Nokoro had been staying at the Northern Water Tribe Training Camp for about a week. He had been pretty worn out from training his waterbending fighting skills. But, he knew it was worth it because he needed to be very skilled at waterbending if he wanted to help out in the war against the Fire Nation. He was also satisfied with the fact that he was becoming more advanced in waterbending from striving every day to be able to fight. Besides, he knew that the Fire Nation will start attacking very soon and that if he wanted to be ready for them, he needed to practice with extreme effort in the short amount of time that was left.
I hope I will be able to fight with my waterbending, at least at a mediocre level, before the Fire Nation attacks Nokoro thought to himself. He started thinking about his mom and dad. He wondered how they were doing without him. I hope they're not worrying about me too much he thought. He remembered his friends, Mioko and Zotora. Hmmm... I wonder what they will think of me if I come back from the war he pondered. No, when I come back from the war! Lastly, he thought about his girlfriend, Jing. I will see her glowing, beautiful brown hair and her shining, ice blue eyes again! he said to himself, thinking of all the people who he risked not seeing again. Don't worry, I will come back from this war and I will see you all again! His eyes shone with confidence, determination, and hope before he decided to go to sleep. He needed strength if he wanted to practice fighting with waterbending tomorrow.

((So, if I want to post anything, I have to ask first? I'm sorry, but I don't understand. I see your logic that it might limelight my character, and if you want, I'll edit it some. However, there is a certain amount of flexibility that we both have to have with each other. That's RPing. We create a story and it evolves as it goes. If you have any more questions and would like to continue this argument further, please PM me so that the game may continue. Thanks.))

((ok glad things worked out)) BACK TO THE GAME
Tang was worried sick, infact thanks to a large breakfast, and today's trama. He threw up, over one the balconies. oh dear gods he was panting hard and looking like death as he walked back to the infermarey. Guilt had a heavy hold on the monk's back and was constricting. But still, he had to go check on the young nun and his precious acolyte. He open the door to hear Chiko wailing across the room. Tang sighed knowing that Chiko was being, well. Chiko. He was crying out of shock than pain and Tang knew that he just liked to make noise. "Shhhhh, oh Chi, c'mere." Tang picked up Chiko who had a bandage on his head and hand. Tang cradled him and comforted the little bender as he cried a little long. Yomi busted into the room looking very frazzled. His robes were disheveled and he looked heated, probably from running, but other factors could be there as well. "So? You came." Tang said firmly to Yomi, he gave Yomi his foster child and went on to see Suzume, "Are you awake dear?"

"I said get up, Takeo! NOW!" Takeo Maeda wanted to sleep. It was as simple as that- he wanted to lie in bed and not go to the first day of training. Masami, though, his best friend, wasn't going to hear of it. She ripped off his sheets and held a blazing fist in front of his face, heat waves rippling mercilessly off it onto his long, slender nose.
"Okay... I'm up... I'm up..." he groaned, rolling off his bed ungracefully to land with a soft thump on the ground. Rubbing his back and muttering low curses, he stood to his full height, almost six feet tall. Masami, though a half a foot shorter than him, obviously held the power in the situation. She stuffed a hat onto his head and glared at him before exiting.
Finally cracking his sleep-laden amber eyes open, Takeo yawned and ruffled his lengthy black hair into some semblance of order. He tugged on a black jerkin and pulled on his open maroon vest over it, then slid two arm-warmers up his forearms. It was winter-and though it was in the Fire Nation, cold still seeped in through the window, making him shudder slightly.
He raised his arched eyebrows and pulled the hat off, putting on long shorts with two huge pockets on the sides. He slipped his feet into shoes made of black animal hide, strong, flexible, and thin. He stretched his lanky frame once more and shut the door of his square room, exiting into the small hallway and then into the kitchen.
"You're up," Masami stated. "Brilliant deduction," Takeo said dryly, and slid into a chair to gnaw on a piece of grain bread. "We're leaving in five minutes, Takeo- and I am so not waiting for you," she sniffed. Grabbing a piece of bread, she walked haughtily outside. Takeo devoured the rest of the bread in one gulp, poured some juice down his gullet, and walked outside.
"Can't wait until the invasion, huh?" said Masami brightly, all morning snappiness gone. Takeo nearly groaned- he detested all idea of a war, but Masami loved the concept. "Yeah, sure," Takeo lied uneasily. "Yeah..."
The pair walked down the dirt road towards the nearby town of Shokai, where morning training started every day at the crack of dawn from now on. It was still dark outside- the sun had not yet shown its face, but the sky was a clear dark blue, with traces of purple at the horizon.
They entered the city just as the sun emerged in blazing glory over the edge of the world. The sky now shone light blue. All traces of darkness had vanished. "We'd better run," Masami said. The pair hustled to the courtyard where training started, Masami consulting a map every so often to check where they were going.
The instructor, Master Hado, stood at the front of the courtyard with a few other pupils. "Maeda, Takeo and Takahashi, Masami?" he said slowly, his deep voice booming. The pair nodded. "Maeda, Takeo, please proceed into the next courtyard. Takahashi, remain here," he said. Takeo waved to Masami and moved through a doorway indicated into a second, much larger, courtyard. It was brightly lit. A second Master stood at the front of the courtyard.
He sneered. He seemed to be looking slightly to the left of Takeo. "I am Master Zinan. The lesson will begin in five minutes. You are Takeo Maeda?" Takeo nodded again and walked off to a small corner where he leaned against the wall, staring into the sky, pensieve. His eyelids drooped to their usual position, hooding his brown eyes, as several more students streamed in. Takeo leaned forwards off the wall and strode over to the middle of the courtyard, where the rest of the students waited for instruction.
"You are to learn the arts of advanced firebending," said Zinan in a strong, harsh voice. "No one student here will get special treatment, nor will any of you be relieved of work for any reason. You must be strong. Several students in the first courtyard will be moving up soon, once they have finished intermediate training."
Takeo kept his eyes straight and his knees locked. He was in a row of four people and in a column of three. These lines were spaced so each person had ten feet of space beside them and behind them. Master Zinan's grey eyes, ruined by some terrible disease, glared sightlessly at them. "Do not take me lightly merely because I have no sight. A master is a master, no matter the obstacle. We begin... now."

At dawn, a maid scurried into her room to wake her. Soft threads of light slipped into the room, illuminating it in a faint glow of gold.
Immediately, she got up, dismissed the servant, and dressed herself, heading to the welcoming room right after. Already, her bags and supplies were piled up, and a handful of female servants, about five, were loading her luggage into a carriage. In Aoi’s hand was the scroll, and she toyed with it endlessly, fingering its smooth surface but withered end.
Soon enough, the carriage was ready to leave, and Ichiro and Etsuko both decided to accompany her. “To make sure you get there,” Etsuko explained, smiling all the while.
The ride lasted all of that morning, and most of the afternoon. When they finally reached the town, it was near dusk, so they found an inn and decided to stay the evening.
The night passed quickly, and when Aoi woke up the next morn, dawn welcomed her with gentle rays of sunlight that flooded the room. Eventually, Ichiro and Etsuko woke, and soon enough, they were all ready and eager.
Except her, of course.
When they approached the man recruiting soldiers, he eyed her suspiciously.
“What’s a young girl doing signing up fer the army?” he question in a gruff voice. He was a thin, young man, with jet black hair tied back in a ponytail. He looked only sixteen or so.
“Miss Aoi is interested and enthusiastic about the war,” Etsuko answered, that smile plastered on her face. Oh, really?
“I’m not permitted to let women in, unless they come from important families, so you’ll have to go,” he replied. Etsuko frowned.
“Sir, we are from the Higurashi clan; a babe from our family is more important than your wisest ancestor.”
The man, slightly taken aback, began to stammer, but before he said anything, he collected himself and narrowed his eyes. “I’m sorry; Milady, but I need evidence of this.”
“Aoi, show him the letter,” Ichiro urged in a whisper. Aoi rolled her eyes, ready to kick him where it counts, but she obeyed nonetheless and handed the man her scroll. She watched as his amber irises flickered across the page, probing the words before apologizing in a stern voice,
“I’m sorry, Milady Aoi. You are permitted to enter. Your servants may accompany you, and you are to be part of the Blue Dragon archer division.” He handed her the scroll. “You may keep this in case any of the men question you. You are to have your own tent as well,” he added as he scribbled something down on his sheet of paper. “Thank you, Milady. You may pass.” Aoi curtsied.
“Thank you, sir. Where do I go?”
“Outside of town,” he answered briskly. “They’re training there.”
After that, her maids were given her bags and supplies, and Aoi bid her farewells to her aunt and cousin, tears in her and Ichiro’s eyes. She waved good-bye to them, and strolled to the outside of town with her servants.
There, she found the men. A few cast her odd glimpses, probably wondering the same as her: why was she here? But nonetheless, she continued to walk across the lawn, trying not to make eye contact with the other soldiers, as she now was.
Suddenly, she noted a man with silver hair and a lined face approach her, and warily, she continued to strut across the grass, only to have the man stop her.
“Madam, I’m afraid you are not permitted to be here,” he reprimanded, staring at her coldly.
“Actually, I am,” she argued, and she brought out the scroll and gave it to him. “Read it. It explains everything.” Maybe he’ll make me go back home anyway… she dreamed as she watched his eyes probe the words.
But, instead, he nodded. “Very well. We have an extra tent at the edge of the camp.” He pointed to it, and, as if on cue, Aoi followed his finger to see a large crimson tent with a raven black Fire Nation insignia on its sides. “That one will be yours. However, your maids will have their own tent. It will be the one next to yours. Also, do not associate yourself with the men on a regular basis.” Aoi nodded.
“Yes, sir.” He dismissed her after that, and immediately, she motioned to her servants and hurried into the tent.
Inside was a simple scarlet cot, with a small dresser, table, and mirror as well. Must have been set up for someone of noble blood, she assumed.
Immediately, her maids scurried around her new home and unpacked for her, before she sent them away to their own tent.
Well…I’m sure they don’t expect me to begin today, she thought. Undressing, she folded her kimono and placed it neatly in a drawer before slipping into her jinbei.
As soon as she did, she released her ebony waves from its confinements of a bun, brushed it hastily, and slid under the covers of her new cot and went to sleep.

The meeting didn’t go as well as Riko expected. Long story short, it was nothing but mistrustful faces all around her. Then again, she knew she couldn’t be trusted. That would bring around their downfall. Enough of that though, she was requested to “make herself at home” in this cold climate. She would have to make the most of it then.
“Hmm, so to the east is my new house for now.”
Her new home was made of ice. Her surroundings were made of ice. Alright EVERYTHING was made of ice.
“I wonder what they eat here.” She said with a scowl on her face
Deciding walking this whole morning was enough for her to “feel at home” she simply plopped down onto a mound of snow.
“I never knew I’d miss home so soon. Well, I guess since I’m talking to myself it would be a good indication that I might go crazy.”
As she chuckled to herself she traced the outline of the three pronged flame and once again wondered if the Fire Lord conquering the other nations was such a good idea after all. Just then she heard the sounds of swishing water nearby and turned to see a Waterbender from the training camp.

As Maiku entered the camp, he was shocked at what he saw. The men looked like they hadn't bathed in weeks. They were hunched over in a corner rolling dice. Maiku also a women entering one of the tents. "What is she doing here," Maiku thought to himself.
Then a deep voice asked, "papers please."
Maiku pulled out the papers he had gotten from the recruiter and handed it to the man with the deep voice. "Everything is in order now. All the housing is filled, so it looks like you will be sleeping outside." The man said. "That's all right, Maiku said, but before I go though could you tell me who that girl is?"
"Yes I can, the man answered, she is Aoi, a member of the Higurashi clan, one of the most influential families in the Fire Nation."
"I think I would like to meet her," Maiku said.
"You can if you want, but don't do anything stupid or it will be the death of you," the man said in a cautioning way.
Ignoring what the man just said Maiku approached the tent. As he drew near to it he said, "I am Maiku, may I come in?"
Then he waited for a reply.

Right after Maiku left, another man entered the training camp. Wearing the simple dress of a servant messenger, he handed the officer a scroll, bowed, and left. The officer read the scroll, and immediately marched off to one of the larger tents, where he delivered the scroll to the division commander. Not long after that the junior officers gathered all around and asked for their attention, and the commander came out of his tent and stepped on a crate. He looked around, and then spoke loud enough to be heard in the entire camp; “Men! I have a rather important message for you. I have just had word from the Norinoko family, that one of their daughters from the Capitol is missing. She is said to be an expert archer, and her parents think she may try to sign up here, or even tag along in a clandestine manner.” A junior officer held up a scroll, depicting a woman in her early twenties, with long dark hair and big eyes – a handsome, strong face. “When you spot this woman, report her to me immediately. It is feared that she may defect to the Earth Kingdom, and she may already be there. So keep an eye out when we go to war, so that we may find this possible traitor!” He stepped off the crate, and went back inside his tent. The remaining officers dismissed the men, and soon things went back to normal in the camp… ((I don’t mean to interfere with your plans or ‘schedules’, this is a hook I am planning to use in the future… You don’t have to act on it, but this make sure some things don’t come as a total surprise )

"Who is it?" she murmured, only to realize her circumstances and whip the covers from herself. "Oh, um, yes, just a moment!" she cried, undressing hastily before slipping into a simple, short yukata. Brushing her hair, she put it up again. Is it another official? she wondered. "All right, I'm sorry. You may enter," she said, heaving a sigh of relief.

Maiku, while waiting patiently for Aoi's reply realized he was not prepared to see one of such high status. He smelled like a pack of wild rhinos, his clothes were tattered, and he looked darker than the night from not bathing.
While in mid thought, Maiku heard a voice say "you may enter."
Maiku then entered the tent. As he entered, he noticed that she had a mirror, and many luxuries only the wealthy could afford.
Maiku bowed towards Aoi and said, Thank you for allowing me to enter your tent."
Before she could say anything Maiku said, "If I may, I would like to know what someone as important as you is doing here."
