I completely agree, but people like to argue that all of those feelings that she shows for Aang are just motherly, which is complete BS in my opinion. There's nothing 'motherly' about any of their interaction. Besides, Katara mothers everything around her. Heck, we could probably say she was just being "motherly" to Zuko in "The Crossroads of Destiny."

Yeah, Katara's just a naturally maternal person. Which will come in handy when she and Aang have kids Anyways, weather it's motherly or not, I think all the hugs and kisses etc are good for Aang, he's under alot of pressure and he needs to know that people appreciate him and know what he's going through.

He should probably look into those Bear Necessities, you know, to forget about his worries and his strifes. =D [is a dork] I agree that Aang's under a lot of pressure, but so is just about every other character on the show.

People conveniently forget that being supportive and loving (and yes even motherly on some level) to Aang benefits Katara as well. Aang is trying to save HER world, HER people, the state of peace, etc. What else is she going to do? Be distant to him? No. She treats him infinitely better than she does Sokka (who she snipes at on many occasions) and she clearly is affectionate with him.
How much do they need to show that Katara very well could love Aang "more than normal?" Shoot kids and adults are smart cookies. And plenty of kids and adults have picked up on the OMG so obvious "do they like each other" going on between Katara and Aang.

@amira: Exactly. Katara is naturally sweet and loving. Sure, she mothers Aang on occasion, but she does that with everybody she cares about.
Whenever I introduce anybody to Avatar for the first time, they instantly ask me, "Are those two going to get together?"
I always answer, "Most likely, yeah." x3

Aang is trying to save HER world, HER people, the state of peace, etc. Very true. Most seem to also forget that Katara looking up to Aang and her trust in him is more vocal than the other way around. Katara is supportive, motherly, etc. to Aang because she loves him and wants to help him save the world. Indeed. Like Lanugi, most people I've introduced to Avatar think there is or at least will be "something more" between Aang and Katara (my friend even asked if Katara liked Aang during Jet of all episodes). I doubt Katara is that oblivious if a bunch of Real World neutrals think the opposite.

^^^^*waits for Amira to edit post saying NO SPAMMING!!* God I hate being right I'm sorry but....that doesn't help anything. To add, I think Katara does feel That Way about Aang at least a bit but doesn't realize it. Katara is a 14 year old who is inexperienced in romance so I'm betting she knows as much we do when it comes to her true feelings for Aang.

If Katara hasn't realized her feelings yet, what happened during "The Crossroads of Destiny" will surely be a wake-up call. If it's not, then I don't know what will be.

Aang has potential though. The way he gave Katara her necklace back after getting it back from Zuko? Even Iroh would be saying "That kid is gooooood."

One day Katara is going to realize what we've all known for a while - that beneath that cute, bald exterior is a romantic, suave fellow. Okay, maybe not entirely suave. He is adorably dorky at times.

He is adorably dorky at times. Yeah. Take the scene in "The Fortuneteller" when he gave Katara the necklace he made for her as an example.
