I'm using a version of the Mirage engine for this. I think I may have just added a mapper, who may do double duty writing story line.
There are new tiles, which make the above screen shots useless, but still give a good idea of what's going on. I still need graphic artists, but it's a start.
I expect to have a good engine in the next month or so, so I'll have a public release soon.

We ran into a couple problems here, and could use some help that doesn't require actually doing anything.
Problems: 1- Changing engine, so finished maps need to be remade. This is for the better 2- Scripts need to be rewritten, but most of the scripting is the same. 3- Sprites are changes from 32x32 to 32x64 4- Paper Doll items are being put in (crosses fingers), but I'll need to hand draw the graphics. 5- I kinda gave up on the site and it is terribly out of date.
Need help: (Basically all logistics that I don't want to have to code in later.) 1- How many classes should there be? Four is the obvious answer, but a development team member suggested eight, each race bending and non-bending. Everyone will probably want to play a bender, so non-benders will have access to stronger mele attacks and extra equipment and such. 2- What element beats what? I understand the water/fire night/day thing, and will probably not code it in at all (to much); but what are the other balances? 3- I think I have the starting, and advancing, stats rather well planned out. As of now Air Benders have a higher chance to dodge and have a higher hit rate with lower strength. Earth benders will do more damage per hit, but have slower hits and more defense. Fire benders have a chance to burn, dealing damage over time. Water Benders are the only ones that can learn healing arts and heal burns on their own. Is there anything else you would like to see as far as class balance goes? 4- What skills should players have? Fishing, foresting, mining, forging, making potions? I need to script/hard code most of this in on my own.
I'm trying to change to the new software and get a public beta together on a stable server asap, but I suck at graphics and have been playing with code for the most part. Any and all input will help. Thanks.
** Edit ** I'm not sure that this is 100% cannon, maybe someone could correct me if it's not, but I think I worked out the element system. Water - Strong against Fire, Weak against Earth Earth - Strong against Water, Weak against Air Fire - Strong against Air, Weak against Water Air - Strong against Earth, Weak against Fire
Basically I plan on making the engine check your class (nation) and if the attacker is from of the element you're weak against you loose some def against their hit based on your level difference. A level 75 Fire Bender (Jeong Jeong) won't take a defense penalty from a level 8 (Katara early season one) Water Bender, but on an even level the Water Bender has a higher chance of doing damage to the Fire Bender than the Fire Bender does to the Water Bender.
