Daisuke was strict and merciless, as usual. After Aoi had practiced her archery, the young tutor had drawn his broad swords for a duel.
She lost, of course.
He weaved around her easily as she fumbled with the blades, and soon enough, she was on the ground and he was sheathing his weapon, saying, “You should stop reading and practice more,” before he strutted away.
As soon as she watched him leave, she rolled her eyes. “Pfft.” The thirteen-year-old began to stand up, dusting herself off as she muttered, “That stupid, cocky jerk…thinking he’s so great. And what’s with that stupid collected attitude? ‘Oh, you need stop reading and practice, oh, ho, ho!’” She sighed, sheathing her broad swords before taking a seat by the pond, a tress of raven black hair dangling before her eyes. She glared at it and whisked it away before staring coldly at the surface of the water.
She spent most of the morning strolling around the garden, until, suddenly; she heard swift footsteps, as if someone was running to her. Is that Ichiro…? she thought, only to see that it was a young servant girl, probably only seven in years, her ebony braid bouncing against her back as she ran. Aoi stood up, and the servant girl slowed to a halt as she reached her.
Panting, the girl performed a clumsy curtsy before stammering, “M-Milady Aoi…”
“Yes?” she asked, kneeling a bit so that she could meet eye contact with the girl. The girl had large, vibrant amber eyes, and long, dark lashes complimented them perfectly. The girl took another breath before continuing.
“You-you’re wanted,” she said, before adding, “In the front room.” Aoi nodded.
“What’s your name?” she asked.
“Atsuko.”
“Atsuko, did they tell you why they want me?” Atsuko nodded her head.
“No…” she said, her voice edged with an apologetic tone. Aoi exhaled sharply, twirling a strand of her black hair around her finger.
“Here, I should go,” the older girl said, turning around and heading towards the house. “Thank you, Atsuko.” She gave her a smile. “You did a great job. You’re dismissed.” The young girl beamed, a grin spreading from ear to ear before she dashed away.
Aoi sighed, strolling calmly to the front room, but inside of her mind, thoughts bounded around wildly, racing through her head at the speed of light. I’m not summoned very often…Is it a betrothal? she questioned herself mentally. Has something happened inside the Royal family? Is Ichiro ill again?
Ichiro was somewhat of a frail boy, so at thinking this, she bit her lip and quickened her pace. Eventually, she reached the front room, and there, her Uncle Tatsuo sat coolly on a chair, and her father sat next to him. She forced a smile, curtsying a bit.
“You…wanted to see me?” she asked. Her father nodded, and she noted how her uncle’s fingers toyed endlessly with one of the ends of his sleeves. Clearing his throat, Tatsuo began,
“You know very well, Aoi that our country was on the brink of war with the other nations.” She nodded slowly. Was…?
“Yes…” Her father glanced anxiously at his brother before his eyes came in contact with her own.
“Well, the Fire Nation,” her father started, “has officially decided to go to war. Your uncle is joining, and I’m thinking about joining up again as well.
She was just a bit shocked by the news, but the Fire Nation had been ready to declare war on the other countries for awhile now, so it wasn’t a huge stun. Taking a seat, she rested her cheek in her hand, rubbing the bridge of her nose with her fingers before asking, in a choked voice,
“W-why are you…why are you joining?”
“Because it is our duty, Aoi,” Tatsuo replied gruffly. “Just be thankful that Ichiro isn’t joining to help us with armor and weaponry.”
“Does he know?” Aoi asked.
“Yes, he does,” her uncle answered immediately. “He wanted to join, but not for the sake of aiding the men with equipment.” She shook her head, burying her face in her hands.
“Excuse me, Milord.”
---
The water in the bathhouse was lukewarm, and she swished her legs around in the liquid. Ichiro sat next to her, creating splashes and ripples on the surface of the water by kicking his legs.
He droned, on and on, about how he hoped the war would last long enough for him to grow older and join as a soldier. He voiced his dreams of becoming a general and helping his country destroy the Air Nomads.
“They’re so stuck up,” he explained. “Why won’t they let anyone in their stupid temples?”
Ichiro continued on and on about he wanted to be able to learn how to use swords perfectly, and how he wanted to be able to use his gift of firebending for the good of the nation. But she wasn’t listening. Her train of thought had drifted away from their conversation, or rather, him talking, so when he inquired on what she wanted to do to help the war, she said basically nothing.
“Hm?”
“What do you want to do to help the war?” She was snapped out of her thought, so she simply shrugged.
“I can’t really do much,” she finally said. “My skills at archery aren’t half bad, but I’m terrible at broad swords, and I’m not a bender.” She grinned at him. “That reminds me: do you mind heating the water up a bit?”
According to him, he had just learned how to simply make things warmer by firebending. “It’s really hard,” he said, dipping his hands in the water. “But Sifu Shatoshi has been helping me a lot, so I’m gettin’ better.” She nodded as the temperature of the liquid rose, a steam eventually ascending into the air.
“Thanks,” she said, and after about half an hour of listening to the young boy continue about the war and his dreams, she excused herself and went to her room, where she buried her face into her pillow and fell into a light afternoon nap.

Aang was in the Spa meditating and thinking why he was the main attention. "So what if I'm the Avatar, I'm still the same old Airbender..." thought Aang. He felt the door open and a gust of cold air rush in. Aang opened his eyes to see another Airbender named "Lei" from the Northern Air Temple. "Oh sorry, was I interrupting anything??" asked Lei. "No I was just sweating my problems away....." replied Aang breathlessly. Aang grabbed his towel and walked out of the Spa. Aang kept thinking of the War that was arising and still the thought made him feel depressed. "Now I have the whole World on my shoulders!" muttered Aang harshly. As he was going into the Temple, there was a crowd of girls all around a tree full of thorn-less Pandalilies and as he walked by they all stopped talking and stared at him. Aang glanced at the girls and one very pretty girl smiled at him and Aang quickened his pace. -------Later That Night------- "Gyatso, why does everyone treat me differently??" asked Aang. Gyatso sighed before he answered, "Young Avatar, you are a special gift to the world and now that there is a war it was believed that you would be the most strongest Avatar known to man, or so we thought, now everyone doubts you because you were told that you were the Avatar before you were 16, but we had to tell you now for war is arising and Dark Times are coming, but do not let these visions haunt you Aang, you need to feel happiness, love, and kindness and many more emotions, but don't think of hate and anger for that will make matters even worse, but you still have happiness and you will someday in your life find love that will erase all of your depression, don't kepp thinking about because I belive in you Aang" replied Gyatso. "That was some good advice I'll say! Thanks Gyatso, I feel loads better!!! NOT!!!" droned Aang. "I still have this pit of dread in my stomach...." said Aang. "This feeling is there because your chakra is not flowing and you are not ready....This will go away and just believe Aang, I know you can do it......" replied Gyatso. "Thanks Gyatso...I needed that..." said Aang......He yawned walked up the stairs to his room...

The news flooded through Iko's house quickly. War was here, war was there. Troops prepared, troops marched. Yet Iko thought nothing of it, and she ignored the pleas of her parents who begged her to come in at night.
"I don't really care what soldiers come along, they don't have quite the skill as I." She rehearsed everytime she was told to come in.
The war, such as some wars earlier had meant nothing to her. There were many wars throughout history, the Conquest of Chin, unification of the Earth Kingdom. All of these meant nothing to her, and it never really came across her mind about the people who left to die. She never needed to concern herself with the skirmishes of the countries, because for all she knew, she never needed to go to war.
She was wrong.
Iko spent the day wandering through the town, giving away deadly gazes to those who stared at her. She stalked slowly around the city, searching for nothing in particular. With a fan up to her face, and long silky robes flowing down from her, she saw a boy whom she knew, rushing towards her.
"Iko! Iko! Did you hear? I'm going off to war tommorow!" He laughed out and blushed at her presence.
"Are you coming back?"
At this he blushed even more, and cried out: "Of course! I would never leave you behind!"
"What a pity."
His smile quickly vanished from his face, and a tinge of sorrow swept over him.
"What's wrong?" She asked him insincerely.
"N-Nothing." He stammered.
"Come now, you wouldn't believe that I would care for you? That I would wish you back here? Go off peasant, go and get crushed by the rocks of those savages."
He cringed his face and looked directly down, while she slowly walked off moving her hair to the back and laughing loudly yet in a lady-like way.
Some weeks passed and she heard no sign of war, or rahter - she paid no attention to it. One day, however, her father came home with some news stating that they had been encouraged by the Magistrates to move over to conquered Earth Kingdom towns and begin colonizing. She looked down upon this idea but still accepted (she thought of the wonders of torturing little Earth Kingdom Savages), within a week they woudl be moving to the Earth Kingdom.

Akane walked down the hall to her family's eating quarters. She was silent for once, and could only hear the sounds of her feet padding along the floor. When Akane reached the dinning room she sat in an available pillow and began to nible on the papaya placed before her. "Akane?" Akane looked up. "Yes mother?" Akane asked while looking at the woman across from her. "You've been quieter since the war has started, is there anything you'd like to share?" Akane fidgeted nervously, if she told them her feelings she would be considered a traitor, if she didn't, well, she'd explode. "NO! Nothing is wrong!" Akane angrily answered, yep she took the explosion road. Huang laughed, "Yeah right you're mad you just got to the 3rd set of bending stances at you're age!" Akane growled and picked up a loaf of bread and promptly threw it at her brother's head. "AKANE! We do not throw food in this house!" "HE STARTED IT!" Akane screamed and glared at her family sitting before her. "That gives you no reason, and he was right too!" her father said strictly, "You should be at a higher level at your age Akane!" Akane, tired of this discussion night after night, got up from the table, grabbed an oyster and entered her room. Little did she know that things were going to get worse as the war raged on.

Shinasha leaned over the wooden beams of the railing. The captain had said they would make landfall today, and she was hoping to catch the first glimpse of the Earth Kingdom.
She had been at sea for weeks, and she had been seasick during the first few days. Often one could see her running out of her quarters and hanging over the side of the ship vomiting, to much amusement of the crew. But after about a week the seasickness was fading, and she could walk around normally. She even started to help out the crew on occasions, out of utter boredom. Something she’d never even think of doing back home; helping out a peasant in his daily routines.
At first there had been erotic and taunting comments, as well as some ‘intimate touchings’ when the captain wasn’t looking, but some harsh words empowered by flame-enveloped fists made short work of that, and now the crew was even starting to respect her. If only a little. And life on board had become a little more bearable because of it.
Now she found herself longing to set foot on solid ground again. And soon, her patience was rewarded. A thin, dark line rose up on the horizon, growing bigger by the minute. Soon Shinasha could discern the shapes of a small village on a low cliff, and some small boats in the water below. “Land!” She cried. “At last!” The captain looked up from his charts, and smiled. He walked to the aft deck, and yelled; “Mainsail to port! Full speed to starboard! Course south, we’re almost there!” Even the hardened sailors were lifted by his words and the thought of home, and quickly they carried out his orders. But Shinasha was a little disappointed. “You mean we aren’t going to land?” -“Don’t worry, girl. We’re heading south, to Nin Sal. It’s one of the biggest port towns to Omashu, we should be there by nightfall. Only slightly comforted, Shinasha went back to her spot on the bow of the boat, watching the shore pass by on her left…
It was only a few hours later when the ship reached Nin Sal. Immediately the crew started unloading, and Shinasha approached the captain. “How much longer until we reach Chameleon Bay?” -“We’re about halfway there now, it’s pretty much on the other side of the kingdom.” “And you can’t go any faster…?” -“Faster? If anything, we’ll be going slower. We have a couple of ports to visit, and we’ll have to navigate some treacherous waters.” “Oh…” Shinasha looked down, pondering on whether she should stay on board or not. -“Look, if you want to beat us there, I suggest you find yourself an Ostrich Horse, and ride east along the mountains. That should get you there a couple of days faster than us.” “I think I’ll do that. Thank you for your care, sir.” -“You’re welcome, milady,” he replied with a bow. “It is not often that we have such pleasant passengers.” Shinasha gave him a smile, and walked off the plank onto the pier. Passing a few of the crew, she made her way to the main village. The sun was already lowering on the horizon, and she was getting weary from the long sea journey.
Quickly reaching the village, Shinasha started looking for a place to rest. She stumbled upon a small inn. It was a dirty little place, but seeing as it was the only one there, she had little choise. Reluctant, she went inside. Immediately the smell of Tobacco and alcohol entered her nose, and she found it repulsive. The place was crammed full of laborers and sailors, and despite the fact that it was only around dinner time, most of them were already drunk. Finding an empty stool, Shinasha ordered a meal. She didn’t expect much of it, but it turned out to be even less. A gooey substance that resembled a mixture between dirt and mashed potatoes. It tasted bad, but it stilled her hunger. Most of the food she had brought from home had already been eaten or gone bad. When a barmaid finally approached to clear the plate, Shinasha decided to stay for the night. “Excuse me, I would like to sleep here for the night.” -“I’m sorry milady,” the girl replied firmly. “We’re pretty much filled up. Them sailors have arrived today, an’ won’t be leavin’ till tomorrow.” “And there are no other establishments where I could rest?” -“No other guest houses, if that’s what ye mean. But you could always try some of the locals, they’re often kind enough to offer up a spot.” “Thank you for your help.” Replied Shinasha coldly, and she left some money on the table. She stood up and left, relieved to be out of the smell of the inn. But now it was dark, and she still didn’t have a place to stay.
The streets were dark and quiet, and only a few lanterns shed some light on the gloomy alleys. Shinasha had left the village, after an hour of not finding any lodgings. Not used to sleeping outside and truly getting desperate, Shinasha approached a small farm and knocked on the door. An elderly man opened, and behind him Shinasha could see some other people sitting around the dinner table. “Excuse me for disturbing you at this late hour sir…” started Shinasha. Shyly, for the first time in her life. “I was wondering if I could find a place to stay the night here.” The man looked her up and down. At first there was some suspicion in his eyes, but that faded into a gentle smile. -“Ofcourse. Come in, we were about to have dinner. You can have some, if you like. And you can sleep in the barn tonight; there is a pile of fresh hay, and there should be some blankets lying around should you get cold.” “Thank you, sir..” replied Shinasha, and she entered.
Just over an hour later Shinasha was fast asleep in the one place had never thought she would never spend the night. In a barn, lying on hay and covered by rough blankets, on a small peasant’s farm in the earth kingdom…

The air was still, quiet and had an overall foreboding feeling. Apparently the rumored war was soon to become a reality and this caused Riko great distress. “Strike fast!” yelled her mother with a jab to the right, to the left, a high kick narrowly missing Riko’s abdomen as she bent backwards.
“Ha…ha…” her panting came fast and hard. They had been at this the whole morning and still her mother wasn’t satisfied. The war was coming and she was to uphold the family’s honor.
“Mother! Please, I have to do my Firebending exercises!” as Riko said this her mother suddenly back flipped and took the Kwan Dao with ease that was laying on the sweat laden training grounds. The sharp tip of the blade moved forward, silent and swift. Equally fast, the pair of butterfly knives countered the attack.
“ Firebending is a sacred art, if you cannot utilize it as an extension of your body you will bring dishonor to this family, if you cannot master the martial arts you will easily create an opening.” Another quick jab and the wood end successfully collided with Riko’s feet which caused her to fall to the hard ground.
“If you allow yourself to create an opening, you will die.”
“I won’t die in war mother.”
“I expected as such Riko but you have to understand that this is for your own good. The enemy will not stop attacking if you say so. The Earth Kingdom troops are hard and determined. They will do anything to win this war. The Water Tribes are even more dangerous, we are their natural opposite! Their element extinguishes ours and their bending art allows them to flow with ease and adapt to the battle like no other. The Air Nomads are unpredictable; you must be ready to face an unexpected blow. Your Father, your Grandfather, they will not weep if you die from the blow of an oaf Earth Kingdom soldier, much less from a Water Tribe peasant, even less from a homeless Air Nomad. You must survive…you”
“Will you weep?” said Riko standing and dusting off her robes. “What?” amber eyes questioned with a deep sorrow hidden in their depths. “Will you weep if I die in the war against the other nations?”
Suddenly she was in her Mother’s arms as fast as a candle blown out by the wind. Resting her head on her mother’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of her embrace she then knew that her mother would weep. Breaking the embrace she walked over to the bench where a tray of cold water sat and began to drink reveling in the refreshing cold it provided that soothed her bones after a long morning of training. Next to the tray was a scroll and as she gazed at its written contents she gave a frown.
“There have been problems lately; your Grandfather thinks it will be best if we talk about them later on today.”
“Fine, I’ll be reading for a while in the library after Firebending.”
“I’ll send for you later dear.”
Turning to face her mother Riko bowed deeply, sheathed her butterfly knives and walked off to take a bath. This was certainly going to be a long day.

After spending the entire night meditating on what he had done wrong while fighting Maiku realized what the problem was. The problem was he was not as powerful a bender he believed himself to be. "What should I do," he thought to himself. Should I stay and continue my training, or should I join the army?" At the very moment he knew what he had to do.
"Master Poe," Maiku said while bowing, "I have decided to end my training now." "But why," Poe inquired. "Because I do not want to be stuck here training while I could be fighting in the war," Maiku replied. "I cannot choose your path for you Maiku, I can only guide you. I think you should stay here, there are many more fire benders with much more skill than you," Poe said. "I know that, but I have already made up my mind. I am most grateful for all that you have done for me, but now I must leave," Maiku said as he left the his for the last time. As he left Master Poe took a sighed, and went to his room to meditate.
Maiku traveled around the beautiful town, the town he had called home for the past three years. He found a firenation army recruiting post. He approached it and asked the recruiter if he could join the army. The recruiter, who was a decorated veteran asked Maiku what part of the army he wanted to join. Maiku thought for a moment. He remembered what Poe said about there being better firebenders in the army so he decided to be an archer. "Hurry up, I don't have all day," the veteran angrily said. "I want to join the archers, "Maiku quickly said. Good, we need more archers. You are assigned to the Blue Dragon archer division." The veteran said. "Were do I go?" Maiku asked. The division is training just outside of town. Your training begins tomorrow." The veteran said. "Thank you," Maiku said and then began to head towards the exit of the town.
He wondered what he was getting himself into, but quickly pushed the thought aside. Tomorrow was a brand new start for him, and he was planning to make the best of it.

Scroll, after scroll, after scroll. Who knew one could get so much pleasure and relaxation reading about anything and everything. The atmosphere was perfect! Soft cushions, the sun shedding its warm light outside the open window while munching on fire flakes and sipping green tea, nothing was better than this. Ok, maybe Firebending and training but it never hurt anyone to take a break from the thrill of the koryu (war) arts. Suddenly there was a faint tapping of feet.
“It would please me greatly if you didn’t sneak all the time.” Said Riko as her palm opened to reveal a burning flame.
“I’m sorry mistress…but”
“Mei, you’ve been here for over a month now, surely you don’t think I’d hurt you still?”
The maid, Mei try as she might couldn’t suppress the blush that was creeping from her embarrassment. Bowing low she continued “Your Grandfather requests your attendance. Your Mother and siblings are there as well.”
“Thank you.” Said Riko as she extinguished the flame
As she set foot into her Grandfather’s quarters she was met by solemn faces. Thinking this wasn’t a very good sign Riko dismissed her concerns and sat between her siblings Ryou and Setsuka.
“Late again sis.” Murmured Ryou with a smirk
“I don’t see why you sent the messenger so late if it was imperative for me to be early.” Replied Riko with a glare
“Ryou, Riko can you guys just lay off for now?” said Setsuka with a frown and a glance to their Mother who gave them a stern look.
The three quieted at once and gave their undivided attention to their aging Grandfather who had worry written all over his face.
“I have news from the Fire Lord.” “Is it time Father?” “Yes, I expect all of you to make this family proud.”
The three siblings stared at their elders with questions that they knew shouldn’t be asked while the silence droned on until Ryou stood and bowed, first to their Mother and then to their Grandfather.
“What is our assignment?”
“I’m afraid all of you will not be together in this war. Ryou you will be in your Father’s division. Your mission is to negotiate plans for an alliance with the Water Tribes.”
Slowly the aging man handed a scroll to the youth and said “You shall leave now, be fast. The Water Tribes are not to be trusted.”
“What must I do?”
“Dear Setsuka, I’m afraid you will be at sea for quite some time. Patrol these waters, protect your nation. The Earth Kingdom seems to be getting hostile around us. I suspect your battles shall be on land and sea. Take this; one of the fleets shall be at your command.”
As her two siblings gave a bow of respect to their Grandfather and embraced their Mother probably for the last time Riko stood to receive her mission. Ryou and Setsuka set off at once to prepare for their journey not even glancing back while barking orders for a suitable ostrich-horse.
“Riko, this mission requires patience and your namesake.”
“Being clever?”
“Yes, you will be collecting information for the Fire Lord and more importantly for our nation. Most likely you will be in Earth Kingdom territory but if you find an important lead and it takes you to the Water Tribes or the Air Nomads, seize the opportunity. War is not a game Riko, it is not like fairy tales where there is a guaranteed happy ending. Your siblings as well as yourself will be in grave danger every waking moment.”
“I will not jeopardize this mission. I assure you that.”
Gracefully the old man stood and motioned for Riko to open a nearby chest.
“Keep this with you. I’m sure it will give you hope in times of need. But be careful where you decide to display it. The other nations are no longer to be trusted and if they see our symbol I am certain they will want your head on a platter.” At this the elder began to laugh with great mirth
“Father, I do not see what can be so funny about my daughter’s head on a platter!”
Meanwhile Riko pulled out the contents of the chest which happened to be a red sash and emblazoned on its middle was the three pronged flame. However there was also writing on the back of the sash that was carefully sewn into a design resembling smoke. Curious she turned it over and read its message.
"Control yourself, let others do what they will.
This does not mean you are weak. Control your heart, obey the principles of life. This does not mean others are stronger."
With a smile she wrapped the sash around her waist in a manner that concealed the three pronged flame and turned to reply.
“Mother, you really shouldn’t feel at all slighted. Grandfather has a wonderful sense of humor.” Smiling she gave them both a hug and left to pack up her supplies. She would leave tonight; this mission required the cover of darkness.

Kasei looked up to the sky as he returned from training, after the youth had returned from his own personal training the unit had had a couple hours break to eat, and relax before the unit went their own way for their individual training.
Kasei smiled inside as they pulled out their weapons, his of course being two swords. He fixed a small strand of black hair that swept forward, placing it behind his ear before they were practicing in pairs. The generals walked around, evaluating their skills and so on.
His partner pulled out a sword and got ready, soon they were fighting. The other was actually quite good, quick moves, strong attack. He noted the younger kid could work a little on his footing though.
Eventually they all finished, the higher-ups looking generally pleased. One even asked up what style he was using, Kasei hoped that was a good thing…
Sitting down he reflected on his training wondering what else would happen. What did his destiny have laid out, his Fate? Or is there even fate? What is fate but another’s Free-will thrust upon your own? Maybe he would figure this out by the time he was done in the army.

((gonna be honest... no idea how to start this))
Okami wasn't sure how long she had been riding Tomo, her Sky Bison, but she did know that he was tired and needed rest. She of course was fine, having slept a lot while on Tomo's back. But she was awake now, scanning the mountain for a familiar sight, and when she saw it her heart swelled. It had been a long time since she had been home. Tomo was excited too and let out a roar and flew faster, not needing Okami to urge him.
They were at the Air Temple within in minutes. When they landed Okami jumped off. Okami wasn't expecting a fan fair or anything, but she was hoping that someone would notice her. And it wasn't like there was a shortage of people, most were running about, like they were preparing something. None of them even noticed her. Okami was more disturbed then angry, if there was something that was making the normally laid back atmosphere of the temple change something was wrong.
"Come on Tomo," Okami said walking next to him, "Lets find out whats going on." Tomo grunted his agreement and they walked toward the middle of the temple. Once there she politely tried to get someones attention, but even those younger then her weren't paying attention. finally she got fed up.
"What's going on!?!" She yelled up into the air, using some of her bending to make her voice carry more then it normally would. She didn't care if she was going to get scolded, she just wanted to know what was going on.

"What!" screamed Nokoro's mother, "What do you mean you're going to fight in the war?!"
"I have to use my waterbending and strength to help protect the Northern Water Tribe!" explained Nokoro, "I need to fight for my nation!"
"I guess you're right... Are you sure you want to do this?"
"More than anything."
"Then, it's decided. You may go."
Nokoro hugged his mother and left to the training camp. He already told his father about joining the war a couple of days ago and he nonchalantly accepted the idea. On his way to the camp, which was far away in the outskirts of the Northern Water Tribe, he kept thinking about how the Fire Nation had become too arrogant and how they thought that they were the best. But, he knew that they were wrong. He knew that even though firebending could be very powerful, it lacked defensive moves and was only focused on brute force. Waterbending was more adaptable and had more variety because not only could waterbenders bend water, but also steam and ice.
"The Northern Water Tribe Training Camp! Wow!" he said dreamily.
"Name?" said the man with the list of enlisted Water Tribe warriors.
"Nokoro Harima" he said with pride.
"You may enter."
He entered and saw many people training with weapons and waterbending. His eyes were glowing with amazement as he stared at the strong and powerful army of the Northern Water Tribe. On the left side were the non-bender warriors and on the right side were the waterbending warriors. He went to the right side to talk to the chief. He was ready to put his powers to good use.

Suzume had heard the news just this afternoon.
The Fire Lord had proclaimed war.
The waving banners and colorful tents...the laughing and the music and the warmth...Everything seemed cheapened now that the war had finally begun. Of course, the Nomads had known for a while now that war could not be far off, but for the announcement to come the fortnight before the festival...
Suzume wiped her sweaty palms on her tunic. She disliked the idea of war, but she knew that she had to do something to help with the effort. She needed something more.
Leaping off of the stone dais on which she had been perched, Suzume snapped open her glider. She flew aloft over hundreds of colored tents, some of which she herself had raised. After the incident with Yasu, a messenger hawk had arrived from the Earth Kingdom. And then, ten minutes and twenty minutes later, hawks had arrived from the Northern and Western Air Temples. Her mentor had left her to meet in the inner temple with the other high-ranking masters. They would meditate and come to a decision on what the Air Nomads would do to stifle the looming conflict.
She touched down on another platform, but this was one made of earth, and natural plateau. Massive stone stables stood, sheltering a few dozen Air Bison. Suzume walked the worn path to Kimochi's stall, and patted her friend on the nose. "Hey there, buddy." she said softly. Kimochi stared at Suzume accusingly, and blew a puff of air in her face. "I know, I know." Suzume said. "I forgot your breakfast. But I didn't eat anything either, and I have a good excuse."
Kimochi grunted inquisitively. "The Fire Nation has declared war." Suzume said, in hushed tones. "They haven't told the younger ones..They don't want to frighten them. " Suzume continued stroking Kimochi's golden-brown arrow.
"I suppose I'll join the fight, if there is one...They're not forcing anyone to join, in case they're...morally objecting. I just feel like I need to prove myself. And who does the Fire Nation think they are anyway?! Wreaking havoc. This isn't the first time in history they've caused trouble! Sometimes I dream of just putting them to an end! Maybe if the Fire Nation was gone, the nations wouldn't fight at all."
However, as soon as she had said it, Suzume knew that it was wrong. The Fire Nation's people as a whole couldn't ALL be evil...could they? Why did they have to ruin the festival anyhow? It just wasn't fair. She also thought about it from a more mature point of view. 'We need their resources..' she thought. 'Moreover, they need ours. This war will likely plunge all of the nations into debt, and there is no doubt that many lives will be lost.'
Brooding on this, Suzume saddled Kimochi and took his embroidered rope lead in her hands. She jumped up onto his head, a little too hard, by the way he grunted. Once they were clear of the stables, Kimochi prepared to take off. "Cha!" Suzume yelled. Kimochi vaulted into the air, moving his six legs in a swimming motion to gain altitude. It was at times like these that Suzume felt truly free, twining with the clouds and becoming one with the air. It was good that she had been able to express her feelings out loud, even if Kimochi couldn't talk back. However, she knew that he too was troubled by the war, judging by his reactions to her speech...
Suzume was glad that she could fly up here with Kimochi..She had so much on her mind. She had three major things to worry about; the war, of course. Would she be able to become a master and join in the effort? Would the nations even survive? Her second worry was her initiation audition. A Nomad became a full member of the Temple when they became a master; even if they were only the lowest ranking monks, they had a voice in council. She wanted so dearly to prove herself. Yasu had become a master at thirteen...Her third concern was that of the festival. A great weight had been lifted off of her shoulders when Yasu told her that she would become her apprentice, but Suzume and all of the Eastern Temple's monks still had the pressure on them of making the festival the best ever.
She brooded on these things.

(Oh shoot, I don't know how to begin.)
Nomi stroked the white mist brushing past Hana’s soft fur, a melancholy expression gracing her face. She felt chained and imprisoned upon her Master’s bison sailing to the Chrysanthemum festival. Their speed envied that of a turtle duck’s and Nomi wasn't sure she could contain the excitement of their week long journey. The caravan of flying beasts began to accelerate. The young Airbender climbed to the front of Hana’s saddle to sit by her antiquated master. What’s wrong? Nomi searched the field of wispy clouds ahead of them. A storm? With a glance towards a Master, Nomi flipped over the side of the bison and her glider span open to examine the oncoming storm. She dove beneath the layer of clouds and appeared a couple hundred feet above the earth, soaked with condensation. The Airbender squinted down to the Earth Nation coast, and then to the south-Fire Nation? Replacing the merchant ships that used to litter the sea a navy of fierce-looking vessels were docked. Nomi glided back up to the caravan, her glider rocking back and forth through the growing winds. When settled back on Hana she looked to her wise mentor in fear. Iris sat erect and stated softly into the sky, “A greater storm is approaching”.

Aang looked around and all he saw was darkness.
"Why is it so dark in here!?!?!"
All of a sudden he saw a bolt of lightning outside his window.
"No wonder, lightning storm" Aang muttered.
"Why can't the Festival just come and end so I can get on with my life and so no-one can keep staring at me??" he continued. Aang couldn't fall asleep and so he pulled on some of his new robes he had gotten. The Avatar was supposed to get new clothes and so his new clothes were orange robes with a hood and he also kept his tunic under his robes. Aang walked into the hallway and saw nobody, he only saw the lightning and rain outside the glass-less windows. Aang kept walking down the hallway pausing at every corner to see if anyone was there.....He walked down to the Sacred Avatar Room. He gulped for new that he wasn't allowed to enter this room until he was 16. Aang took a stance and sent Airblasts at the door and it opened. But before he could enter he heard footsteps and he jumped out the window and into the soaked courtyard. He ran up the stairs and into his room. ______THAT AFTERNOON_________ Once it was the afternoon, there was talk of who left the Sacred Avatar Room open. Now Aang was in trouble and he new it.

The sun rose high above the lands when Shinasha had left the farm. She had thanked the kind people for their hospitality, and generously compensated them for providing her with supplies for her trip. She had told them she was going to Omashu for a few days, only to move on to Ba Sing Se, to her father’s trading post there to run it while the war lasted. They had asked her why she would keep it open if they were to conquer it and she wasn’t quite sure if she had managed to convince them, but they had remained kind to her, and she even bought an ostrich horse from them. A strong black beast that looked like it could run for hours and keep walking for days. Sadly, she also noted that her money pouch was running empty very quickly if she kept going on like this.
Now Shinasha was heading south-east, away from Omashu. She was following the captain’s advice, and decided to travel around the foggy swamp, then over the mountains, and then head east along the southern foothills of the mountains towards Chameleon Bay. She knew she would never get into the eastern Air Temple; nobody besides airbenders ever did. But she hoped she could find a place to stay in the lands of the Air Nomads, as far away from the Fire Nation and the war as possible. Although the thought of the many battles thrilled her and filled her with a kind of longing, she knew she couldn’t be seen firebending; she would be seen as a traitor, taken back to her parents, and be grounded forever. Or worse. Luckily she could get by on her archery, and with a little luck she wouldn’t be discovered.
Now the foggy swamp lay behind her, to the west, and the mountains rose up high in the distance. The sun was up high, and there were only few clouds. Little did Shinasha know that the fire-nation armadas had already set sail, and the first landing would soon be made. For now, Shinasha was heading towards a small village, just up the road…
“Halt! Who goes there!” A harsh voice sounded from behind a tree next to the road. Or perhaps in it. Shinasha halted the ostrich horse and let the reins slip. -“Just a lonely traveler heading for the mountains yonder.” She replied, seemingly casual. “And what would a girl such as yourself want in those mountains?” The voice replied. -“To cross, and travel east.” Replied Shinasha, getting slightly agitated. “Look, either you tell my what you want from me, or you let me pass.” “Now, now, girl. No need to get angry. One can never be too careful these days.” From behind the tree appeared a brown-clad figure, wearing a dark green robe. Its hood was pulled far down, hiding most of the man’s face. He carried a crooked staff and carried a worn pack stitched in multiple places. “You see, you look like a firebender. And with the upcoming war, you could be a spy.” -“I’m no firebender, I’m from Ju-Kong, at the Chameleon bay.” Shinasha lied. “And even if I was a fire nation spy, I wouldn’t dress like a firebender.” “Good point, good point.” The man seemed to smile. “But maybe you want me to think that, and you’re a spy after all.” Seeing no point in continuing the conversation, Shinasha grabbed the rains of the ostrich horse, and spurred it to high speed. Avoiding the man, Shinasha continued her way into the village. It was a small village, with mostly wooden cottages and every now and then a clay building. A few kids were playing in the streets, and an elderly couple was sitting on a bench in front of a house. Shinasha nodded to the elderly pair, and halted in front of a small shop. “A bag of feed, some water and something warm to eat, please.” -“In a minute, ma’am.” Replied the shopkeeper, who was busy refilling some stocks. A young man, probably not much older than Shinasha. A minute later the feed and the water was brought. “Meal will be done in a couple. That’ll be three coppers.” Shinasha paid the man, but he looked at the coins wearily. “That’s Fire nation money. Are you fire nation?” -“No, I’m not. I’m from a village near Chameleon bay.” “Then where did you get this money?” He said, obviously mistrusting Shinasha. -“I’ve been traveling a lot, and I have just returned from the Fire Nation. The upcoming war forced me out of there, so I decided to go back home for a while.” Said Shinasha. She seemed calm, but on the inside she was very nervous. She hoped the man wouldn’t catch her lie. But he didn’t. “So, what’s the fire-nation like, then?” -“Not much different then here, really. They just have a different way of dealing with things. And they have the temper of their element.” “Yeah. Let’s hope this war won’t last long. That Fire lord should know his place.” -“Yeah…” Shi didn’t know what to say. Luckily her food was ready, and she could fill her mouth with meat instead of words. She wasn’t even done yet when the door opened. “Good afternoon, Teng. Visitors, I see?” It was the brown and green clad man she had encountered on the road. “You?!” Exclaimed Shinasha loudly. “What do you want from me?!”
