy genre going so wholeheartedly meta, but hey, if that's the way the evolution of the genre is going, I'm all for it. So has anyone else seen it? What do you think?

I took my girlfriend to see Enchanted. It's not normally my type of movie (at least if you're talking about the live action genre, as opposed to a normal Disney animated film), but I found it very enjoyable. I like how it was poking fun at itself, but in a gentle sort of way. So many satirical movies have a hard edge to them - rending their subject material mercilessly. Enchanted felt a lot more like a homage than the others of this type. I have to say, seeing some 2D animation again was encouraging. I know that they've reopened their 2D animation studio, but we're not likely to see a full length 2D movie for another four years or so (The Frog Princess, I believe). The soundtrack is surprisingly catchy (my favourite song from the movie is "So Close" which played during the ball) and the entire sequence in "How does she know" was really a throwback to classic Disney animation, and to musicals in general. If this is the way they're planning to go with their movies under their new leadership, I may be finding reasons to watch Disney once again.

I still have to see this movie, I have been saying I will since it first came out.
Maybe I'll suggest it to my best friend for our one month anniversery date with our boyfriends this Friday.

Oh, good point, Growly, about the excellent soundtrack and the softer edge of satire. I just cracked up out loud so many times during this movie ~ everybody did. ;D We even applauded at one point in the middle. I didn't realize it was the first Disney film under the new leadership ~ that explains a bit, I guess. XD It managed to poke fun at the fairytale stereotype some people expect in real life... while at the same time supporting people's dreams, in a balanced fashion. Oh, that ogre... XD "So Close" had me nearly crying, and "How Does She Know" blew me away. So many dancers were employed... and I am so impressed that Amy Adams did all her own singing. Such a change from previous offerings.

Oh, I love "Enchanted!" It was such a pick-me-up. My sister and I were giggling and grinning when we left the theatre. Yeah, I love how it managed to make fun of the cliches, but wasn't too harsh on them. Amy Adams was incredible. There was such potential for her to be irritating and over-the-top, but she wasn't. And her singing was very nice.
"That's How you Know" FTW, btw. <333

Enchanted was amazing! The squirrel was so adorable! I really liked the park scene where Giselle is singing and everyone is joining her. When the Prince mother(I forgot his name and his mothers) turned into a dragon at the end of the movie, my friend began singing Dragon Tales. It was so random. His mother is so ugly in real-life than in animation.

Well, they did a good job of making her look like she was channeling her RHPS co-star Frank, but in real real life, Susan Sarandon is actually one of those people who seems to radiate beauty from within, rather than having it put on her by a lot of makeup and procedures. She seems to be really at peace with herself, and she's stayed beautiful as she ages. IMDb photo link I also like the worthy causes she works so hard towards. As far as her hag makeup ~ wow! Whoever did that job is amazing, and it must have taken upwards of six hours, unless it was CGI.

I really loved this movie. It was great how Disney was making fun of itself ("We'll be married in the morning!") but that wasn't the sole purpose of the movie. The musical numbers were fun, and I was laughing throughout the entire movie. I'm so glad I saw this, it was a lot better than I expected it to be.

I love this movie! It was so funny! They had all sorts of parodies off of other Disney movies!
I liked it in the park when all the sudden she starts singing, and the guy is like, "I don't sing" or was it,"Don't sing". Then those Jamician guys were singing it too, and the guy is like "Is this a popular song or something?!"

I wanted to see Enchanted so badly. I can't wait until I can rent it. (Movie ticket prices are OUTRAGEOUS!)

I watched this movie with my mom last night, and it was so funny! ^-^ The music was wonderful, so catchy, I've been singing "That's How You Know" all day! It's one of my favorite scenes from the movie too, because Giselle has everybody singing and Robert is embarrased at first because everybody is staring. XD
Then when Edward comes back, and starts singing, and Robert says,"He sings too?" XD When Edward got run over by the bikes, I just nearly fell off the couch in my fit of laughter!
