@kaibas--You were 100% convinced she would be redeemed BEFORE the Beach, so out of plum curiosity, I'm still confused as to what on god's green earth before this episode could possibly make you so certain she would be redeemed.

I don't even think that death could redeem Azula. I think that she'll remain evil. She tried to kill Zuko with lightning, and she suceeded in getting Aang... Someone that kills on a whim, and appears to enjoy it won't be redeemed IMO.

yiceman, LOL. True, what changed was that a lot of my theories were blown out of the water. Which is a good thing, but anyway, so now currently I can't exactly tell you how I think it'll come about, but I'm fairly certain it will.

So yeah, i'm on the bandwagon that there's nothing to redeem if she or her nation doesn't think she's done anything wrong.

^ The Fire Nation (or most/half of it) doesn't think they've done anything wrong, that doesn't mean they're excused from being redeemed. I mean the children are being taught that the Air Nomads attacked them; and in The Avatar and the Fire Lord, Sozin said he wanted to expand the glory of the Fire Nation and make it one---which is probably what the Fire Nation is thinking, thus being passed down to generation to generation.
As for Azula, no I don't see her being redeemed by the end of series, but that doesn't mean she won't. However I am firm in my belief that she's not gonna betray Ozai for the throne, like some speculate, whether ppl see it or not Azula admires her father and would seem dedicated in serving him.

^^Well, remember the general public of the FN are being fed and taught lies from the time they are born, so I think for most civilians, I could excuse them from the whole evil thing. Whereas, Azula seems to know the truth and relishes it!

Indeed...and the Fire Nation public in general seem like nice folks. But Azula smiles when she watches her brother get mutilated or when she murders her own uncle/a 12-year-old child.

I have yet to read anything that proves she won't be redeemed. It could happen, therefore it will happen? I really doubt that Azula's character will make any sort of miraculous turnaround this season, especially with only twelve episodes to make it in. There are some villains who are bad guys/gals through and through, and that's okay (especially if they're as cool as Azula).

LOL. conspiracytheorist, you make me laugh -karmas- It doesn't have to be a miraculous turnaround, it just has to make sense

^^And it would make sense for someone who is shown as perfectly happy being cruel, uncaring, manipulative, murderous, coniving, and a flat out liar, to suddenly look in the mirror and say "I'm a bad girl, oh gosh what have I done?!" She is content being the bad guy, if she shown any signs of remore at all, I may say there is a slight chance of redemption. But there is no signs of that, she is delighted to cause pain for others, to lie, to try to kill.........no signs of remorse for these things...ever. For her to turn over a new leaf now would be rediculous, and unbelievable.
I will ask, how could they possibly make it make sense? Just curious, I couldn't see any way, but if you can, please spread the info. People want her to be redeemed, but not one person can give a good example of how they could do it convincingly, or how it could ever make sense.
