The Great Divide. Not only was it not needed, it was stupid. We already had an episode that showed Aang acting as the Avatar which was The Spirit World.

Just to restate: The Great Divide wins as Least Vital to plot and it been proven more then a side track...only way it lose that title if we see those same people in season three and which doubt that will happen.

HOLD UP. The Great Divide, while I agree it is largely irrelevant to the greater plot of the series, did provide us with some important info. Namely that even fairly skilled benders, aka the guide, need the use of their arms to bend. King Bumi is of course an exception, he just needs his face, and Uncle Iroh, who can breathe fire. But the vast majority of benders require the use of their greater appendages.

^ I was about to say that too, but if I look at it.... it says which is the least vital. That means I've still got to go with the Great Divide. I mean, the Fortuneteller is seen in the next episode.... so yeah, the Great Divide gets my vote.

Zuko Alone, hands down

I beg to differ. Zuko Alone gave us the first real glimpse of the firenation. and it showed us that Azulon was probably assasinated, and gave us good reason that either Azula or Zuko's mom murdered the fire lord. That's more vital then Avatar Day was

Zuko Alone showed us a lot about Zuko, so I disagree. I think it's the Great Divide. It did absolutely nothing to the plot.

Well, you know I'm going to say "The Great Divide" like, sheesh, everybody else did. Unless, of course, those characters come up again. However, the priceless thing we got out of that was the look on Aang's face in one particular scene.... screenshots.avatarspiritmedia.net/111/071.jpgAin't he smexy?

Oh, yes, because that one screenshot makes the entire episode worthwhile. Haha. I have to admit, that face is rather attractive. xD

I think one episode to me that at least should be number one or a distant second was "The Fortuneteller"...didn't add much to the arc, just shipping.

I definately think that Avatar Day is the least vital. Not only did nothing interesting happen, the episode itself was probably my least favorite.

Plotwise, I don't think that "Tales of Ba Sing Se" was needed. However, it gave us a lot of new insight on several characters. Plus, it was just plain awesome.

Plotwise, Tales of Ba Sing Se is indeed important. Here are some instances:
Tale of Toph and Katara: Insight into Toph's personality and some lezzy moments. XD Tale of Sokka: Nothing really important plotwise. Tale of Zuko: Shows some ambiguity in Zuko's relationship status. "It's complicated." Tale of Iroh: Shows that Iroh still loves his son. Tale of Momo: Shows Appa's footprint. He's in Ba Sing Se! (<-- Plot!)

The least vital episode in my opinion was Avatar Day. It didn't really advance the series in any way
