I have no intention of watching what I know will be the raping of my favorite childhood cartoon.

Although I agree about the 'raping the plot' part Monk, I'm still gonna go see it for the insanely awesome CG transformations.

I so want to see this! I'm one of those folks who watched Transformers as a kid back in the 80s, so this looks like a lot of fun. I admit when I first heard about this I was skeptical - I have good memories of the cartoon from my childhood, and am a bit protective of the show - but the more I've seen of it, and the more advanced reviews I read, the better I feel about it. I know they've changed some things (Bumblebee is no longer a VW Bug, due to a couple of reasons that make sense to me, and that I'm cool with, and Megatron isn't a big gun anymore - but that is also ok with me, as the big gun concept I don't think would work as well in a live action film as it would in a cartoon), but I think the basic concept is there. Spike Witwicky and Bumblebee are still good buds, Optimus Prime has the same voice, Megatron's still out to destroy things, Starscream is still a schemer. And the CGI transformations just look amazing, so I'll definitely see this one in the theaters.

At the beginning I was kinda afraid that Michael Bay would ruin the movie, but the trailers seem really cool, with awsome CGI, and the Transformers bring me good memories of my childhood, so I'll watch the movie, I think it might end being cool.

I actually like that they incorporate the original "transforming" sound effect from the cartoons into the movie. I got a smile out of that nod to the past.

I can't wait for this movie!! I never watched the show as a kid but I played with the action figures and loved them. Plus the movie itself looks like it's going to be awesome.

Why'd they have to put Shia Labeouf or whatever in it?

I loved Beast Wars and Transformers as a kid so I have to see this. Besides, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are made of serious win. I got to see Megatron as well.

Why Shia? I know they could've found someone better. He is an alright actor, but I mean....Disney channel sheez. I'll wait and give my approval or disgust after the film I guess.

If you get a chance there's a prequel graphic novel to the movie in most book stores. It really helps clear up the story.
