If an episode that wasn't vital to the plot existed- which one do you think it would be? I'd say the FIRST one. No, no, jk. Hem. I don't know- that's why I want to see responses!

I don't think "The Great Divide" added much to the overall plot, if at all.

Hm... I'd have to say Appa's Lost Days. It didn't do anything to propel the story to the Season Finale.

Nope, that was "The Spirit World". Iroh said it.
So yeah, still useless, that Great Divide. ;D
EDIT: Appa's Lost Days added a lot to the plot; we got our first view of Guru Pathik, not to mention the reveal of Long Feng's treachery.

Yeah, 2 out of what? 10 events depicted in the episode, if that? Useless filler, if you ask me. I stand by what I said. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I respect yours, but still, only 2 things happened to propel the story, next to nothing in the context of the entire episode and the series so far at the point it was the new episode, look at it like that. That's where I'm coming from, the entire series as a whole up unto that point featured more in each episode than just those 2 events in that episode that I said. The Great Divide, while a useless filler, also, I agree, did bring to us the knowledge that Ba Sing Se was a destination for refugees and we all knew that Aang would eventually go there, even if briefly, or so we thought at the time. If you ask me, that info trumps the appearance of a character and the depths of the treachery of another. Justification-style.

I would say its "avatar day" even the great devide had better meaning to it as it does show Aang's capible of uniting people, even with a bold faced lie .

I would say that it's a tie between Great Divide and Avatar Day, though I tend to lean more towards the Great Divide only because I cannot stand to watch that episode and Avatar Day I can wathc without wanting to turn the tv off.

Actually, Appa's Lost Days added a lot to the plot:
- Guru Pathik - We got to see the Eastern Air Temple - Fire Nation citizens - Long Feng's treachery - We know the Dangerous Ladies battled against the Kyoshi Warriors and it was because of this that they were able to sneak into Ba Sing Se. If it wasn't for their disguises Azula wouldn't have planned the coup. Which later proved vital to the season finale.
I was going to say Avatar Day was useless, but then we wouldn't have learned more about Kyoshi and the Island.

Hah, I guess that there really aren't many without important points- I agree with the Great Divide, though, it was kinda... off-topic. It showed, however, that Aang was kind and would help teh_people willingly.

Asm uch as I love it, Tales of Ba Sing Se really wasn't a needed episode plot-wise. It helped with character development a LOT, but nothing towards the plot.

"Tales of Ba Sing Se." All you see is a three-second clip of Appa's footprint. The rest is utter garbage.

Yeah, Tales of Ba Sing Se did nothing but it's still one of my favorite episodes. Go Iroh.
Avatar Day and the backstory of Kyoshi Island has done nothing so far. Maybe it foreshadows something.
