I think you're both right.. Zuko's priority is surviving right now -- but if he's presented with the opportunity to try to snag Aang, he's not going to walk away --- he'll instinctively go after him..

Cami: Great settling of a dispute. But what can I expect from an Avatar supreme Court Justice? XD
I keep getting totally sidetracked by that Blue Spirit. Still stares. All he needs is his super ninja skills. ;D

I think we really need to see more episodes to determine that. I really think Zuko is at a loss as to what to do now.

@almighty: Thanks! I'm practicing impartiality... So Blue Spirit? Where? Where?
I think the next meeting between the Aang Gang and Zuko is going to be interesting. Will they have seen his wanted poster and know that his situation has changed, or will it be a surprise? Will they try to help him, talk to him.. or will it be instant battle stances? If I had to guess - based upon what we know of Zuko -- I doubt even he really knows how he feels about the Avatar at this point.. has he consciously thought about his quest and decided to give it up? Or is he soo wrapped up in getting his feet back under him that it's something he hasn't even considered?

I'm really curious to see it but we have another week. -______- Oh, Blue spirit? There! *points to youkai's sig*

hmm I think Aang would approach Zuko, but Sokka and Katara will hold him back thinking he's nuts.
You know what I've been thinking. You know how zuko supposedly doesn't want to capture the Avatar anymore? So what the point of him? No seriously! What is the point of him... I mean why doesn't he just turn himself in. I mean the Earth Kingdom hates him the Fire Nation hates him. Everyone hates him... there not left for him. Yet there he is stealing song Emu horse trying to avoid his sister and his capture. For what? Why waste so much energy. Really is the only point of his character to fall in love with Katara? Because if that is that is a mighty sad existence.

Now I'm curious to read the responses.

I know... I was reading Yukai post about how he's given up on the Fire Nation and what not. I was like what the point of him then? I mean he serve his purpose now move over and let your sister finish it. He not the lead protagonist, then what is he. Does he want to save the world now, does he want to take over the Avatar job? That a really huge jump from bad guy to good guy in absolutely no time.

Well, Zuko doesn't just turn himself in b/c he doesn't want to be in prison for the rest of his life/killed by his sister or father. As for his purpose in the show now...
... we'll just have to wait and see. ;D

Yep... See what the creators have in store for us. But I don't think he'll join the gang just yet; maybe later, but not yet.

His path may be parallel to Aang's: What's Aang's purpose right now? To overcome incredible odds and crushing pressure of expectations, to basically grow up real fast and shoulder some serious responsibility. Anything else?
Maybe Zuko's is the same: somebody's going to have to step into the shoes of the Fire Lord, I think, or there'll be total collapse when he's gone. Zuko clearly isn't ready for that right now, but who else could do it? (okay, don't tell me Azula; I meant ideally). ;D This is assuming, of course, that Ozai's defeated by the end of the show.

I'd say that around the end of the whole show, Zuko will be on Aang's side. But for now, I'd say that Zuko is still after Aang. Azula's insults might've just made him more determined to find Aang because now there's even more desperation for acceptance from his father. He's still probably chasing Aang, but I don't think he'll be as much of a threat to Aang as he used to being a fugitive and all.

I agree with Dragonmaster. Also, sorry that I've been missing everything. I'm going through A.W. S., so I've been trying to keep my distance away from the computer.

Isn't that kinda like how Soko fans view Song to be basically there as a love interest for Zuko? I don't think Zuko has given up on Aang yet, old habits die hard, even though he knows that he is wanted by the earth kingdom and the fire nation, I think he still believes he could have a shot at going home with Aang in the picture.

Huh? Soko fans really like Song because she was the first ever female to establish somewhat of a bond between Zuko, not to mention she made Zuko do something that he rarely does... stop and think. They both empathized with each other, and you know, Zuko doesn't really empathize with anyone but himself and maybe his father. Point is, Soko fans like the pairing because Song can potentially bring out the good in Zuko. (notice the word potentially) We haven't seen Katara do anything that could possibly bring out the good in Zuko. All we saw them do was try to hurt each other, battling, and bad mouthing each other. Anyway, that was what Confettie was saying. She says that Zuko is still trying to capture Aang. She was just pointing out questions as to why would Zuko stop trying to capture the avatar.
