He has light skin that can look flushed at times, but that is just something natural. Tian is pretty picky about his own appearance and would exercise routinely in order to fit the mold that he has made for himself.
Tian wears a deep red robe that falls onto the floor. The robe itself has intricate gold detailing and black lining, but is a rather simple robe. He keeps the robes open which exposes dark-brown shirt, black pants, and sashes. The black pants are tied at the bottom so as not to drag onto the floor. The sashes are gold and black and are tied around his waist which gives him a regal, aristocratic look. His shoes are just his most comfortable flats that are perfect for walking and bending in.

Even though he likes to laugh at others' expense, he is able to take a joke when it is directed at him.
He likes to take advantage of his social status. Born as a Fire Nation aristocrat, he is use to all the benefits. He views the war as an essential burden that the Fire Nation must bear in order to bring the world under its banner. His loyalty, however, is never really certain. Tian likes to be on the winning side and can change his loyalty when he wants to. He, however, does love his nation and is willing to accommodate his own interest with his nation's.
He is a calculative individual who excels at mathematics and proofs. As a priveledged child, his parents took advantage of private tutors and sending him to the best schools possible. He was often the best student in math, but was terrible when it came to music or the arts. At school, he is very competitive and would never settle for second best. Tian is not necessarily the shy individual. He speaks rather eloquently when it comes to presenting important information to the Fire Lord or the council.
Even though Tian Kang may be a scheming person, he is actual quite popular among his peers. He makes friends with all sorts of people and uses his connections carefully. He doesn't consider himself to be popular, but his peers often view him as the ringleader or the head of the pack.
History:[/u] Tian Kang is what everyone will refer to as the upper-class brat who would use his status in order to demean others. In some sense, that is true whereas in others, it can be false. Tian Kang was born in the Fire Nation capital to an aristocratic family in the Fire Lord's inner circle. The Kang family has established their name after one of their ancestors married into the Fire Lord's family. The Kang family were often viewed as the elite-of-the-elite right under the Fire Lord, yet they are also the center of gossip and jealousy. Tian is the youngest of three children and is the only male in his family. His two sisters, Bailing and Furei, became academic scholars who teach at the Firebending Academy for girls.
Tian, being the only male heir to his family name, was forced to study with harsh tutors and a rigorous curriculum. Aside from school, he was not allowed to leave the house unless he finished with his studies. In this case, his studies were never finished. He often felt jealous of his sisters who were able to go out with their boyfriends or party. The only people Tian was allowed to meet was high ranking officials who will stop by his house in order to chat with his parents and see Tian's potential as a future political leader.
After finishing his studies in the Firebending academy, the Fire Lord appointed Tian as a financial assistant to his chief financial officer after seeing Tian's skill with math. Tian worked as the observer for his boss, Tao Mai. Tao Mai was a very crude and strict man who would expect Tian to be prompt and prepared for any assignment. Often times, Tian would be forced to observe domestic and economic interactions and would report it to Tao Mai. Tian made sure that he was excelling in his work in order to one day overturn Tao Mai and receive the chief financial officer job.
His patience was prolonged when he was overlooked for such a job. He was told that his inexperience and youth were problematic and that someone whom the Fire Lord truly trusts should be appointed. Of course, Tian was furious but continued to be on the Fire Lord's favor. After two years of doing exemplary work as the Chief financial officer's dog, Tian was promoted to economic adviser who would overlook the economy of the Fire Nation. He still had to report to the Chief financial Officer, but he was able to be on a higher status than he was before. Tian was very hands-on with his work. He would often go himself to the most lavishing or rural of cities in order to investigate the economic situation of each and how both of them can be resolved.
After being promoted to this job, Tian was allowed to join in on the Fire Lord's council as an adviser. He was allowed to attend warfare meetings in order to analyze the Fire Nation's financial situation after certain decisions, but was only allowed to speak when the Fire Lord directs him to. Even though Tian may be an outspoken individual, he will shut his mouth in order to continue being on the Fire Lord's good side.
After the Avatar was said to have reappeared, Tian's loyalty was weaker than it had been, for he believed that the Avatar will be able to stop the Fire Nation from overrunning the Earth Kingdom. He did not show it, but at times he would contemplate whether to continue his loyalties with the Fire Nation or ally himself with the Avatar. After the Avatar was reported dead, Tian still did not truly believe the Fire Lord's word, for he did not believe that Prince Zuko had the capabilities to kill the Avatar. Tian often scrutinizes Zuko for his lack of skill in firebending and his lack of intellect. He still believes that the Avatar is alive somewhere, but continues to work under the Fire Lord until he finds out for certain that the Avatar is dead. He still, however, is contemplating whether he should ally himself with his own nation or with the Avatar.
