Such as: 1. Was the killer really influenced by Death Note, or was it simply a coincidence? 2. Was it truly murder, or, as some sources have suggested, a practical joke by medical students? 3. Although this incident occurred in October several weeks ago, is there a possibility of any future backlash and banning of the series is Belgium, America, or elsewhere? 4. What was the reason(if any) for two identical notes, both of which have the Japanese word "desu" misspelled as "dess"? 5. Why are the circumstances surrounding the identity of the victim so fuzzy? If it was murder, wouldn't there be a report of the disappearance of someone fitting the description provided(a Caucasian male between the ages of 20 and 30)? And if it was a prank by medical students, shouldn't there have been a record of the body parts that may have been stolen?

Actually, there were a series of Death Note crazy fans in China and the manga was banned because of how many kids took it seriously. They had notebooks and were writing names in them...of course, nothing happened, but it was still a problem in schools and the works. I'll try to find the article on it...
So I'm not surprised if someone in Belgium felt influenced by Death Note.

I've read about that, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that was just students pulling pranks on each other and the teachers. Still, it sounds like something my school would have a huge overreaction about, considering the fact that it's just November and already this year we've got two incidents concerning rumors of violence against the school. Both cases were all talk, but it's still got everyone really uptight.

It's most likely a prank. I mean, Death Notes don't exist and it's just a series. It'd be stupid to ban the whole thing just because of idiots like these. It's probably one of their "murder messages", like when people might leave a kiss print or a slash in the shape of a letter on their victims.

If this was a murder, I wouldn't be surprised if the killers had been influenced in part by Death Note. It's a gruesome show, in all honesty (one of my favorites, too), and I don't see any reason why it couldn't push anyone who's already close to the edge off altogether.

With school time violence seemingly at an all time high, school authorities kinda freak out when there's a death threat on a student's life. The whole context of the death note is that the author wants that person to "die" pretty much gives that person the same frame of mind. Do they act on it? Maybe, maybe not, but the fact remains that intent is true.

It's possible he was "inspired" by it. But he's obviously differently abled.
Or it's a college prank.

If he didnt watch death note, he would have killed the guy and written something different on the piece of paper. No big deal.

I don't think it's a prank. I mean, investigators can tell the difference between real and fake body parts. It was probably a psycopath influenced by the anime.
I know it was banned in China, but I sure hope it's not banned in the US.

This happened ages ago, and there has been no fallout because of it; I don't see why there would be anyway. Doom wasn't banned after the Columbine shootings, which allegedly "influenced" them.
